What's on your Wednesday menu?
You are STRONG, Melody! You can do this!
Today is DS's 30th birthday (which is why I am on Cape Cod). I can't believe my "baby" is this old! We are celebrating by taking a walk mid-day in the local Audubon wildlife sanctuary, then dinner out with my son, 2 SILs and his birth mom. Really looking forward to it. And thanks to Teenie, I have a unique gift ordered for him (AeroGarden)!
I am missing Mike a lot unlike how I felt when I didn't see him for 4 weeks at the holidays. Funny how our relationship has evolved. I guess we are basically living together (even though we aren't making it official until at least mid-summer). So we are still just taking some clothing back and forth, not moving everything. I will be back with him by mid-day tomorrow.
QOTD: Really good question! ETA (because I forgot to put the answer in, LOL): I guess the fact that they NEVER throw any articles of clothing away. Why do they think 20 year old shoes are better than new ones????
TSS: 4 years, 11 months
B: Coffee!!! Scrambled eggs and cottage cheese
L: chicken and laughing cow cheese
D: dinner out for DS's birthday
S: birthday cake???

I know he will love it! It was the perfect suggestion as he has gotten into growing houseplants AND he loves fresh herbs for his cooking.

Mornin' All!
this is supposed to be the warmest day of the week (mid-60s, I think), but it's going to rain off and on all day. Boo. Although that should wash away the rest of the snow, at least. A couple more warm days (I think...), and then it's back down to the more seasonable 40s. But at least spring is coming...
I have Mah Jongg this morning, then I have to go to my MIL's to clip her cat's claws. Fun. Nothing else - but I have lots of things I can be doing around the house (as usual...), plus reading for classes.
I had a consult for facial plastic surgery on Monday evening - it went well. I'm a little afraid to see the estimate, though. The surgeon said they'd put it on MyChart, but I had a voice mail from someone yesterday who said she mailed it - so I'll be in suspense for a few more days. The surgeon (who only does facial surgeries, which I wanted - someone who specializes in the area) knows the surgeon who did my body contouring (in Chicago) - known him for years. He used to babysit for his kids, in fact. Small world!
QOTD: at one time I probably would have said communication as well, but I can't really think of anything now. It might be because I spent my career(s) working in the helping professions (counseling, student services, and libraries) - and those fields tend to attract people - both men and women - who are good at communicating with others. So most of the men I've had close contact with tended to be pretty good at that. DH works in such a profession, too (career counseling at a university). So other than that, nothing really comes to mind.
Accountability has been ok - exercise especially has been really good - but my weight is just sitting there. In fact, I'm up a pound today, but I think it's jus****er. Regardless, I'm going to try to cut calories starting today. It's hard, but if I want to drop a few lbs, I have to. I'm fine up until about 4:00 pm - so I need to really focus on making it through the late afternoon (evenings generally aren't an issue, oddly...)
B: plain Greek yogurt with berry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: a cup of homemade asparagus soup, Aldi's version of an Egg McMuffin (hopefully enough protein and fat to get me through most of the afternoon...)
AS: 1/2 a protein muffin, L&F yogurt. I do have some raw veggies in the fridge that I'll turn to if I can't avoid the eating urge. I also have sugar free Jello and sugar free popsicles...
D: the Indian chicken dish that I was going to make last night that I never got around to...
ex: some kind of cardio
have a great day, everyone!
I think you are 1 day ahead of us weather wise here in Pittsburgh. Every time you post your weather we get the same forecast the following day. I hope it waits till Mid morning to rain tomorrow so I can run before it starts.

yep - we are (I grew up in and around Cleveland, so I have lots of friends and relatives on Facebook who sometimes post about the weather, and they're always a day behind us). Winds in the northern half of the country, at least, usually go from west to east, so you guys get it a day after we do - and the east coast usually a day after that....
Good morning! It's cold and rainy here. Brrrr. I'm hoping for much more excitement today at work. Yesterday was a snooze fest and the day would not end. Our neighbors came over for a front porch drink and that was great fun. It also put me very behind on organizing to be out of the house for 10 days while the roof is being replaced. So I left my husband a pretty long list of honey do's. He invited the neighbors over, he can help shoulder the load, right?
QoTD: I my opinion, men process info in their brain and slot it into one spot. I process and it gets filed into lots of slots. Like take out the trash. My husband grabs it, drops it in, goes on his way. I grab it, worry if it will get smelly before garbage day, worry that I haven't sorted it correctly, so double check that on shaking it into the bin, then make sure the bins are in the right place on the curb and secure and the lids are sealed tight. Then back to the house, scrub my hands -- on to the next thing. His way is much less complex and time consuming. But we are this way about everything. I analyze it and add as much info as possible to the process, he just does it.
Menu:
B: 1 egg, 1/4C cottage cheese, 4-5 parm crisps crumpled into it for crunch
L: leftovers. I made a great chicken sausage and white bean dinner last night. So that, or the feta/fishy noodles/tomato thing. I am stocked up for lunches because of having to bug out of the house. Our fridge at work is disproportionately taken up with my stuff, but they have to figure it out. I'm not eating lunch out -- no way.
D: TJ Shrimp burger, avo, 1 oz cheese. I have bread to make my husband a sandwich out of so he has more volume.
S: piece of chocolate if I stay on track all day.
Peace Everyone.

Good Morning Melody and Menuers,
Hope everyone is having a great morning. Sorry to hear your having more wows Melody I'll keep you in my prayers.
Oh My, I made Air fryer Fajitas last night that I saw on TikTok and wowzah. You just took 3 sweet peppers, 2 boneless chicken breast, I added 1 red onion and 5 strips of bacon. Cut it all up throw in Air fryer drizzle with 2 TBS of Olive oil and a pack of Fajita seasoning, stir it around and cook on 380° for 20 minutes. I stirred it one time during the cooking process. We could not get enough. It was perfectly cooked and delicious.
I have a work project starting today I am not thrilled about so It should keep me very busy for the next couple of weeks. If you do not see me you will know why.
QOTD: Why do men complain about shaving when they got such a small area to shave? I shave legs arms face toe knuckles. LOL Women shave way more than men.
Accountability: I added a baked oat muffin and blueberry frozen yogurt.
TSS: 3 years 2 Months and 27 days 131.2 (Lowest 129.4)

Good morning, all,
Looks to be another great day here in the Boston area - sunny and relatively warm (for us anyway).
QOTD: How can men just sit in clutter or ignore a project that NEEDS to be done??? I can't relax until what has to get done is done. Then, I'm good to sit on the couch like they have been doing, LOL.
B: steelcut oats, fruit puree
L: shrimp
D: marinara with ground beef and chicken, maybe 1/4 cup spaghetti or a few strands as space will allow
S: strawberry protein puffs (I'm obsessed)
actually, we're the exact opposite! I have a high tolerance for clutter. And I'm unfortunately skilled at procrastinating (unless it's something critical, of course....). DH can't stand seeing one speck anywhere - it drives him INSANE. He also has to finish everything before he goes to bed (or leaves work****ep trying to explain that whatever it is can wait until tomorrow to finish, but I think he obsesses about it until it's done. I think he has a hard time sleeping or leaving the house (or work) if there's something hanging over his head. I, on the other hand,...
