What's on your Thursday menu?

Good Thursday mornin everyone.

I did a good one yesterday...I was using a mandolin and the protection thing got caught...my thumb slipped and got sliced. It's not quite deep enough for stitches but close...I swear I manage to do some stunts. I had a friend suggest Kevlar gloves so I'll be getting some later on. Just a duh moment. It's really sore and still oozing a bit.

I also got my first Covid vaccine yesterday! I've had a pretty bad headache and my shoulder is a bit achy. Glad to have it started.

Not much planned today...that I know of anyway. Had a lot of pain during the night so not a very restful night.

QOTD: What's something people don't worry about but really should?

Being decent to each other. It takes less effort to be nice or civil than it does to be mean and nasty.

B: just egg, chicken sausage and coffee before

L: strawberry & banana protein shake

D: cabbage and turkey smoked sausage with a little bit of vegan cheese

S: roasted seaweed and maybe GF pretzels.

have a great day everyone!

Mornin' Everyone!

slicing my finger off is one of the reasons I've resisted buying a mandolin. So sorry that happened to you - it just makes me cringe!!!

I have a dentist appt at 10:00 this morning and a luncheon at 11:30. It's the first time this group has gotten together in person since the pandemic started. Luckily, it should be a great day for it, too! (we're meeting outside - a picnic luncheon!) No other plans although I have three films I should probably watch by the end of the weekend. My documentary film class starts on Monday, and i saw the syllabus yesterday. Egad. We're going to be busy the next three weeks. I'm glad I'm only auditing the class. It should be great but a TON of work! Anyway, there won't be much time to watch any other videos or things on Netflix, so I've got to get these videos I have sitting at home watched and returned to the library.

QOTD: People who haven't saved or done much planning for their "golden years". Given so few people have traditional pensions anymore and so many people aren't adequately funding their 401(k)'s, this is going to be a H-U-G-E problem in a few years. The thought of the government reducing Social Security payments in the future makes the whole scenario even worse. I remember about five years ago there was a guy on my bus who seemed to be gloating about the fact that he had $5000 in his IRA. He was about my age (55 at the time). I think he was trying to impress me. I was impressed all right - but not in the sense he was intending. $5000 would last us about two months. I hope this guy has a pension or a big inheritance coming...

B: I'd written down an Aldi's version of an Egg McMuffin (I plan my menu the night before), but as usual, I'm wanting Greek yogurt with fruit this morning. So that. The fruit being 1/2 diced mango. Coffee with half & half.

MS: protein shake

L: 1/2 a turkey and cheese sandwich, apple

AS: 1/2 protein muffin and a L&F yogurt

D: the other half of the sandwich, 1/2 C low fat coleslaw

ex: probably weights

have a great day, everyone!

I'm sorry about your thumb! My hubby dehydrates veggies for me and uses a mandolin but I wouldn't even try!

Good morning y'all, Happy Friday eve!

Breakfast - fasting, so hot black coffee and water

Lunch - I GOT NO PREPARATIONS!

Dinner - see above

I hope you all have a great day!

The first time I used a mandolin, I ended up at urgent care. The doctor asked me if I bought the mandolin at Kohl's. Kohl's had been running a special on them and I was her third patient that week who had bought one and sliced their fingers. Kevlor glove is a good idea. I know how to use the guard now, but am still afraid of it.

Mandolins terrify me. That actually could have been my QOTD response.

Good morning. Ugh, yesterday drug on and on and on. I thought it would never end, LOL. One of my major accounts got funded yesterday by Uncle Sam, so I am hoping things get moving again today. We did have a nice impromptu front porch gathering with the neighbors and everyone's dogs, so that was nice to come home to. And I was successful in my first attempt to bake seabass. I'm learning to like fish a bit more every time I try it.

QoTD: I think more people should worry about the world we are leaving for the next generations. Simple steps make impacts. Turn the water off while you actually brush your teeth, don't start the shower five minutes before you get in, try to recycle what you can. Little things that if not help, can't hurt.

Menu:

B: hb egg, 1/4 cottage cheese, EBTB seasoning

L: P3 turkey pack, 4 Sonoma bacon cheddar crackers

D: Out tonight to celebrate a friend's birthday. Upscale tacos. So it should be easy to get a street taco. With griddled queso. And a small serving of ranch beans. And a few sips of my husband's margarita.

S: beef jerky, whisps

Peace Everyone!

Good morning, everybody!

I picked up Washington yesterday, so we are down to four quarters left to go. (one is a 2021 release) Arizona, New Mexico and Puerto Rico are the remaining culprits.

The fam made it home at about 3:30 yesterday. I think that my son is thrilled to be through a tough academic semester. He starts work on the 24th of May, so he will have a week and aa half off, then work through August. We are going to Alaska, fishing, the second week in August and he starts Sophomore year after that.

I got a little more detail about the trash. Evidently it took from 4 -9 to empty out the trash, with an hour nap in the middle. Because of COVID, no guests are allowed in the dorm rooms, including parents, which probably saved Marilyn a breakdown.

QOTD: Skunks.

Breakfast: PB toast

Lunch: Hamburger

Dinner: Hello Fresh

Have a great day, all!
