two of our cats do this with their food. One did that from day 1. I think he "trained" the other one, because I don't think she did that when we first brought her home. It's so weird!

Mornin' Everyone!

well the bloating continues. Up a pound since yesterday - when I was up a pound from the day before. Good Lord. Maybe today will be the day. All I can do is really slam the water and wait it out. I made some salmon cakes for dinner last night out of some leftover salmon we had - maybe it was the garlic salt I put in them. Plus I made tartar sauce (using 1/2 plain Greek yogurt and 1/2 low-fat mayo) - that had some salt in it as well...but nothing else is coming to mind. Oh well - hopefully this'll start working it's way out today or tomorrow. At least feeling this way keeps me from overeating!

I have class this morning, but nothing else. It snowed yesterday, though, so I'll probably stay in (streets look OK, though). I have a lot I can be doing, so I should be able to keep myself occupied. It's supposed to be back up to 60 degrees F this weekend - halleleujah!

QOTD: I'd love to know what they're thinking. Also, our oldster (age 16) meows ALL THE TIME. I think he might be getting dementia or something - or his hearing is going and he can't hear himself. But I'm always asking him what he wants. I'll turn on the water (he likes drinking out of the faucet). Nope. I'll give him food. Nope. So WTH do you want? Ugh...

B: 1/2 C protein oatmeal topped with 1/2 C chocolate "mousse" (made from cottage cheese and protein powder) and fresh raspberries, coffee with half & half

MS: strawberry protein shake with a few frozen strawberries and some fresh mint thrown in (and spinach of course!)

L: 1 Costco chicken skewer, 1/4 C chickpeas, grape tomatoes and cucumber topped with tahini/lemon dressing

AS: something that'll hold me over. Maybe peanut butter on a piece of 35-calorie Aldi bread - and a pear or an orange

D: one Aldi crab cake with some of my homemade tartar sauce, coleslaw (also made with plain Greek yogurt and reduced fat mayo)

ex: some kind of cardio

have a great day, everyone!

I would love if Gracie could tell me about her life before I had her. All I know is that she was about six months old and they called me the day that they got her at the shelter. She stayed with a foster family until she had her shots and was spayed and then I picked her up and took her home.

When we were at the shelter getting her checked out, she kept putting a paw out of her carrier and trying to get attention from people passing by. She really likes men, but is terrified of a broom and runs if I start sweeping. I am almost sure that someone hurt her with a broom.

She had clearly been an outdoor cat and was not going to tolerate being inside. She rebelled by peeing on carpet. After a extremely frustrating week, my vet told me that she was not going to stay in the house and be happy. I lived in the country, so had a cat door installed and she never peed on the carpet again once she was allowed outside.

She was about ten when I moved to town and she used to sit on the front porch most of the day and night. One day she stopped doing that and now won't go in the front yard. I am sure something scared her, but it was a relief when she was finally content with not going outside.
