What's on your Thursday menu?

Ok...that one cracked me up this morning.

Good morning menu friends! Hope today finds you doing well!

I'm still not feeling great. The pain has been rather high for the past few days. I'm waiting for a call back from the stimulator company's rep to get it reprogrammed.

Was finally able to cut off the green alert bracelet yesterday for the gas bubble so it's finally gone. I still have a lot of floaters in the eye but it'll take some time to get rid of those as I heal.

I've decided to try and ad in some dairy again. I think my whole issue is mainly eggs. So I'm starting slowly. I had a premier protein shake for dinner and so far it's not making me feel sick at all and no reaction on my lips. I would love to ad yogurt back in. I don't mind the alternative yogurts but they're so full of sugar. I've been lacking in protein. If this works out I'm going to do a week of mostly a liquid diet. I need to reset my mind. I know the pouch "reset" isn't a real thing so I'm not looking at it like that. I need to fight my mind. I'm going to start seeing my therapist on a regular basis now that my eye stuff is on the mend.

QOTD: Would you rather have unlimited international first-class tickets or never have to pay for food at restaurants

Easy...tickets all the way. Not even a second guessing to that. Imagine all the money you didn't have to pay for the tickets you could do some fine dining.

accountability sucked last night.

B: oatmeal, powdered peanut butter and coffee before

L: protein shake

D: thinking it'll be the pork tenderloin that's in the freezer, zucchini

S: popcorn, coffee and GF pretzels.

have a great day everyone!

Good morning, everybody!

Quick hitter today, I have a dentist appointment this morning. This is the tooth that I had to get pulled in the height of COVID lockdown last year, and then the post for the implant gave me blood poisoning in the fall, So its been quite an adventure.

After that, I found out my 9:00 meeting was cancelled, so I have a few hours to rest up.

QOTD: I would take the airfare as well. Mathematically, the restaurant is probably better because you eat every day for the rest of your life, but 24/7 of restaurant eating wouldn't be so good for me.

Menu is kind of up in the air, we'll see how I feel when I get back.

Have a great day!

Mornin' All!

well documentary #3 was great. I wish I could recommend that and documentary #1 for this documentary discussion group I've decided to form (we'll start at the end of June), but unfortunately, they're not widely available. Boo. I need to come up with a shortlist of films that are either available on Netflix or Amazon Prime, or that the library has a lot of copies of (after the first couple of meetings, we'll start rotating among the group on who picks the film of the month). Not sure what's on tap for today film-wise.

I'm feeling like a blob this morning for no reason. I must have eaten too much sodium yesterday. But that's fine - I eat less overall when I'm feeling like this. I'll jus****ch my sodium intake today and slam the fluids. I think I'll do a virtual yoga class at 9:00 am (there's another one at 4:30 - I could do that instead - or in addition). I really need to get back into it. I'll also do some kind of cardio - maybe biking if it doesn't rain - or water aerobics again.

QOTD: tickets for sure. I try to really limit my restaurant eating because it's always a challenge to work those meals in - and going out too often sabotages my weight maintenance (or loss) efforts.

B: vanilla skyr with 1/2 diced mango, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: tomato/cucumber/basil salad with balsamic vinaigrette and 2 oz mozzarella. Maybe 1/2 serving of lentil crackers, too

AS: skinny bagel with light cream cheese and L&F yogurt

D: chicken salad (maybe in 1/2 pita if I have enough calories left over by then)

have a great day, everyone!

Hey hey everyone.

Things have been crazy busy with work so I haven't been posting often. Yesterday was my 3 month follow-up with the "Optifast" doctor and I'm happy to report as of today I can start adding REAL FOOD!! I'm soooo pumped just at the thought of having 3 turkey meatballs on my menu,,, how crazy is that?? You'd think it was filet mignon the way I'm looking forward to dinner. Exercise has been on point,,, gym for incline treadmill and weigh-training 4x a week plus walking 2-3 miles on the non-gym days.

Melody,,, the liquid diet may not reset your pouch but I think you are right that it could help reset your mind. We are here to support you. I'm hoping that with adding food back in this week,, I'll really feel the restriction. Will keep you updated!

QOTD: Unlimited tickets for sure! I've travelled most of Canada and a bit of the US but would love to see the rest of the world. I graduated as an Architectural Technologist so would absolutely want to soak in all of the history/culture/structure of other countries. I hear some of the street food is amazing and much more cost efficient than fancy restaurants so I'd go that route.

B - Optifast

L - 1 chicken skewer - Optifast

D - 3 turkey meatballs, asparagus, cremini mushrooms

S - greek yogurt

3.5 L water

I look forward to hearing about your experience with that. I'm starting tomorrow so I'm just hoping to stick to it. I'm going to allow some yogurt in once a day.

thanks again :o)
