Good morning everyone.

My day started off with a cat on the side of my chest...ouch!

So it looks like they'll be trying for a spinal cord stimulator. The trick will be getting it approved and quickly. I'm ready for less pain so I'm letting myself be hopeful...just a wee bit. The neurosurgeon is writing a personal letter for me to give to social security. Saying that my surgery failed and so on. We'll see if that helps it out. I can't help but feel like a bit of a failure right now but I'm trying really hard to ignore those stupid thoughts.

I have an appointment with the eye doctor at 10:15 and one with the NP at the pain management clinic. This should get the ball rolling on the stimulator. There will be a trial period of about 5-7 days if approved. I'm exhausted this morning. Promises to be a very long day.

qotd: we are supposed to be getting around 4+ inches of snow. We need the moisture so badly!

b: egg, gf toast, vegan butter, reduced sugar jam and coffee

l: homemade chicken salad with dried cranberries, GF table crackers

d: not sure on this yet

s: popcorn, Kay's protein snacks

You are NOT even a bit of a failure! Keep your chin up.

I hope it all works out with the stimulator. I have a friend who had debilitating back pain for years and it has made a huge difference in his life.

So I just got off the phone about the spinal cord stimulator. I'll have to have a thoracic spine MRI and then a 7 day trial. During which I can't shower...just sponge baths. Of course this all depends if Medicaid will be on the ball...which I'm not counting on.

I'm nervous as heck about this. Just so so nervous. If they don't approve this I'll likely end up with a very serious back surgery. Like a 3-4 level fusion. I'm just really messed up over this.

I of course see my retina specialist here in about an hour...so who knows what that'll result in.

If you could spare some positive energy I'd appreciate it.

Well....it keeps getting better.

I have to have two injections...one in each eye...and a laser treatment in each eye. I am flabbergasted and angry. This'll pass but damn I'm angry.

I'm sure it's exhausting and nerve racking but it seems like you've gotten a week of forward progress? Before you didn't know what the next steps were or if there were any available. Your Neuro is helping to dispute the SS removal, you have a testing plan with the new equipment that could indicate a less invasive solution might work and you do havea treatment plan for your eyes. The treatment sounds awful and I'm cringing thinking about it....and sorry you have to go through it but a plan and next steps seems like a good spot to be in!

In the logical part of my brain I wholeheartedly agree. I feel more positive today but I still feel like I'm nursing a wound somewhat. I think reading the letter he wrote kind of shook me. BUT! You are indeed right. A plan is better than nothing. I think things will work out and I'm hopeful.

thank you!
