Good morning!

I'm feeling rather rough around the edges. Can't really put a finger on what it is but I'm not feeling great. We got rain last night! Yay! We needed it badly so I'm glad. Maybe it'll knock down some of the range fire threats down for a while at least.

The only big plan for the day is the appointment for my laser treatment in my right eye. I have to tell you...I was very scared Friday. I could see light and colors but that's it. It's so much clearer now and the laser should zap the rest.

Other than that...no big plans.

qotd: I don'****ch just a whole lot of tv. I do watch finding your roots on PBS(found out I'm related to Glenn Close!). I watch some of the National Geographic stuff on Disney+. We are watching the 3rd season of drain the ocean. I also watch some of the cooking shows on PBS...test kitchen, cooks country...pattis Mexican table and a few others.

b: oatmeal and coffee

l: chicken breast meat, no added sugar BBQ sauce and cooked carrots

d: ???

s: popcorn, fruit and ???

Mornin' All!

my feathers are still a bit ruffled from an online conversation I had last night with another RNY patient with whom I co-led one of my clinic's pre-op classes for three years (basically, until COVID started). I was complaining about my weight (again) and how hard it was to lose five lbs. She asked me to write down what I ate yesterday, and then afterward pointed out that I ate too much fruit and yogurt, and that was why (actually, if I'd have skipped the Elevation Keto bar that I ate to stop my snacking urges, I would have been within my calorie range. That bar contributed 180 calories to my day - YIKES!). I do eat a lot of yogurt - but then, I DON'T eat a lot of meat, and sorry but....a few berries on my yogurt is NOT a lot of fruit. Then she proceeded to write down what SHE ate, which I'm guessing to mean she thought this was a better plan: B: protein shake with a light English muffin w/ whipped cream cheese and four "biscuits" (whatever that meant - not sure), L: Quest chips with a glass of wine, D: leftover firecracker shrimp. OK, so maybe calorie-wise this was better than my plan, but...seriously?? Some of those things are fine, of course, like the protein shake and the shrimp, but overall, I thought my plan was healthier. I might have some of those things for an occasional snack, but not a meal. Her plan reminded me of Weigh****cher days when people would talk about how many points were in a donut, and how they could have a donut instead of much healthier breakfast and still come out the same point-wise at the end of the day. Sheesh. Anyway, that conversation was NOT helpful and kind of ticked me off, to be honest... (in conclusion, I think what I'm eating is fine -- it's just that I'm often eating too many calories by the end of the day - it's the damn snacking - MUST STOP!!)

I'm going to do a livestreamed yoga class this morning - and then Mah Jongg. Nothing else on the agenda, but classes start tomorrow so I need to finish up some things I've been intending to do (but haven't), since my life is about to get a lot busier.

QOTD: I basically never watch TV. I turned the TV on in my bedroom last Sunday morning for the first time in months with the intention of watching some of the Sunday news shows, but I watched maybe ten minutes of one before turning off the TV. I know there are a lot of good things on, but I'm evidently just not into it...

TSS: 5y7m

B: protein shake, coffee with half & half

MS: Greek yogurt with raspberries (I've swapped B and MS the last couple of days since it (usually) seems to help me stay within range for the day)

L: 2-3 oz of turkey breast slices, small sweet potato

AS: 1/2 a protein muffin, L&F yogurt

D: spicy peanut chicken

ex: yoga for sure this morning - plus I'll probably do some kind of cardio video this afternoon or evening. I need it!

I wasn't losing at all until I cut to 1000-1200 plus exercise. it was a hard truth in my case. I love eating 1600-1700 calories a day but in my case, the scale DOES NOT move even with some amazing workouts included.

yes - my issue is definitely related to total calories rather than specific foods. Fortunately, I'll lose if I stick to around 1500 calories - but I've been eating in the 1700s lately (and occasionally more), and I just maintain at that, even with exercise. I was eating in the 1500s this summer and was about seven lbs lighter (biking almost every day helped with that, too, I'm sure). I need to get back down to that - or learn to be happy with where I am weight-wise because I will NOT lose if I continue to eat 1700+ calories a day (I was just thinking that in addition to helping me burn off some calories, biking also kept me out of the house for 1-2 hours most days -- which meant less snacking!)

Yup you got it. You know exactly what you need to do. Now the hard part implementing it. As soon as the bitter cold stops and we are moving more the scale will start moving in the right direction. I am going to blame the weather for you if that is ok. And tell your friend There is no nutritional value in a light English muffin at least your yogurt has protein.

That kind of **** (food shaming) is why it's hard for me to wrap my head around food and my relationship with it.

NO ONE GETS FAT ON FRUIT PHYLLIS (or whatever this person's name was!).

Please don't beat yourself up about five lbs. Feed yourself well, and keep doing what feels good for your body! Fruit is good for you! Your daily menu looks fantastic!

Good morning, everybody!

We are getting a snowstorm tonight. They are saying 6-10 inches, starting at about 3:00. I went grocery shopping and got gas for the snowblower last night, so I think we are stocked up. We even have firewood for the fire, so maybe we will do that tonight.

The weekend was pretty good, it went by fast. Friday night ****tail hour we had these cherry drinks: Gin, Aperol, Sweet Vermouth, Cherry Juice, Ice, Soda Water, and Luxardo Cherries. It was really tasty.

Saturday was gymnastics. We had a demonstration and then 4 weeks of programming (six for me because I will be away) and then we gather together again and see how much progress we have made. Yesterday, I mostly shopped, cleaned and watched some of the football games.

QOTD: Seal Team, Gold Rush, College Football and True Crime dramas.

Breakfast: Turkey meatballs and cottage cheese

Lunch: Mahi Burgers

Snack: nuts

Dinner: Ham

Have a great day, all!

Good Morning Supershopper and Menuers,

Wow what a cold weekend. I got my exercise in every morning then just curled up under a blanket and did nothing else all weekend. Except grazed a lot. I did make some healthy dishes but ate way to much. Today is another day. BTW who knew roasted cabbage was so good and didn't tell me? I took wedges of Cabbage put olive oil and spices on them I used EBTB seasoning wrapped them in bacon and roasted them at 400° for 35 minutes. So good.

QOTD: I am terrible a****ching TV. My head is usually in my phone on TicTok. It is always on but I do not pay to much attention. I do like the 90 day fiancé franchise. I guess I watch a lot of TLC. I also watch the my 600lbs life series as well just to remind me why I did this and why No days off is a good Idea. I had 53 years off now it is time to just be healthy.

Accountability: I am just glad I have no Girl scout cookies in the house or it could have been much worse.

When I felt I needed to be 'scared straight' I would watch the hour long 600 pound life while jumping on my trampoline.

Since I am getting my garage workout area together, I was thinking of getting a fire stick so I can watch in garage on an older TV I have...
