Do you have a teaching hospital near you? We have UPMC a university hospital. My friend went a full year after twisted bile syndrome could not hold down a thing. Same as you many trips to the ER but I told her she needed to go to a learning hospital because they actually care. If you go to a for profit hospital they only bandage **** and pray you come back so they can bang your insurance again. Sorry if this offends but this is my experience with for profit hospitals. Within 1/2 hour in the university hospital they had her in the OR and fixed the issue. The surgeon in the For profit never reattached the Petersen's space. Have they checked you for this Defect. It just sounds so similar to what my friend dealt with for a year. She was back to normal in 1 week. Listen I am not a doctor or even a nurse for that matter but I am pissed no one is doing anything for you so I thought I would throw this out to you. Hope your answers come soon.
This is what I found online.
Internal hernia is a known complication after gastric bypass, especially when performed laparoscopically.
Potential internal locations include a transverse mesocolon defect; Petersen's space, the area between the mesentery of the Roux limb and the transverse mesocolon; and a jejunojejunostomy mesenteric defect. Herewith is the description of our standard technique of routine closure of Petersen's space with 2/0 non-absorbable sutures.

This is very NON -SIMILAR but reflects a "chronic" diagnosis - basically when th doctorz throw up their hands .... I found a patient with VERY similar issues in the emergency room.
Mebbe God put us together ... who knows ... but she introduced m 2 a GREAT doc who specialized in my ( breathing .. or rather non-breathing )issue and who believed in doing EVERYTHING first before prescriptions.
He LITERALLY salvaged my day 2 day life .
He gave me a free government funded 28 our a week aide ... who was tasked to clean my home from walls down to floors regularly without using bleach or chemicals .
I have lost touch with my friend because she had prescription pill issues and he fired her as a patient . I'm ashamed of myself for allowing this .
All I can say is my OWN experience ... I was lucky enuf that exercise and self discipline and the daily JOY I derived from completing my self -appointed exercise ( and vitamin and food related ) tasks ...carried m thru 2 great health .
I SO wish th best 4 U ! hugs
Mornin'!
Not much going on today. I may take a Zoom yoga class at 10:00. My right hip has been really bothering me the last few days (I have arthritis in it - and it was injured from a winter fall 10 or so years ago, which I never fully recovered from). Not sure if I overdid it with all the online Zumba classes or if it's weather-related or just acting up on its own - but I think I'll refrain from cardio dancing for a few days. Yoga (or walking) should be OK, though.
We also need to try jumping my car sometime today. It's been dead the last two days (luckily, we rarely go anywhere these days, and we have two cars, so I haven't needed it). I'm pretty sure it's just the battery - but we'll know for sure after trying to jump it. Other than that, I may do some baking. A friend of mine gave me a rosemary bush the other day for Christmas, so I've been trying to think of something to give HER. She doesn't cook - so I'm thinking some food item. Maybe biscotti. I often make cranberry white chocolate biscotti this time of year, so maybe that. My MIL loves those, so between the two of them, I should be able to get most of them out of the house...
QOTD: I'm drawing a blank! I'll come back and update this if anyone pops into mind
TSS: 5y6m
B: 1/2 a protein pumpkin muffin, Carbmaster cinnamon yogurt, coffee with half & half
MS: Fit Frappe
L: turkey chili
AS: probably yogurt with 1/2 diced mango - or raspberries (or both...)
D: if the (pre-cooked) turkey breast I took out of the freezer is fully thawed, then 2 oz of that. If not, two chicken sausages (they're small). Plus a small sweet potato.
have a great day, everyone!
you guys - I decided to try some of Aldi's coffees since they get fairly decent reviews and they're cheap (like $4.99 for a 12-16 oz bag). I bought a bag of Barissimo and a bag of the German-roasted coffee (do they roast coffee differently in Germany?). Tried the German one this morning. This isn't your $15 a pound fancy-schmancy coffee, but compared to other grocery store brands, I thought it was pretty good. Plus big bonus - REALLY low acid! No stomach reactions at all! So if your stomach is sensitive to acid, you might want to try this one...
My gastro told me that some of his patients use cleaned and powderized egg shells ha they mix with coffee grounds to reduce the acid in final brewed coffee. I learned that cold brewed coffee has much less acid, and when i make it or buy, dd some calcium carbonate to the coffee. I make the cold brew really strong (concentrated) and add a 1/2 tsp of powdered calcium carbonate to a big 32 oz bottle of coffee and shake it. Leave it and the calcium settles at the bottom of the bottle and it is even less acidic than cold brewed. I use 6 oz of the coffee with 10 oz of ho****er.

I hate the acid and I buy cold-brewed coffee for that very reason. And then I heat it up lol !
