What's on your Sunday menu?
Mornin' Weekenders!!
it's going to be another scorcher here today (and much of the upcoming week, too) - yikes! It's a bit early in the season for this! I probably should get out and bike now if I'm going to do it - it's going to be miserable out come later this morning...
so today I'll finish catching up on movies for my class. I've also started making skyr and dal makhani (better known as "Madras lentils" in the US), so that'll take a chunk of the day -- which is fine because there's no way I'll want to leave the house this afternoon (I decided to make Madras lentils because I love the ones at Costco so much - but they're not cheap. All the ingredients for this are cheap - so here we go! Hopefully it turns out just as good (or better!) than the Costco version!). Other than that, not much going on today.
QOTD: what do you have to look forward to this week? My week is pretty low-key. It's the last week of class (my two new classes start next week), and my usual Mah Jongg group won't be playing because two of our group members (sisters) are away on vacation. I think I'll go over to the senior center and play with one of those groups on Tuesday afternoon, since that has started up again recently (they set up tables in the dining room for us - and a bunch of players usually show up).
Accountability has been good all-around lately
B: plain Greek yogurt with 1 T chia seeds and some strawberry/blueberry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: I have too much leftover coffee in my fridge - so either an iced latte made with Fairlife milk and SF syrup, or some protein shake concoction made with cold coffee
L: coleslaw made with Asian-style dressing topped with grilled chicken strips
AS: protein muffin
D: Madras lentils on 1/2 a pita
have a great Sunday, all!

Good Morning!
It's also unseasonably warm here today.. I got up super early and ran before the humidity set in - I didn't realize how hot I was till I got home. I decided to run a different route today and the hills nearly ended me.. something to work on! I also went further then I anticipated - my runs are timed so the distance isn't always consistent I ran until 'half way' and then turned around..
Overall I'm pretty proud of myself.
QOTD: this week is going to be busy as all else. I work everyday, Tuesday morning I have a committee meeting at 7am and then a job interview at 10, and then I work afternoon shift.. I want to run 4 days this week (one down! 3 to go)
b: fairlife latte
s:120g cottage cheese, 7g PB, 40g raspberries
l: 25g deli Turkey, 25g deli ham, mini pepper with 2 laughing cow wedges & a slice of Swiss cheese
S: something with some carbs.
d: Caesar salad topped with steak
S: not sure I'll be awake long enough for another snack :)

Learning my new normal, one day at a time.

Hey just a quick hello from Massachusetts, where we are melting, too. It was 92 and high humidity yesterday and will be even hotter today.
We had a cookout with friends last night and and we are having another one tonight, so needless to say... AMAW ended! But I did pretty well overall yesterday and plan to make decent enough choices again tonight :)
QOTD: Grim's birthday is Thursday! All the furniture for my new craft room is coming on Saturday! And I have M - W off next week! All good things, which is great b/c I have a lot going on at work that could really bring me down if I didn't have these things to look forward to.
B: I did some cooking for the week already at 6am this morning, so my breakfast was little bites of steak and pork chops!
L: Turkey
D: 2 hot dogs (no bun) + little bites of other stuff which will likely include chips, watermelon, and maybe cheese? And I am making a pitcher of watermelon/cucumber juice with vodka, so a glass of that too!

Ohhhhh how I wish I had control over humidity...
Mystic is only a little over an hour from us, BTW! Maybe we can figure out a way to get dinner in Mystic while you are nearby!

Good morning! Late morning for me. I laid in bed until after 8 am! Shocking slug over here. It just felt good. Yesterday's grad part was a nice neighborhood get together and they had great options from me to eat -- so I completed my day totally in line with my limits and on (c)AMAW. But today I will add some intentional carbs. I'm actually up two pounds this week, so I think it will be interesting if adding back some carbs will effect that. We had great fun taking the oldest granddaughter vacation/summer clothes shopping. Scored everything on our list and I brought it back home to package for the trip and so she can't destroy them before we leave. She's a little ball of muscle and energy and non stop and she tends to look like an orphan 20 minutes after she starts her day. She is super strong headed and finicky about her clothes and shoes, but we found lots of things we both agreed on.
Today we have not a lot going on, but do have tickets to see Cruella in the theater and I have a tri tip in the crock pot. Easy like a Sunday morning...
QoTD: Dinner with friends on Tuesday that I haven't seen since pre pandemic. Maybe even since fall of 2019. The kids are going have grown so much!!! I hate how I missed out on so many stages of the little peeps in our life.
Menu:
B: husband wants to go out, so a poached egg and a slice of bacon
L: eating this late, but it's going to be pulled tri tip w/sugar free bbq sauce, a little cheddar and a coleslaw topper
D: chicken breast and a few bites of potato
Peace everyone!

Worked today, my "weekends" occur during the week and I like it that way. The beaches are not crowded then.

I am looking forward to RNY surgery tomorrow morning and learning to navigate my new life
Best of luck!
Most people feel pretty good by day 4, hopefully you will too.
When I went for surgery, one of the other OH posters said to make sure my doctor had a plan to deal with constipation after surgery. That was good advice. Those red Ducolax pills that they give you in the hospital were not a plan.
