Good morning!

My first time ever starting a thread. Feeling very Gen X-er right now. I hope everyone recovered from Christmas day and landed back on their feet. I got a short walk in yesterday, and waaaaaay too much tv time. No bike ride. I did however do really well with my choices, and even included a tiny serving of spaghetti with browned butter and mizithra cheese. First pastas since August 2019. I had maybe 1/8th cup, and really enjoyed it. The scale shed a few ounces today. There has been lots of sodium in my food this week, so I blame that more than anything.

QoTD: what National Park would you like to visit? I'm going to start with all of Zion. I got to do tiny corner of it, and the colors are amazing!

Menu:

B: jerky and cheddar whisps

L: leftover turkey, a bit of stuffing, some avocado that I must use up

D: leftover ham and salad. I'll warm up mashed potatoes for the hubs and Dad so they have a bit of carbs

S: a bite of toffee with a cup of fake coffee

Peace Everyone!

Happy Sunday all! I got back home yesterday from my parents house. My mom wanted me to stay longer, but I was eating too many foods that were not on plan and there were just too many temptations there. We had a standing rib roast for Christmas dinner with mashed potatoes and a delicious broccoli casserole. I got just a tiny spoonful of each. I did have a roll too and a slice of gingerbread cake for dessert. If that wasn't bad enough, I was nibbling on different cookies and treats all day long so I had to get out of there before I gained 50 pounds! I weighed this morning for the first time in 3 days and while I did NOT want to see and acknowledge that number on the scale, I knew I had to face it so that I could get back on track. My weight is up which I'm not surprised about.....more than I would like, but it could have definitely been worse. So it's back on track today! Wish me luck!

QOTD: There are so many I'd love to see! I'd maybe like to start with the Grand Canyon national park. That's one place I'd love to visit before I die.

B: coffee w/Splenda & sf creamer x 2

B2: protein shake

L: celery sticks & hummus

D: leftovers of some sort

S: protein shake or fruit

mornin'!

originally we were going to go over to MIL's apt to check her computer for malware - and she and DH were going to eat muffins - and then she was going to come over here for leftover Christmas foods for dinner (lasagna and cheesecake, at miminum), but she was up all night with an upset G/I tract and wanted to sleep this morning, and now they're talking about freezing rain later on this afternoon, so suffice it to say - both plans are off. I'm glad because I really blew it foodwise on Christmas day. Yesterday was fine, but I have to have a few more days of "normal" eating before I can allow myself to indulge a little. Today would have been potentially dangerous if we'd have stuck to the original plan.

I need to get some kind of exercise today since I didn't do anything yesterday, and I'd also like to finish up my Christmas cards (I'm late getting them out almost every year...)

QOTD: I'm more of a city person, but I should probably see Grand Canyon, at least, before I die! So that one for sure...

TSS: 5y6m

B: plain Greek yogurt with 1/2 C strawberry compote, coffee with half & half

MS: Fit Frappe

L: either pulled chicken in a chipotle/tomato sauce or 2 oz sliced turkey breast with a small sweet potato

AS: protein pumpkin muffin - or a light yogurt with fruit

D: whatever I don't have for lunch I'll have for dinner. And I may allow myself a small piece of cheesecake if I can fit it into my calorie range...

have a great Sunday!!

QOTD: Dry Tortugas. There are a bunch we haven't been to and they all look beautiful. But it was 9 degrees in Chicago the other day.

Hello for Sunday and thanks for getting us started!

my eyes appear to be better or at least no longer bleeding...the graininess is gone. I am going to call first thing in the morning about it and hopefully get in tomorrow or Tuesday. I'm really hoping to get in before my insurance coverage stops on Friday. I'm so stressed out over all of this stuff I've got going on. I've been off plan for 4 days total and I've paid a price. My whole body is in revolt. Stomach issues...my upper lip is inflamed and heck...my headache is constant. It's better today. My goal is to stay away from gluten and dairy today. Tomorrow I'll reign in the calories. Don't get me wrong...I'm not going crazy or anything with calories. Just not being super strict. I feel like I couldn't get enough to eat at the moment so it's a fight. I've been feeding my depression instead of nourishing my body. Amazingly my blood sugars haven't been awful either way. No crashes and nothing to awfully high.

This has been the worst Christmas I think I've ever had. Just a mix of stuff and stress...mostly stress. My feelings were hurt and now I need to put my big girl pants on and get over it or at least move on.

qotd: zion, Yosemite...I'd love to see Yellowstone in the winter! Grand Canyon...wait...I want to see em all! Lol

I have food allergies and rosacea. When my rosacea flares up because I ate/drunk things I know I should have avoided, not only my left cheek is all red, hot and rough, but it's also swollen, and my left eye get blurry, foggy. It almost feel like the left glass in my eyeglasses is dirty. I'm under a care of of retina specialist for years, and when my rosacea and face swelling flares, my retina has a few swollen areas. Food allergies that affect my face, it also affect my eyes. Left eye is weaker and there is a minor retina defect in it, so it gets more affected by the reaction.
