Good morning, everybody!

It's a near certainty that if I lead off, someone else will post at the same time, but here goes...

As we speak, I am finally ahead of the dishes. Yesterday, I tackled the dishwasher problem. I did and put away all of the dishes in the sink and then took out the bottom dishwasher tray.

Put on my COVID mask, held my nose and with a restaurant take out cup (soon destined for the trash) started scooping out the grey, filthy water. It took 84 scoops. I used a 21-18-15-12-9-6-3 descending rep scheme with fresh air breaks between sets. Then i took old towels, soaked up the remaining water and washed them out. Washed out the sink, etc. and declared victory.

Now, how many of my clean dishes would Mary put right back in the sink for re-washing? No more than 85%.

Of course my son then showed up with more dishes from his room, (including a tea set that I didn't even know we had). I washed those also and got him take out for dinner.

We are supposed to get another snowstorm on Saturday, so I need to go to the grocery store before that hits.

QOTD: What is the sunggliest thing you have for cold days? I rely mostly on our Pendleton blankets and my fleece coat

Breakfast: turkey meatballs and cottage cheese

Snack: protein bar

lunch: omlette

snack: nuts

Dinner: Pate, Cheese and Cabernet

Have a great day, all!

Mernin! Happy FF Friday!

QOTD - I live in a 100 year old stone home, with no central heat so I am ALL about snuggly clothes and stuff! I live in sweats and yoga pants and fleece hoodies. I also have a couple of really nice custom robes my MIL made that have deep pockets, and a menagerie of five dogs who are always happy to sit on top of me wherever I sit. That, along with a heated blanket that follows me from room to room helps!

Breakfast - fasting, so lots of hot black coffee and water

Lunch - soyrizo, kale and tofu scramble on tortillas with vegan cheese (TACOS!)

Snack - apple with peanut butter and pepitas

Snack - fruit smoothie with chia seeds, hemp seed hearts and kale. Trying to get the good stuff in.

Snack - triscuits with chickpea salad

Dinner - homemade vegan enchiladas, rice and beans.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Christina

Let it begin with me.

Good job on tackling the stagnan****er in the dishwasher while using a rep scheme,,,, I can almost picture this! lol

The comment about your son bringing dishes from his room hits a note as well. My son is 24 and was cleaning the garage last weekend,, I ended up with a sink full of dishes/silverware I thought were long gone. BOYSSS I tell ya!

Happy Friday menu peeps!

Last night wasn't very productive for exercise,, I had planned on doing a 50 minute home spin session but 15 minutes into it my daughter showed up who I hadn't seen in a few weeks. We had an outdoor distanced visit while our dog took advantage of the time for some "go fetch" games back and forth between the two of us.

There are no big plans this weekend as we are still in lockdown but if it's not super cold, we'll find a park and do some walking. I also want to do at least 2 days of spin plus some weights/resistance bands. I pray this weight loss I'm seeing isn't just loss of the muscle I'd built,,, so tough to know!

B - egg & cottage cheese scramble

L - chicken kabobs, salad

S - greek yogurt

D - chicken veggie stir-fry

S - turkey pepperettes

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Good morning! Currently we have a break in our "atmospheric river", but boy did it rain last night. We are under contract for a new roof, but looking at 4-8 weeks out. Praying the ceilings don't fall in before then. We wanted to get this done last year, but include a design change. Between Covid and no planners available, and living in a historic district, the city is making it way too hard, so we are staying with the original spanish craftsman with rolled barrel tile and just getting a new roof. Before we have no house to roof.

It's supposed to be beautiful, cold and clear this weekend. We are hoping for a bike ride and lunch on a patio. Our restaurants are just opening again for outdoor service. I'm sick to death of cooking. (Though yesterday's chicken stew was phenomenal! Will definitely make again!). Today is going to be busy supporting a new project. We are taking on more work as the US/China policy impacts our customers. It all means keeping more people in their jobs here, so bring it on.

QoTD: I have a very thick snugly blanket + a heating pad for TV watching/reading, and an electric blanket on the bed. Found out the night before last that level 9 is too high, level 6 is not quite warm enough and level seven is just right. I feel like Goldilocks.

Menu:

B: 2 oz roast tukey breast, 1/4 C cottage cheese, 1 tbsp guacamole

L: left over chicken stew

D: pan roasted sea bass, roasted veggies with white wine sauce and rice for the hubs.

Peace Everyone! Have a wonderful Friday.

Mornin'!

I just did a half hour of Zumba (this instructor is based in Hanoi - it's not the kind of Zumba I'm used to, but perhaps this is how they do it in Vietnam. Or maybe it's just this instructor. Or maybe they just call it that so Americans kinda get an idea. Anyway, I like doing her stuff occasionally since it's different...). Mah Jongg in 15 minutes. Then my mom wants me to take her to Aldi's after that. We're getting that snowstorm tomorrow too, Jim, so anything that needs to be done I'll have to do today (our snowblower is in the shop - I hope we don't get as much snow as they're predicting...)

QOTD: I go back and forth between being too cold and then too hot in the winter, so I have to use things that don't take much effort to remove and then put back on. For example, I have blankets and/or throws in almost every room. I also bought a bunch of yak wool shawls in India last year - those are great for just throwing over my shoulders and wrapping up in - at least temporarily ****il I get too hot and throw them off...)

TSS: 5y7m

B: protein shake, coffee with half & half, half a biscotti

MS: I was going to eat cottage cheese with diced mango, but I'm not hungry after that "Zumba" class. So I have a protein bar next to me in case I get hungry during the Mah Jongg game

L: probably the cottage cheese and mango that I didn't eat earlier

AS: 1/2 a protein muffin, L&F yogurt. Or maybe a Costco chicken skewer.

D: turkey chili (??)

have a great day, everyone!

Our 25 year old snowblower jammed from the wet snow last week, so I ended up shoveling for the most part.

I am OK now, but the first winter after surgery I was always freezing. What ended up being the best thing to wear was silk undershirts and long silk underwear under everything. I also wore gloves with cutoff fingers so I could type.

Late August surgery - I remember going out to my car, in the driveway, after it had baked in the September sun all day to sit in the black leather seats and warm up. Today, I'm just run of the mill cold like everybody else in the midwest.
