What's on your Thursday menu?
I feel so bad for you. Hope you manage to get more liquid in today. Are just taking care of you and not working? I will anxiously be waiting for your post tomorrow to hear you are on the upswing. God bless

I haven't worked at all this week because I've had no energy at all and can barely make it out the bed most days. My throat hurts so bad that I just don't see how I could work as my job requires me to be on the phone all day with patients and it hurts so much to talk. I really do need to work though because I can't afford to take off work much more. Pretty sure I'm out of PTO. Luckily my supervisor has been pretty understanding. Fingers crossed I am feeling better by tomorrow or at the very least by next week so I can work. I'd much rather be well and working than feeling like this. Blah

Good morning, everybody!
I hate, hate, hate when it is so cold out that the snow crunches like styrofoam when I walk on it. Scrunch, scrunch, scrunch - its like nails on a chalkboard. Oh well, I have only about a week and a half before I go back to Florida for the rest of the winter.
Yesterday was a not good day eating after several strong days in a row. My son cooked dinner, but it wasn't ready until 8:15 and while I was waiting, I snacked until I had basically, replicated a dinner. He also made chocolate chip cookies. So all of my victories with the dishes have been erased.
Marilyn's tennis tournament starts tonight.
Today is not too busy work wise. If it stays that way (and I get all of the smelly water out of the dishwasher), I may get my hair cut this afternoon. We will see.
QOTD: Make a list of everything that you need to accomplish each day and cross things off as they are accomplished. Sometimes if I do something that wasn't on my list, I will write it in just so that I can cross it off.
Breakfast: Protein Bar
Lunch: omlette
Snack: nuts
Dinner: TBD ( I told my son we could order out)
Have a great day, all!

Morning! We got snow here in NC last night. About an inch when I got out of bed around 5:30, but it's mostly gone already. My daughter was able to go out and make the tiniest most pathetic snowman though!
QOTD: The first boss I had when I started managing taught me two things I still think about today. 1) If you have an employee who isn't performing ask yourself "If I put a gun to their head could they do the job?" If the answer is no, it's not the right job for them. If the answer is yes, it's a performance issue. Don't keep someone around who will never be successful. 2) He taught me about the Merrill-Reid Social Personality scale. It's a method of placing your own communication style in relation to other's and relying on yourself to adjust and make communication successful. It's been extremely useful as a logical/analytical/unemotional manager. I don't love it, but sometimes I have to get into the emotional weeds to connect with someone and to be a good leader.
My Food:
- Coffee w/ Cream x3
- I'm debating if I would like to go out and get something for lunch as I'll be out of the house for the first time in...8 weeks at that time of day? So, I'm not sure.
- Pulled Pork w/ Veggies
I took a few days off from spinning. I think I was trying classes that were too beginner for me and to some degree because of my hip recovery I have to keep doing that. But, today I did an Advanced Beginner ride and while it wasn't the hard I'm craving it was better.

Good morning. We've got about 12 hours of sunshine on tap with a chilly day and then an "atmospheric river" is supposed to hit. We are expecting 2 inches of rain in 24 hours. That's a whole lot for San Diego! Really wishing I was off Friday and not out at work in it. I am hoping for a busy work day so it flies by. Making a new recipe for dinner tonight that I am looking forward to trying.

Good Morning Christina and Menuers,
I guess the word of the day is Cold!! It is 20° and snowy. I don't even know how cold with the wind chill factor but they are saying this cold spell will last through the weekend. I am not a fan but I guess I signed up for it since I live in Pittsburgh. I just hope to stay warm and comfy inside for the next couple days.
QOTD: Marriage was never my plan. I never thought I would get married. I met DH when he was 26 and I was 36. He was like a shiny new fun toy. We really got along and he was very good for me. However financially he was not even in my league. He may have been making minimum wage and at that time I was well over a 6 figure salary. I had no intentions of marring him. My dad told me Baby this is the man you need to marry. I said Dad I'll have to support us for the rest of my life I don't want that. Dad said doesn't matter this man will love you till the day you die. He truly love you. We will be married 16 years in February. And I got the Vegas wedding I always dreamed of.

When I was 36, I had been with my husband for 18 years and married for 15 years. My brother's divorce lawyer had a theory that people marry someone at 18 who they cannot stand by the time that they are 27. Then they divorce and find the right person for them when they are around 32.
I wonder what your father's life was like for him to come to a conclusion like that. Did he spend years in a loveless marriage or watch someone who did?
Real life begins where your comfort zone ends
Nope My mom and Dad were happily married for 48 years before he passed. I think he just saw the idiots I dated in the past and realized that my husband truly loved me.
