What's on Your Tuesday Menu?
Mornin' All!
I have a Zoom lecture this morning (on the future of the GOP - given by a retired poli sci professor. I LOVE political things!), then I'm taking my mom to an eye appt this afternoon. She gets injections in her retina every few months for macular degeneration and can't drive for a few hours afterward. Nothing else planned for the moment other than exercise...
QOTD: currently Mah Jongg (no surprise there...). I also like doing online crossword puzzles, although I guess technically that's not a game. I also like playing Boggle, although I rarely play it. When I was in my teens I liked playing rummy - and as a young adult loved Trivial Pursuit, back when it was all the rage (I still have c. four different sets - and a couple times a year DH and I will read questions off the cards to each other). Like NYMom, I don't like Monopoly, either - way too long.
accountability has gotten better but still needs some work. I've managed to rein my eating in, but I need to lower my calories a bit more. I have to do it gradually or it doesn't work for long. Exercise has been better lately. I've committed to doing at least 150 minutes a week, and so far, so good. I can handle that...

Good Morning! Thanks for starting us off, Liz. I hope you enjoy the time with your friend. I have a busy day ahead but that means it'll go by quickly and I should try and get to work a bit early and get started.
Accountability: UGH! I need to pull myself together. No looking back, I know I need to stop the cycle. I really need to try a decaf coffee before bed. I didn't sleep well and was up for a few hours overnight and even snacked then.

Good Morning!
Let's be honest - I'm really struggling. Not with food, or water or vitamins. Mentally. I feel like I don't recognize myself these days. It's really got me down. Trying to pull out of this funk.. but I really just want some time away from everything.

Learning my new normal, one day at a time.
I read somewhere it takes a while for our brain to catch up with what we see in the mirror. I get anxious when somebody takes a pic of me unaware and I expect to see my pre-WLS body in the picture. As Kelly said, they operate only on our stomach, not our brain. Hang in there and keep it up.

This too shall pass. I had it bad. I hated what my body turned into. I hated random people speaking to me who I know would not say two words to me if it was pre surgery. I especially hated people who thought I actually gave a **** about their opinion. Oh your too skinny. And you got your Doctors degree where? I promise it gets better. Your doing great just keep up the good work.
