I wish they would just settle on one and keep it year-round. There are things I like and don't like about both (I like it light in the evenings - but I hate it being dark in the mornings - and vice versa), so it doesn't really matter to me which one we go with, but enough with the stupid changes!! Grrr!

I'm in Ontario Canada and we are on Daylight Savings Time too which I hate. This morning was a struggle! Our province was supposed to get rid of DLST this year but apparently it's postponed to 2022.

There was one year in the late 70's or early 80's when the U.S. did not have daylight savings time. It did not get daylight until 9:00 AM and I remember the kids out waiting for their school bus when it was still pitch dark at 7:00 AM. After that I like daylight savings time.

I used to work with a lot of different countries and have to keep track of which country started daylight savings time on which day. It kept things a bit confusing because every country did not start and stop on the same day.

I remember that well - it was in 1974. I remember a lot of the kids going to school with flashlights. It was awful!

Mornin' All!

My weight is way up this morning. This drives me insane. It's probably residual from Saturday. We biked for 2.5 hours, but we had Chinese takeout for dinner and I totally blew it. 2200 calories that day. I figured that bike ride would have made up for some of that - and maybe it did - and there's also a boat load of sodium in Chinese food, so that might have had something to do with it as well. Well, and of course eating way over my calorie range, too. At any rate, I'm feeling super waterlogged and awful this morning. I have GOT to stay on plan today. I hate feeling like this!

No Mah Jongg today because one of my fellow players has an appointment. I'm going to do a Zoom "strength fusion" (whatever that is) at 10:30 and a (Zoom) Bollywood dance class at noon. Otherwise, ?? I've got tons I can do around the house and for classes, though.

QOTD: I'm such a tightwad that I'd probably just invest it all. Our financial guy keeps telling us we can afford to loosen up with our money a bit, but it's such an ingrained habit to save (DH is the same way) that it's not easy for us to do that. I keep thinking we'll need it at some point... I do want to travel more, though. I figure I have about another 15 good years left when I can do that, and we've already lost a year thanks to COVID. I need to get on it...

B: Greek yogurt with 1/2 diced mango, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: either a piece of cheesecake-flavored yogurt pie with blueberry compote, or a Costco chicken skewer with 1/4 C chickpeas, tomatoes, and cucumber topped with tahini/lemon dressing

AS: protein muffin?

D: tuna/salmon patties (I don't have enough leftover salmon to make them, so I'll throw in some canned tuna, too). I made my own tartar sauce yesterday with 1/2 C plain Greek yogurt and 1/2 C light mayo (plus mustard, relish, and herbs) - turned out great! I've got some crab cakes in the freezer I'll have it with later this week, too)

have a great day, everyone!

Good morning everyone,

I haven't been posting much since I'm on my 4th week of a 4 week Optifast run. (yes I chose to do this) Things have been going well with it, I'm down quite a bit in only 3 weeks but definitely miss something savory. I had gym workouts on Thurs, Friday and Saturday but my mom called Saturday afternoon and invited my brother and I for supper and a game of cards. I decided to have a small tossed salad and 1 piece of fish which was totally worth it,, REAL FOOD! lol The scale was still down yesterday and this morning so I'm fine with it.

QOTD: I just finished paying off my house so I'd sell it and build one by the water then TRAVEL TRAVEL TRAVEL.

Menu - Optifast x 3

Lots of water

Jeez. Totally slacking over here! Yesterday we rode 24.4 miles on our bikes. I was totally exhausted last night. At one point so tired I couldn't figure out why. I went a little over on calories for dinner but overall I did well. Including a St. Patrick's taco for lunch. Brisket, slaw, griddled cheese on a green corn tortilla. It was fabulous! Anyway, I'm up with coffee and a yoga class done. Easing into my day.
QoTD: my number one bucket list! A private jet with stand by crew to whisk myself and people I love off to anywhere in the world that is calling to us.
Menu

L: TBD

D: roasted chicken, onions, potatoes and a bit of corn on the cob. All done on the barbecue. Yum
