I am so sorry your healing is so frustrating :( I just had a call yesterday with a friend who is recovering from a tummy tuck, and she's reached that same wall. She is healing ok but just hates having to ask for help and be restricted. I remember (vaguely) how frustrating it is. It sounds like you are healing well, and I am glad you get to go to the beach over the holidays.

PS As someone who grew up in MI went to college in upstate NY - I can relate to your snow hatred! I love the mid-Atlantic though the summers are a little on the hot and humid side for me!

that's the one thing I miss about Raleigh. No snow. We'd have some winters when it really wouldn't snow at all - maybe some flurries here and there - and others when we'd maybe get one or two "storms" - meaning like an inch or less of snow. And the whole city would close down. The ice storms could be pretty wicked, though...

Good morning! Made it to Thursday. Long week for me. My husband got all the groceries on my list yesterday, so I have lots of options. Nothing makes this girl more content than a stuffed fridge. My Mom used to say she thought I must have been a starving child in a previous life because of my fridge compulsion. I got ZERO on my to do list done yesterday, but found out I'm not going to be able to have the grandgirls for our night of fun until after the 25th. Don't really care much about the actual date, just the spending time with them. So I will put that time to other use.

QOTD: As I've said, I'm pretty much the grinch about the whole thing these days. But back in the day, it was the wrapping of gifts. Time and money, ripped away in seconds. I hate wrapping. Which by the way is one of the top things on my to do list before Sunday so that I am ready for the girls on the 24th, when we get together when them. No kids on the 25th this year. It's going to be weird.

Menu:

B: hb egg, cottage cheese

L: 2.5 oz hamburger patty, 1 oz English cheddar, 1 tbsp avocado, 2-3 chicharones if there is room in there!

D: roasted spatch****ed chicken (so yum!) brussel sprout or two, bite of mashed potato, bite of corn bread

Peace Everyone!

LOL, I LOVE wrapping. At the first firm I worked for (while still in law school) we had a "Charity Week" We would pick one charity a year to support and right after thanksgiving, we would have a blow out week to maximize our fund raising. We would have events like a cookie off (you had to donate to sample the entries); hallway miniature golf; a toy drive; and the main event was a silent auction where people would donate items or services. I would donate my services to gift wrap 10 gifts. I find it therapeutic. l don't give that many gifts anymore (my brother and SIL get "activity" gifts from me . . . tickets to an event, etc.) and I miss setting up my gift wrapping supplies, turning on music that I love and wrapping.

Perfect. By then, Logan may have mellowed out and I'll actually be able to sit and wrap!

Good Morning JB and Menuers,

Well we got walloped yesterday and we got 10" of snow. Sorry JB I love it. It is beautiful to me. However I am not the one that had to shovel it and I have a remote start on the car so it did not take much to clear it off. I was just lucky I had a snow brush in the car cause I actually did have to use it.

OMG I loved everybody's family secrets yesterday. It was epic. And Jen Oh My That **** you just can't make up.

Good morning, everybody!

Marilyn and my son should be back to Chicago by lunchtime today. We managed to get the dishes done last night, finally. This isn't at all like Marilyn, but when she left there was a pile of dishes, and we let it grow for a bit. Plus my son has baking class, so that uses every pan in the house.

Yesterday, we got too it, though. I ran a load of dishes in the dishwasher and then my son washed some pots while I cooked the Hello Fresh between conference calls (I burned the rice - but gave him the fluffy stuff on the top and just ate the brown crunchy part myself.) The Hello Fresh created more dishes, but when I got home from the gym I poured a glass of wine, ran another load of dishes and started washing pots. It took nearly an hour.

Anne of Cleaves kind of had it going on. Just saying.

QOTD: Candy Canes. One of the worst candies. Just a sticky mess that eventually forms a sharp edge to cut your tongue. There's a reason that you will sometimes find them left over in the ornament boxes the next year.. Anybody ever find a peanut butter cup in there? Of course not.

Otherwise I'm pretty much all in on the holiday's. I've told you guys before that my gift wrapping skills call into question whether I even have opposable thumbs. And Elf on the Shelf isn't my generation.

Breakfast: sausage and cottage cheese

snack: protein bar

Lunch: Mahi burger

Dinner: TBD. Probably take out with son home from college (and Jen knows that means Portillo's)

Have a great day, all!
