Week two after Gastric Bypass Surgery .......
Tomorrow will be my two-week point. I have lost so far as this morning 16 pounds. I have got sick twice from the food or the amount of food. This week they will change me to stage III of my diet on to soft foods. Should I have lost more? I am trying to determine if I am on track. I am following the diet and exercise. I am just feeling clueless. What happens when you get to stage III Soft foods ......do you still lose as much?

A lot of people stall after a few weeks. You can search "Three week stall". It will pass and you will go back to losing. Just keep on your plan.

I had my RNY in 2005, but yes I remember hitting that stall although mine was more around the 5-week mark. Don't panic when it happens. Hopefully you took measurements before your surgery, because during the stall you will be losing inches like crazy! If memory serves, I believe I lost about 35-40 lbs the first month before stalling.

16 lbs in two weeks is a lot. I lost 16 lbs the first MONTH. It seems like most people around here lose somewhere in the 15-25 lb range the first month. Of course, you'll always fine some who lose more or less than that, but 15-25ish seems to be about the norm. So at 16 lbs in only two weeks, you're right on target!
Okay awesome ......tomorrow is my first appointment after surgery with the surgeon and I'm looking forward to stage III food.
All you can do is follow Doctors orders now until your healed. Get in your water and protein goals and walk as much as you can without over doing it. Your surgeon will let you know when to pump up your exercise. Just enjoy the ride the first year is the fun part.
