Good Morning (I guess it's technically afternoon!)
Last day of the work for me! An afternoon shift + call, but then 3 glorious days off! I cannot wait. I saw my chrio today - and I mentioned my nonstop bilateral hip pain.. she did some feeling around & determined it's my IT band giving me trouble.. so some bio freeze and ultrasound therapy done today and it's the first time in over 7 weeks my pain isn't 5/10. Woohoo!
QOTD; that damn elf on the shelf. I'm sorry friends with kids - I don't care what your 'elf' has gotten up to over night. You're wrecking my Instagram feed. Otherwise I love Christmas time (snow included)

Learning my new normal, one day at a time.

In my country, Hungary, " Szaloncukor " is a tradition to hang on the tree and eat all holiday season. It comes in a fancy red and gold striped candy wrapper with white fringed paper ends so its quite pretty and decorative and my Mom insists on having it...
But it TASTES like molasses flavored sal****er taffy ... UGH . So getting it served at the end of every meal through December and then the spring ( because it spoils and no-one wants to eat it) becomes a real PITA .
I have an excuse - I'm an ex diabetic allergic to sugar though ... Thank God !
Swam with the 'Rents today not very enthusiastically for 40 minutes
B- bread and samples of lunch
ice milk sandwich
L- Beef Bourginon with gnocchi and green bean mushroom casserole . Egg nog low-fat low sugar cooked pudding for dessert .
D- TBD but definitely will include some salad and ice milk
Good morning and happy Thursday. I wanted to log on earlier, but Logan had other plans for me this morning. He's teething and it's causing stomach upset. So I've cleaned up more runny mud like poo than I care to count this morning. He also jumped up on the counter and grabbed a knife, so I got to chase him around to get that before he hurt himself. He's worn me out today. It's only 10:20 my time and I'm so ready for the day to be over. In other news, the insurance company deposited the pay off for my car in my account. I moved that money out of my checking account so fast. I didn't want the temptation there . . . and during the holidays. I need every cent to get a new car. A car in Southern California is an absolute requirement. Our mass transit system sucks and I'm not a huge fan of ubering during a pandemic.
QOTD: Ugh, such a hard question. It would probably be snow if we would get any here. I hate being cold. I think the novelty would wear off really quickly.
My plan:
B: fairlife and Costco egg bites
L: leftover chicken gyro meat
D: Tri tip (we didn't make it last night)
S: Something before parking lot spin
E: Parking lot spin (best class of the week . . . it's throwback thursday!)
Late posting again. I was up half the night with my redundant colon issues again, and then I had a couple of things this morning. Really dragging now. I need to go to the grocery store. I'm sure my mother will want me to go over to her apt again today to try to get her computer going, but I worked on it for two hours yesterday without resolving much, and I don't think I can handle being over there all afternoon again today. I think she's got some malware on there, and it's a b*tch trying to find it (and get rid of it!). Too stressful for now.
QOTD: if you mean Scrooginess related particularly to Christmas, then it's the gift giving. We're all over 50 years old except for my niece, and no one ever wants or needs anything. We're all trying to get RID of stuff. So thinking of things to get people is always an exercise in frustration. Plus I feel really awful when someone gives me some object that I have no use for and no place to even put - and they've spent good money on it. The last couple of years we've mostly just exchanged gift certificates, which are, of course, more useful - depending on where they're from- but then it seems ridiculous to just exchange one $50 (or whatever) gift certificate to place A for a $50 (or whatever) gift certificate to place B. And even more ridiculous, to exchange gift certificates for the exact same amount to the exact same place, like Amazon. So I was very relieved when my mother blurted out a month or so ago, "since we can't all get together on Christmas this year, why don't we just skip doing gifts". Wish I would have said it myself - so relieved!
TSS: 5y6m
B: coconut Greek yogurt with 1/2 diced mango, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: probably a piece of cheesecake-flavored yogurt pie with blueberry compote
AS: 1/2 C protein oatmeal topped with 1/2 C pumpkin yogurt
D: I think I'll make turkey chili (if I end up getting to the store today, that is...)
have a great rest of your day!
Hi guys!
Late to the party. Had an early appt with the ear doctor again. I def didn't like what they let me try, the behind the ear ghizmo. With sunglasses and masks it was just a hassle. So now they have me try the one inside the ear (like a contact lense)...we shall see how it goes.
On the good news front my sister who is a research nurse but sees patients 2-3 days a week got her vaccine. She is in Wales, UK. I asked her how she feels and she said OK so far. She is the first and only one I know who got the vaccine.
QOTD: I am a total Scrooge with noisy toys (when kids were little) and with presents that have a lot of pieces like legos. I can't stand them and I know I have to pick them up after everybody is done playing. Of course my family loves legos and the bigger the better, so I just go with the flow.
Accountability: HORRIBLE! Like nothing on plan and just ate whatever was in the pantry. Can't say today is gonna be better. I'm not even in a funk, just tired of being always on guard.
Happy jr Fri-yay!

Short and sweet today! Surgery on Monday!
Broths and soups for me Today and tomorrow and clear liquids Saturday and Sunday!
the swanson broths have been a lifesaver and quick when I need something. I also found a few other bone broth companies that I really like. I got ones from Lonolife and they are yummy!
I've added a few spices to some of the more plain ones and it's worked! I feel like I am going to float away I am peeing every 15 minutes!
