RNY vets are you OK? Life sucks sometimes (vets = 5+ years in my mind, but not set in...
I am not going to give you all the bull**** platitudes about how you got this, you are awesome, it's just food, just refocus, no problem, etc. Because I'd punch someone who did that to me.
But I will say therapy is great. You DESERVE to focus on you. I don't even know you and I am so proud of you already! Whether you succeed or fail, you deserve to be the best "you" possible. Therapy is one of many steps in that process, I know personally.
Please keep me updated on how you are doing.

Hey Audrey!
I'm still alive and very much kicking. Have managed to stay positive through isolation.
Got Covid when my son returned to school and a new grandson in September.
I've managed to lose the 10lbs of Covid weight I gained last year and am working on the next 10lbs so I'll look skinnier in a wedding dress when I get married this July.
Glad you are doing ok - don't be a stranger

OMG grandsons and new husbands are the best things ever!!!!! I am so happy for you! Wookit the face! We atheist socialist RNY vets make awesome grandbabies, don't we??!!!
FYI my students call it the "Covid 19" (as in the "Freshman 15")... the weight they gained last year. I am at 170 now, probably was closer to 180 over the holidays.... so i probably hit the "Covid 19" lol. I didn't get the actual virus (repeated tests and antibody tests negative), but my stepson and son-in-law both did. All well now. Several co-workers got it as well and some are not so lucky.... still recovering weeks or even months later.
My second vaccine is next week, so I am just telling everyone not to breath on me until then.
I hope it didn't take too much out of you physically. I had students with it, healthy 20 year olds, who wheezed like old men walking upstairs afterwards. I spent much of 2020 in goggles, n95 masks and with chapped hands from washing (all of my students got it from home exposures, not school), so I guess I am testament to PPE :)
Ditto don't be a stranger, and glad we are still buying green bananas (or would be if they weren't so high carb).

Ok - I know this post is a few days old, and I really meant to only lurk a bit. But OMG Kim. Those pictures are just so awesome! It makes me happy just looking at them.
You look great like you always do! And all of you together are just the cutest! Congrats on perfect new little cuddly super cute baby. It's beautiful to see you all so happy. Honestly those pictures are pretty much the best part of my day this morning.
hearts!
Walking around now in the Chicago area is, well, an adventure lol (foot of weekend snow).
But I will also admit work issues and a little depression kept me from walking when I had fewer excuses. I figure a lot of us in the same boat, and know that I get it.

In a few days I?ll hit 8 years since my RNY. I had to have emergency surgery when my silent ulcers ruptured (yow buddy, talk about pain)...but mostly I've been very very very happy that I lost the weight, gained confidence, and got strong and healthy. Not that it's been easy or a straight path. But keep on keeping on, as they say and keep your eye on the goal.
At 65 I am currently training for my first Spartan race. I deadlift 185#, bench 65#, run forever (well, okay 5 miles) and am so happy that I finally took that step. I?ll never be able to get rid of that loose skin but I can?t complain about that when there is so much to smile about :)
At son's house in Florida
Hi all! A little update on my training. My trainer said that yes, I do have quite a small frame (just means more weight to lose) but I am still working very very hard to run that Spartan race this year. The interesting thing now is seeing my strength, fitness and balance have given me a lot of ability working around this Alaskan homestead. It IS a lot of work :) Yow. I can do so much more than absolutely any of my friends my age. I'll turn 66 this year but I am so strong, so fit, and can do soooo much more than I ever thought. Do not hesitate ...this thing can change your life, extend it, and make you able to do so much. Just, you know, push yourself!!
Still working very hard at the gym daily; running up mountains (I do live in Alaska), and enjoying the positives I see in my life every day. Not the best pic...but yow. Who'd have thought I'd be here back in 2013!??
