Well would you look at that, I am already rocking the Dec 31 look a few days early! Go me!

Not much to report over here. Yesterday was a super nice slow and quiet day. I was supposed to have 4 meetings but 3 got canceled! Whoo! But all of my extra time was spent on HOLD with 3 different banks and mortgage companies, trying to figure out a missing mortgage payment. Someday I will tell you the long version of this story, but the short version I was on hold for 4+ hours and talked to a lot of surly, unhelpful humans. Grr. Luckily I actually had the time to be patient and get it dealt with. Today should be a little busier at work, but still a nice quiet day!

QOTD: As requested by DC Girl... What are your plans for 2020's Pandemic New Year? I'm having a hard time thinking about anything that is not food related for us... We have absolutely no plans and don't usually stay up until midnight even in other years, so whatever we do will be low key, anyway. The only thing I could think of that might be fun, is to drive into Boston and get takeout from our favorite restaurant. I have a gift card that I have been waiting to use for a year! But I am trying to be better about not celebrating all of life's moments with food again, so I will be interested in reading your ideas and seeing what you all have planned. It will probably just be like every other day off, tbh.

Okay for accountability--I was back on track food-wise yesterday and ended the day at 790 calories and stayed under my fat and carb goals for the first time in a dogs age. No real exercise, but it's a step in the right direction. I have another meeting with the WLS counselor tonight and I am not terribly excited to tell her how I have been doing. I tracked my "all or nothing" thinking like she asked and... yeah I am kind of a mess on that. I give up so quickly when things are not perfect, and things have not been perfect :(

Good morning!! Happy Tuesday!

QOTD - one of my favorite bands is doing a no audience, full band performance live stream on Christmas Eve so I paid for the $25 virtual ticket. Much cheaper than if it was normal life and I tried to go out on NYE (I never actually go out on NYE)...I expect there to be a decent amount of fireworks from my neighbors too -- they usually do a bunch at NYE and if the 4th of July overkill was any indication, there's going to be more this year.

I did see that one of the local music venues up in Golden is doing two seatings on NYE, $100 per couple up to 6 people per table, with dessert, live music and a champagne toast -- they have big garage doors that they can open and are telling people to dress for outdoors plus masks so I hope they sell out their small capacities since they are meeting all the requirements (including being done by 8pm)

I should have more of a plan for food today but I don't.

3 coffee + half and half

I made my own baked ricotta with PB and Banana, non sweetened so I get to try that this morning with a slice of GF toast

probably a keto yogurt

not sure about dinner

Have a great Tuesday everyone!!

Hello! Good Morning! Me again..

this holiday season was effing hard. I had some cookies, and honestly I'm trying super hard not to beat myself up about it.. but I'm not doing that fabulous. Overall - even with the cookies my calories are never high.. but I've been tired and sluggish from not meeting my protein or water goals. I am disappointment in myself to say the least.

This week I've been playing with Apple fitness + doing some of their 20 minute workouts. Some kick my ass, others are fine.

QOTD: we are getting together with one other couple. I have no idea what we are doing.. but the boyfriend is excited that I'm the DD this year.. should be interesting.

I don't know what I'm eating today. There are many many turkey leftovers in the fridge.. so most likely be based around that. I am determined to get my head back in the game and continue to slay my goals.

Holidays are rough on everybody. Do not beat yourself up. Especially now since you still have malabsorption and a couple cookies wont do to much damage. Today is a new day. Good luck.

Dust yourself off and keep moving. Rather than focusing on the cookies focus on getting your protein and water in order... I am preaching to myself as well... I have always been great about protein and water and over the holidays it has been hard...

Morning from the Outer Banks! We're at the beach again. We're in a giant 5,300 sq/ft beach house with just my immediate family and my brother. This wasn't the plan, but Covid, of course. There are houses on either side of us that are 10-12 bedrooms and have 6-8 cars in the driveway. So apparently they didn't anyone who couldn't quarantine and get a test. We come here every year the week after Christmas and this is the coldest it has been so far (low-mid 40's and low 50's). Of course 2020 couldn't even bless us with some 60-degree weather before she left. One year ago we took a boat trip to an island full of amazing shells and it was warm enough to go wading out to find them. Go home 2020, we're over you.

QOTD: We'll be here at the beach and don't have any specific plans. I may put together some snacks for us rather than doing a full meal that evening. I also brought a bottle of Prosecco to share. I love it, but given it has bubbles I almost never drink it since I don't drink an entire bottle to myself (unless I really wanted to hurt the next day). If I take a nap I may be able to stay up until midnight. We'll see.

My Food:

  • Bottomless Coffee w/ Cream (Hey! It's vacation, I'm not counting today!)
  • Eggs, Sweet Potato, Bacon, Sour Cream
  • Baked Mac & Cheese - my brother's specialty and my kid's request

When I was about 10 my family took me to that Island and we brought back so many conch shells. My that was over 40 years ago. There was 1 structure that this older couple ran a little convivence type store . And I remember there were a bunch of abandon cars and military equipment and bunkers there. I still have those Conch shells.

There are multiple of these islands. I think most of the tiny little islands in this area catch shells due to the currents. The one we went to was called Shackleford Island, but we had options of a couple others as well. One of them was known for sand dollars vs shells. This Island didn't have any buildings on it, but did have wild horses!

hi all

QOTD: starting with this since I have no plans. we were thinking to go get takeout. I might suggest going for a long walk someplace instead together. I can relate to the everything surrounding food concept because that is how I've lived my life. after surgery was easier since I just ate then did something else . maybe I need to start readopting those habits.

today i'm working then deciding on gym. I have been taking it easy since we got back to GA plus the gym owners got covid so now I don't want the germs though technically its been long enough to be dead unless there are people spreading it.

I actually input my food today somewhat last night. will try to not veer too much off this.
