What's on your Saturday menu?
on 1/9/21 4:42 am - Amarillo, TX
good morning everyone. I am glad it's the weekend. The past week has been a **** show kind of week so I'm glad it's nearly over.
I have to get a thoracic spine MRI scheduled for the stimulator and the other stuff. When I get the trial run I won't be able to shower...just sponge baths. I'm hopeful that Medicaid will approve it as the doctor deemed my back a "failed back". So that's a start. I also had the letter he wrote for me. His helper misspelled my name...well the wrong name. Melanie...LOL I've gotten that all my life. Like a d is so hard to put in there. I pick up the new letter Tuesday and I'll get it sent in to the social security office. I'm still upset about my eyes but I'll get over it.
qotd: what's the most useless talent you have?
I think mine is being able to kick myself in the ass.
b: half Ezekiel English muffin, egg and coffee
l: GF breaded sole and a kiwi
d: ???
s: popcorn, maybe another kiwi.
have a great day everyone.

Good Morning!
Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that everything works out for you girl! I don't understand US healthcare.. but it's really unfortunate that you have to fight so hard for the care that you fundamentally deserve.

Learning my new normal, one day at a time.
Mornin'!
I have to fire up the Zoom presentation in about an hour - I'll be glad when this is over. I host Zoom presentations all the time for another group I'm in, but this is the first for this group. I'm hoping a lot of them have already used Zoom and kind of know what to do - since dealing with 100+ newbies, many of whom aren't crazy about technology, could be a challenge. Although this far into the pandemic, I'm guessing a lot of them have used it before.
nothing else on the agenda today other than to get through this. Our US congressperson will be logging in from DC about halfway through the program, so this could be interesting. Hopefully I'll be able to listen closely since I'm often preoccupied with the technology and can't devote 100% of my attention to the speakers. Although we're recording it to post on our Website, so I can always listen to it later....
QOTD: hmmmm....I've never thought about that..I'll give it some thought today and update this if anything pops into mind!
TSS: 5y7m
B: cottage cheese with cranberry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: Fit Frappe
L: 1-2 Costco chicken skewers, "power" salad (broccoli, carrots, kale, cabbage) with light Asian dressing
AS: protein muffin, maybe a L&F yogurt
D: haven't decided. Maybe 1/2 a veggie "burger" on half a slim bun (with a small sweet potato?) - or maybe I'll just throw a frozen cauliflower-crusted pizza in the oven and eat 1/3 of that
ex: I'd better do something since I skipped yesterday. Probably some kind of dance cardio
have a great Saturday, everyone!
Good morning! It's a bright and sunny morning and I love the sunlight streaming through our windows. We had the grand girls last night and gingerbread houses and pizza were a hit. How could we miss on those, right? We are doing the Jurassic Quest today, and then my next obligation is a lunch date on Monday. Hoping to get in a couple walks and yoga videos, but don't think we'll get the bikes out, but maybe.
QoTD: touch my nose with my tongue?
Menu:
B: egg and cottage cheese (I think, nothing sounds amazing this morning)
L: burgers from a local place. I'll eat the patty only, probably
D: Chicken and asparagus
Peace everyone!

Hi Friends! Super quick check in to say hello. I managed my first two days of marathon meetings well. I worked from about 4:30am - 6:30pm Thursday and Friday and I think it will be the same for the next two weeks straight. I didn't exercise a lick, but I am not upset with myself... there are only so many hours in the day, right? I am still working today on the follow-up steps from these meetings then try to start some prep for next week, but I hope to get some good relaxing and movie watching in today!
But in exciting news, my body finally caught up with my new diet (I've been 100% compliant staying between 650 - 900 calories a day for 2 weeks), and I have literally dropped THREE pounds in 2 days. I have checked on multiple scales to be sure its real, haha.
Today's meal plan:
B: Protein Coffee & Chicken Sausage
L: Turkey Meatballs with marinara sauce & parm cheese
D: Lemon Pepper Tuna bake
Snacks: Babybel cheese & 1/4c nuts
