Good morning all,

It's going to be a quick post for me again today... playing catch up at work and I walked in to find 77 emails in my inbox. Luckily I don't have to respond to most of them.

The 3 day weekend was relaxing but I managed to take down all of my Christmas decorations, got a nice long walk in and also did a 50 minutes beginner cycling program on my indoor bike. I miss being able to just go to the gym but will keep alternating between cycling and weight training at home so I don't lose the momentum I had going with the trainer.

QOTD: As mentioned before I am still in the losing phase and need to be below 800 calories a day. I try to hit at least 80 protein and stay below 30 carbs (this is the tough one since veggies, fruit and even yogurt count towards carbs).

B - protein shake

L - turkey, Asian salad

S - turkey pepperettes

D - stir-fry of chicken breast, broccoli, peppers, mushrooms, garlic

S - 1/2 protein shake or greek yogurt

Good morning and Happy New Year. My life has been very puppy centric but I'm doing ok. Really not happy to be back at work again but what can you do. I started Whole30 this morning. I'm not sure how I'm going to do but I will say that my coffee tasted like poop without dairy and sugar substitute this morning.

QOTD: I'm horrible at tracking but if I do its carbs and protein.

B: Coffee with Nutpod, two eggs cooked with ghee

L: Zuppa Toscano soup (Whole30 compliant)

D: Chicken breast with potatoes and green beans

NEED TO DRINK MORE WATER!

E: 45 bike trainer ride

Have a great day everyone :)

God help me, I think I could give up almost any food and be okay, but if you mess with how I make my coffee...there is hell to pay! I literally couldn't do it.

I'm really not sure how I'm going to deal. I'm still researching if there are any alternatives I can use.

I have no idea if this is Whole30 compliant, but I have started adding half of a Premier Protein caffe late protein shake (15g) into my iced coffee instead of flavored creamer or half and half and sugar-free syrup. Now that I am back to morning workouts, I figure I should get some protein in right after the workout and since I don't eat breakfast for another couple of hours, the premier in the coffee helps!

When I was wearing myself off sugar in my coffee, I switched to flavored coffee vs just plain. Hazelnut, vanilla, all of them. It helped!

G'morning all!

Happy New Year.

JB - that cat is ME to a T after the holidays. I haven't tracked since Dec 15, and haven't worked out either. Curious why I stopped on Dec 15? Got a gourmet basket from a client, full of yummies. That was the rabbit hole and I didn't stop till this morning. But I'm back on the wagon, except for weighing. Too scared to weigh, so I'm giving myself till Friday before I weigh and see the damage. I'm thinking about 10 lbs. Raining cats and dogs here, so today will be strength training indoor.

QOTD: with MFP I track protein, carbs and cals; in that order. Sweet spot is 80-100 gr of protein, under 30 carbs and around 1000-1100 cals.

Accountability: ate like my pre WLS person so practically sh*t!

My planned meals for today:

  • B: protein coffee
  • L: hb eggs & tuna
  • S: L&F yogurt
  • D: chicken skewers or turkey meatballs
  • E: 30 minutes cardio + 50 minutes strength training

Happy start of the week!

Afternoon! Today feels so hard after a nice 13 day break. I knew it would be this way - I was looking forward to Christmas after a really crappy year and now it's over and the only thing I have to look forward to is on-going quarantine until it's time for vaccines. I did purchase myself a Schwinn IC4 spin bike though and I do look forward to gaining more and more ability to use it to its full potential as I heal further.

QOTD: The only macro I pay attention to is carbs and I don't count them. Because I have diabetes I need to balance out my daily carbs and they come in lower than the 'average' person. I try to add a portion of carbs to each meal/snack that I know my 'dude on the couch' in my pancreas can handle. He always gets around to producing some insulin, but he really needs a hard poke sometimes. My meals still tend to be weighted by protein and I really rarely eat a meal that doesn't contain a protein focus. I also have to acknowledge that I have a sweet tooth and if I accommodate it rather than try to avoid it I eat less. I ate a Reese's tree nearly every day in November - I love them and it's only 170 calories, they work for my diabetes (when timed properly), and they satisfy my taste for sweets.

My Food:

  • Coffee w/ Cream x3
  • Eggs, Leftover Potatoes, Onions, Peppers, Bacon, Sour Cream
  • TBD, I forgot to pull anything out so I've been sitting here considering. Maybe something with chicken breast in the instant pot since I can cook those from frozen.

Happy Monday and Happy New Year. Back to the grind. I wasn't ready for the week to start, but the week didn't care about my feelings. I think I have to go into the office once this week, so New Year, same old crap. I have a chiropractor appointment this afternoon. My hip and shoulder are still really sore from my accident, and I decided it's time to try and get treatment. Because of Covid numbers, I've been hesitant to go out much, but need to get on this. Also, I picked up the car on Saturday and on Saturday night received a call from the dealer that they made a mistake in the contract, so I need to go back out there and re-sign. Luckily, it's close to my appt. location so I'm ok doing it. If it wasn't I wouldn't be too happy. It's about 35-40 minutes away from my house.

QOTD: I track calories, protein and carbs. I've become pretty lax with my tracking, but that ended today. Back to my good habits. Give me strength and wish me luck!

My plan:

B: Egg bites (I bought new ones at Costco that were 70 cals per bite (2 WW points) I like the Three Bridges brand better, but these were a good price and are frozen, so last longer.) Also, a fairlife latte

L: Leftover chicken marsala with veggies

D: Ugh no idea. Maybe a bunless burger

S: mini kind bar before spin

E: Parking lot spin

Good luck with the chiro!

Those egg bites sound intriguing! What is the brand?
