What's on your Tuesday Menu?
Good morning, I have meant to come on here and post for the past week and life got in the way. We had a fantastic Christmas but of course I have had way too much carbs and sugar. I LOVE baking and this year I made 20 different kinds of cookies, candies, and fudge and made and distributed over 20 cookie platters to family, friends, and co-workers. I wore gloves and a mask while making the platters and the cookies had all been quarantined at least 48 hrs in cold before distribution. Everyone's was delivered by ding dong ditch and it was nice to spread some joy.
Also, Christmas day we were surprised with news that a puppy would be joining our family. I'm pleased to introduce Piper the goldendoodle.
So far she is fitting in well with our 8 year old pup Charlie and 4 year old cat Prim.
QOTD: We always stay in and play board games and eat appetizers with the kids. Luckily Covid does not change those plans (finally something!)
No menu planned, just trying to stay away from the leftover cookies. Ugh.
Is it just 2 days to New Years Eve? I'm glad this year is ending soon to tell the truth.
Justice had a somewhat traumatic day yesterday after his vet appointment. I have to find a vet in Florida to get his teeth cleaned. But he also has an ear infection on one side and has an antibiotic pack in that ear. I think it has reduced his hearing on that side which has him really freaked out. Chihuahuas have really acute hearing so I guess it makes him feel really off.
DS made pheasant yesterday - really good! Like chicken but with a bit more flavor and more moist (though the latter might be because of how he cooked it).
QOTD: No plans - I'd just as soon skip it.

Good Morning! Late check in for me. My boss gave me today off since we will likely be working both days this weekend (we are closed Friday and checks are cut Tuesday). I slept in a bit and am just now getting my exercise in. Yesterday I think I ate everything possible I had at my fingertips. I hate the lack of control I feel happens when I throw in the towel for the day. I really try hard not to do that and correct the next meal or whatever but I still end up writing the whole day off. I know, still wish the surgery fixed our brains too. Which speaking of brains, I almost didn?t take today off even after my boss offered it. The "old" me at my other job would have not taken it to show some sort of dedication or something (I don?t know what else to call it). So I really thought it over and decided I was taking it or I would regret it when I am busting my tail on the weekend.
Accountability: See above. Today I'll do my best to stay focused on some self care and out of the pantry.
QOTD: We will be staying home. Probably watch the ball drop at midnight Eastern. We usually have my sister, BIL and nephew over for game night but this year we are postponing.

Good for you for taking the time! It's horrible how we are wired to see "more hours" as proof of dedication...and then we wonder why so many people struggle with work life balance!

I'm embarrassed to admit how long I thought about it last night before I decided. Also, considering I don't start to accrue PTO for another few months it seemed the best to take the opportunity given. I also will have a very long stressful day Monday and it's my birthday... so that helped make my decision too.
