I have. But it was several years ago way before my surgery. It really isn't as bad as people say.

No cleanse was required however a 2 week very strict diet of protein shakes and 1 meal with 4oz meat and 1 cup vegetables for 2 weeks prior to surgery was required for me because my BMI was over 50 and I had to shrink my liver for them to operate. This is not required for everyone.

I did not need to do a colon cleanse before surgery. I was required to be on a liquid diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery. So not much in the colon anyways.

I had to do a two week liquid diet and then drink of gallon of horrid tasting stuff the night before surgery. That stuff was the worst part of the whole experience. What they have now is not as bad as it was in 2007.
Just ask your surgeon. Some require it, some don't.
