What's on your Tuesday Menu?

Good morning everyone.

I'm feeling a lot better stomach wise. My eating has been ****ty...to say the least. The day goes well but once night hits I just explode. I know this is a big reason for my upset stomach. I've been eating gluten and dairy...while not tons it's apparent they are really messing with me. I'm really having a hard time with SAD and the regular depression I deal with. All I'm getting is money for Christmas so I guess I'll be buying me a light therapy device. I'm just a heck of a hot mess. Christmas this year is depressing.

Not much planned for the day. We will have the kids until 4 something today. My niece Riley most likely has a bladder infection so she'll likely be going to the doctor today...not sure what that'll entail for us...it'll be figured out. Poor girl!

qotd: eggs Benedict...I've only had it once but I loved it. Other wise a homemade breakfast burrito with sausage, egg, REAL cheese, hash browns and sweet jalapeños....oh and onion!

b: oatmeal with PB2 and coffee

l: cabbage with ???

d: probably left over cabbage with some chicken chunks

s: popcorn and ???

I bought a therapy light and use it every morning. What is so funny is my cat loves it. As soon as I turn it on, she runs and lays in front of it soaking up rays.

Those cookies look amazing!!! I would never have the patience to do that. I make almond balls, roll them in powdered sugar, and shake red and green sprinkles on top. Not much work.

Today seems a bit warmer so I should be able to do a better beach walk with Justice. I have been trying to take him there daily as it is good for both of us physically and mentally.

QOTD: Probably traditional eggs Benedict with home fries. But I am happy these days with poached eggs on light toast as a sort of substitute (LOL)

TSS: 4 years, 9 months

B: Coffee!!! eggs and light toast

L: tunafish and cottage cheese

D: not sure - maybe some chicken?

S: strawberry cheesecake yogurt pie and/or air fried carrot chips and/or 1 WW point SF cookies

Hi JB and all!

Such a funny question - I am NOT a breakfast person. I always get something from the lunch menu when I can. I do love potato pancakes when I can find them at a diner. At home, for a few years post op I ate boars head ever roast chicken, cheese and avocado for breakfast like 350 days of the year. Now it varies, but it's usually not a typical breakfast food :) I love breakfasts in other countries - bread and cheeses and meats in Germany, lentil soup in Turkey, hard boiled egg and olives and pita in the Middle East...yum!

Nothing so glamorous going on here. I am going to put in a couple of hours of work today and I have to make a gluten-free cake for a friend who just spent her birthday in the hospital due to complications (staph infection) from an elective tummy tuck. I will double mask and drop it off on her porch and wave to her, either today or tomorrow, along with some meals for her and her boys. Poor thing. She had to go to the ER to check in on her birthday and you know how every single time a nurse comes up to see you, check your vitals, change your antibiotics IV, give you pain meds...they verify your name and date of birth. She said every time she told them her name and her birthdate being THAT day, all of the nurses were like "Ohhhh I am so sorry you are here on your birthday!". She was lying on a bed in a hallway wearing two masks for 10 hours before they could get her a bed in a room :(

B: Leftover meat sauce with ricotta

L: Leftover fajita chicken and poblano peppers and onions

D: TBD, I think I may do cod tonight. And maybe potatoes for the boys.

Hope everyone has a lovely and not too strenuous day!

Em

I am so sorry for your friend. Ouch.... Glad you are looking out for her. While they consider all plastic surgery to be elective, I always considered my 'reconstructive' not 'cosmetic'.

So sorry for your friend. No one expects things like that to go wrong but it happens. And I agree with Cynthia on terminology: "reconstructive".

Who could compete to that gorgeous tray of cookies? Congratulations!

QOTD: This is a hard one because I like all the breakfast foods. And even tough I m a northerner girl in the south, I do love me some grits with eggs. I tend to always like pancakes and french toast made at home, as I am rarely satisfies when I eat them out. Blueberry Pnacakes are my absolute fav. Now I make them with Carbquik and Premier protein as the liquid...so easy and delicious. Also sausage is always questionable out as there can be a huge variation in taste.... bacon and home fries? crispy please. Lets not forget a good old NY bagel.... Bagel 'all the way" at a diner will cost you an arm and a leg.... but some good Lox with cream cheese and red onion and tomato? Yum. Did I say I like all the breakfast foods???

So yesterday I thought I was having a good day, was being really conscious of eating regularly - which is very important for me.... and boom I was in Walgreens and started to have a Blood Sugar crash.... Brain goes fuzzy, and the nearest thing was a container of mini donuts to buy.... it did the trick, but pissed me off....

Food:

  • Greek yogurt, protein muffin
  • Chicken salad on salad
  • steak and veggies
  • S: protein, Balanced break, fruit

EX: Virtual personal training session.

One of the cool things about my new house, is I have this awesome 2 car garage. So I am able to park my car in it, have storage and have a workout space. It is totally finished, painted floors and walls, a mural on the wall, cable hook-up, a ceiling fan....and has a screen that slides across the open garage door. I know it will be uber rough in summer and I will need to move indoors, but right now it is glorious...

Oh how cool a great workout area. If I ever move a nice workout space will be on the things of must haves. I am stuck in DH's man cave for now.
