Good morning everyone and happy hump day!

I am going to take a digital detox for the rest of the year -- my iPad told me my screen time was up 187% last week and that seems excessive. I'll be back on line and on here come Monday.

QOTD - I stopped shaking hands years ago, at least during cold and flu season, after we had a big cold/repiratory issue at an internal conference which turned into pneumonia for me so I look forward to everyone joining me in the never shaking hands again paradigm...I also expect to see a lot less internal work travel even after restrictions are relaxed. We can save the travel dollars for customers/vendors and skip most of the internal F2F meetings.

Menu today will be

coffee + half and half X 3

B - GF toast with PB Ricotta

L. -cold brew skyr

D - TBD

S - warm milk with SF eggnog

I have a massage at 10 and I'll probably do either a neighborhood walk or a studio rowing session

Have a great rest of the week, happy new year and see you next week!

Nice job staying on track JB! I am still mired in "I don't care world". Which BTW is not where I like to be so hopefully once I get back to Florida I can perk up and start to care again.

We found some neat takeout places yesterday - they used to be just caterers but with the pandemic have established small storefronts.

Today DS is cooking for my 2 SILs and me.

QOTD: I think the increased attention to cleanliness in public areas is a huge plus. And the expanded outdoor dining options would be great if they stay. I can't think of much else that I would like to retain.

TSS: 4 years, 9 months

B: Coffee!!! eggs and cottage cheese

L: leftover pheasant

D: Tofu in peanut sauce

S: yogurt pie

Good morning! It's 41 outside, and I am freezing! I had a good day yesterday food wise and got in most my fluids. I'm still not a big water drinker, which is a bummer because I drank it like crazy before. But fake coffee, tea and gatorade zero fill up my day. Looks like a short work day today because by 2 they are going to have to start tearing down our desks for the floor re-do. Then I am off for 5 days! NO MORE WORK MONDAYS for me! Yay. We have basically zero plans for the next 5 days except to babysit the grand dogs. That makes nearly 400 pounds of dogs running around our house for weekend. I feel a good amount of our life will be taken up in vacuuming and sweeping up dog hair. I did some modified push ups yesterday and some great stretching. I hope to build on that to get back into a routine.

QOTD: I've definitely cooked at home 90 +% of this pandemic. I'd like to continue the trend. For years it's been way to easy to just opt to grab something out, walk to the village for dinner, etc. Since March, I have planned a menu almost every week for all the meals and we have done a good job of staying to it. I've also worked really hard on not wasting food. That has meant more precooking of things and repackaging for freezing, but also gives me more grab and go options for work lunches and those days where I feel like if I have to use a skillet, I'll probably use it to smack someone upside the head. Again, let me note here I am grateful the hubs is a clean freak and that he always does the dishes. Even though he does gripe sometimes that he thinks I am on a mission to try to use every dish we own in some meal preps.

Menu:

B: 2.5 oz roasted turkey and 1/4 C cottage cheese

L: 3 oz roasted turkey, 1/4C refried beans and a sprinkling of cheddar

D: chicken thighs pan "fried" with red and orange bell pepper and onions on spaghetti squash.

S: I didn't have a bite of toffee again yesterday, so I am still reserving space for it today. And a glass of wine.

Peace Everyone!

Good Morning JB and Menuers,

So I planned a day off of running this morning due to the fact I have no treadmill for today. I thought even though I set the alarm for an hour later I would still get up at 5:30. I was shocked when I slept till the bell. When the alarm rang it actually scared me. Not very often do I need it to wake up. I usually shut it down before it rings.

Remember I was *****ing(but don't I always) about my new office? So the owner, my direct boss, was standing inside my office door yesterday when I came into work. I said oh I am here what do you need? I thought he was looking for me. He said no I was just looking at the windows. I was like well I do not have a window you gave the to my arch nemesis(I used his name). Boss says we can put a window in!!!! I can't believe I may get a window after I acted like a brat. And I am actually happy with the size and location of the office. I will keep you updated if it actually comes to fruition.

QOTD: I want to continue to run outdoors. It is so much better than the gym. I love the solace and the mental cleansing I achieve in the great outdoors. I also do not want to return to the routine of eating out as often. I really believe that cooking at home has helped me maintain my weight loss. Since the pandemic I can count on 1 hand how many times I ate something that was not cooked by myself.

Accountability: Opposite of yesterday. I ate a fit crunch bar before bed and a bunch of Peatoes (pea based onion rings like funyons) I grabbed them at Sam's Club and I need to hide them. And the scale was down??? Please someone tell me. I am sure it was water weight or colon needed cleaned.

TSS: 3 years 0 Months and 19 day 131.6 (Lowest 129.4)

MS: Premier Apple cinnamon oats Protein shake and berries

L: Eggwhich and snack selects.

D: Grilled cheeseburger and Veggie tots.

Exercise: Done

Water and vitamins: On track. I take a Bariatric Advantage Ultra multi w/iron I use bariatric advantage Calcium chews and my blood work has been great. My B12 has been High so I cut my sublingual to every 3rd or 4th day. And I have now added 500mg of Magnesium

Everybody have a Great day.

Brightest Blessing

it is just too easy to grab that tortilla chip or bread when waiting for your meal in a restaurant. So if it isn't there you can not eat it. Very happy how my diet has gone through all of this.

Good morning all.

I just got off the phone with Texas health and human services. They have no record or notifications of my coverage stopping. Sooo I get to call back Monday and see what they say then. I'm so so sooooo stressed out guys. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm just at a loss. I have to get my eyes checked out next Friday. I have two appointments...one with my pain management specialist and my neurosurgeon on the 7th. I'm soooo stressed out!

Food yesterday was a little crazy but I've got to do better. I've got to care...somehow dig that out of the abyss that is my soul right now.

qotd: I don't miss hand shaking and hugging some people. It's funny I miss hugs from some but some others...not at all. My hands resemble sand paper after all the hand sanitizer BUT I will likely use that a lot even after this virus stuff is better.

b: egg, toast, sausage and coffee

l: chicken soup I'm thinking in the instant pot

d: prob soup again

s: popcorn, gf bread and ???

Mornin' All!

well, today is my official weigh day, and I'm up 3.2 lbs since last week. I feel every ounce of it. There is no way in hell I ate an extra 11,000 calories since last Wednesday, so I know it's mostly water, but given the Christmas disaster and every other day being either at the top of my calorie range or a bit over, a pound or so of it is probably true weight. But up 3.2 lbs? UGH. I did well yesterday with eating and exercise, but this is going to take a lot more work. I'll be really watching it again today - and exercising. And the rest of this week, too. I HATE feeling like this!!

I have Mah Jongg at 10:00, but that's it for today. I need to finish up my Christmas cards and work more on a Zoom template I'm setting up for a presentation in a couple of weeks. The host wants to use Meeting mode rather than Webinar mode so she can have breakout sessions, and this is going to take a lot more thought and configuration than just firing up a Webinar. I've never done a large presentation like this in Meeting mode - so many little things to consider and work around, like security. Webinar mode is so much better suited for this kind of thing.

QOTD: the two big ones have to do with not being able to go to the gym in person. First, I bought a used bicycle in May so I could get some exercise other than walking. I'm completely hooked on biking now, after MANY years of never doing it. I'll keep this up (in nice weather, that is) forever. The second is virtual fitness classes. I LOVE them! No driving in snow, no driving in rush hour traffic, I have access to classes to all three branches of my gym now (well, I could have gone to them before, but two of the branches are pretty far from my house). I can slack off for a few minutes and jus****ch - or end a few minutes early. Plus I can more easily fit classes into my schedule since I just have to go down to the basement and not across town. And I can do my own thing in dance cardio classes if whatever they're doing is bothering my bad hip, without feeling conspicuous. They announced yesterday that a lot of the classes are moving back to in-person after the first of the year, and I immediately shot off an email to the CEO to voice my concerns - first about not wanting to go back to the gym yet because of COVID, and secondly about how much I LOVE virtual classes, for the reasons I listed. I hope they'll keep at least some of them online - although I wish they keep them ALL online - I love having lots of choices every day! (I know I can do youtube videos - I do some of those now - but given the choice, I'd go for the livestream ones...)

B: Greek yogurt, coffee with half & half

MS: will probably skip since I won't be eating breakfast until 9:30 or later

L: turkey chili, maybe a light caesar salad (no parm, light dressing)

AS: 1/2 a protein pumpkin muffin and Carbmaster cinnamon yogurt, protein shake

D: 2 oz turkey breast, small sweet potato

ex: definitely some kind of cardio! I'm feeling like a whale this morning!

Good morning, everybody!

This will be my last post for the year, so I want to wish everybody a Happy New Year. Last year started with a lavish party in the middle area of a cruise ship off of New Zealand and ended up being 2020. Hopefully, it reverses this year as 2021 will start with quiet night at home.

We got about three inches of snow yesterday. Enough to make everything look pretty, but not a lot of trouble.

Yesterday was another better day of eating, so hopefully I am transitioning back to more normal eating patterns. I think that when we are in Florida, I will start MFP again. I actually lost through quarantine, then lost too much when I was sick, and then gained back to where I was at the beginning of quarantine. I want to get back to where I was September 17th, before that dentist appointment.

QOTD: No alarm clock, no commute, sneakers, less restaurant eating, my garage gym. Actually a lot of things. But I suspect most of them have more to do with not having to commute into the office than the pandemic.

Breakfast: Protein bar

Lunch: burger

Snack: nuts

Diner:TBD

Have a great day, all!

Good Morning! I'm checking in late since I didn't get up early to work out. I need to take a few rest days as it seems I have yet another injury-hard to explain but the bones in my right foot hurt (same foot I rolled my ankle) so I'm trying to be careful. It woke me up throbbing overnight so I know it's best to rest it.
