What's on your (photo) Friday menu?
on 3/19/21 3:52 am - Amarillo, TX
Good morning everyone! Hoping that you're having a great day so far!
I wasn't able to sleep much so I made some turkey breakfast sausage. Lots of pain during the night. I'm so ready for the pain to lessen!
I've got an appointment this morning with the pain management clinic NP. Other than that not a lot planned for the day. I need to make some more fondant mermaid tails and maybe some more shells or star fish. I'm still not sure how I'm going to decorate a blueberry cheesecake...LOL. I think I'm going to make a fondant disc for the mermaid to rest on so we'll just be able to take it off and they'll eat the cheesecake. I'm also going to make 6 or 12 cupcakes but i'm cheating on that...using frosting from the store. Since it's not the main show I don't feel guilty about it. Also it is 3 or 4 days after my surgery. I'll make the cheesecake ahead of time but my mom will have to do most of the stuff for the cupcakes.
QOTD: Easy one today....what's the plans for the weekend?
nothing exciting here. We'll take Rachel out shopping tomorrow since it snowed so much Wednesday.

Happy Friday all! I'm so sleepy this morning. So glad the weekend is finally here! It's going to be a busy one for me, but hopefully I can get some better quality sleep tonight. Accountability was decent again. I really need to crack down though so I can get these last few pounds off that I need to lose.
QOTD: Supposed to be going to the aquarium, dinner and a walk downtown with a date tomorrow, but I'm considering canceling because I am just feeling too overwhelmed. Sunday I am going to lunch with my best friend to celebrate her belated birthday and I finally get to meet her little girl Sophie who was born this past December. Would have met her sooner, but had so much going on and then I got sick. Oh and at some point this weekend I need to find time for laundry, cleaning and shopping for a few things. I want to go ahead and get my bothers birthday gift since his birthday is next month. Just don't know what to get him yet. I really just want to sit home all weekend in my pj's and drink coffee. Sigh...
B: coffee & protein shake
L: oatmeal
D: 4 oz baked salmon & veggies
S: protein shake
Had to snap this photo of my sweet boy!

TGIF am I right? This week has sucked. Let's be real, there's been so much going on in my life since surgery.. the last 6 months have been hard both physically and mentally.. and I sometimes feel I'm going to implode. Trying hard to keep my chin up.
QOTD: it's finally supposed to he nice outside this weekend.. so I'll likely take the dog for a walk and maybe go fishing with a friend.

Learning my new normal, one day at a time.
Good morning, everybody!
I did text with Jen yesterday. She is doing well, just has a series of international meetings that are playing havoc with her schedule. She does come by in the afternoon and check in on us. I sent everybody's well-wishes. She got a similar snow total to my son, about 27 inches last week.
I have to interview 7 people this morning. Three and a half hours of interviewing. That is going to leave me totally wiped out. Hopefully there is time for a nap before the rest of the afternoon.
Event 21.2 was released last night. It plays much more to my strengths than the last one. I think that I have a legitimate chance to finish all of the reps within the 20 minute time cap. Especially since the dumbbell is reduced to 35 pounds for the 55-plus age group. We will see.
QOTD: Aside from 21.2, I think we will mostly be getting ready to leave for Florida on Wednesday. The weather is supposed to improve here, so we should spend some time outside.
Breakfast: Protein Bar
Lunch: Chicken quesadilla
Dinner: Leftover corned beef
Have a great day, all!
