Well I'm super late in posting today...but I made it!

JB - if you ever go back on Facebook, you could join the group "Search Squad". There are a bunch of volunteer "search angels" on there who most often search for people's birth parents or birth children (i.e, in adoption cases), but they do other kinds of searching as well. Some of those searchers are AMAZING. They may be able to figure out what happened to your great uncle. Or you may be able to piece things together if you took one of those DNA tests - provided one of his descendants (if he has any) has taken the same test...(p.s. I'm pretty good at finding people, too - if you can message or email me his name and any other info that might be helpful, I can see what I can find. I found a friend's birth mother a few years ago...it took me a few months since it was like searching for a needle in a haystack - but I did it!)

anyway, I woke up this morning in a bad place mentally - down and stressed - but I'm feeling better now. I got outside for a little while, taking a short walk with a friend of mine. It was nice to be out and to be with another person (DH works from home now, but he's always upstairs working during the work day, so I really only see him early in the morning and in the evening). My mother wants me to come over and "fix" her computer today (I have no idea what the hell she does with it - I've been over there a jillion times "fixing" various things - I think she just clicks on everything and gets all kinds of viruses and malware). But I think I'll wait until tomorrow - I don't want to do anything that's going to set me off again.

accountability was good again yesterday, but my weight is up AGAIN. Good Lord. I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm going to force myself to eat at the low end of my range today. Hopefully it's jus****er retention or a full intestine, but I'm reining it in BIG TIME just in case.. I do NOT need to be gaining weight!

QOTD: I've done genealogy off and on for a few years, and the one line that I haven't been able to trace is one of my great grandfather's. He was born in what is now Romania (was at that time a part of the Austro-Hungarian empire), but he was (mostly, anyway) ethnic German - so I suppose any immediate relatives of his who stayed behind (like...his parents, for example) were sent back to Germany during World War II, since most of the ethnic Germans who lived there were. Although I have lots of distant cousins (DNA matches) from places like Hungary, the Czech Republic, Ukraine - whom I'm sure are tied to him somehow, but I don't know anything about his family other than him and his brother. I'd love to be able to tie all this together and figure out the connections with these mystery cousins..
