Oh, there's more....after my dad's dad passed away, Pat, him mom, applied for his social security stuff ONLY TO FIND OUT HE NEVER DIVORCED THE WOMAN HE MARRIED IN ITALY DURING THE WAR....they were literally bigamists their whole marriage.

It was scandalous, it was a paperwork issue and as soon as Pat reached out to the lovely italian woman (who also had thought they divorced) it was all worked out, she just did an affidavit and cleared it up.....but for years she would tell my dad and his siblings, "you guys really are a bunch of *******s".

I come from a lot of women that can roll with the punches, that is for sure.

I have a photo of my grandpa in Italy with a wedding ring on. He married my grandma in 46'. So yeah....

it's so interesting what goes on through the generations of our families.

G'morning all!

JB, were you in my house yesterday? Because there is no other explanation how your memes can be spot on. Yesterday I ran in the morning and was feeling so proud of myself for having done the workout part, but by mid afternoon my resolve went out the window and I snacked on spicy trail mix from TJ like there is no tomorrow. Agh! I felt so sick that I skipped dinner. Still, carb-wise my numbers were through the roof.

QOTD: my grandma always wore this HUGE acquamarine ring with a whole row of diamonds around it. I kid you not, the ring is like 20 carats. The story goes that my grandpa won the ring from Farouk, king of Egypt. At the time my grandpa, an engineer, was working all over Africa. Being a European he always hobnobbed with the high society and somehow got into some card game circle. When he won for the umpteenth time Farouk took the ring off his pinky and gave it to my grandpa. I, personally, never believed the story but the ring is so big and gaudy that could be true.

My meals yesterday:

  • B: protein coffee
  • L: ground Turkey & broccoli coleslaw
  • S: spicy trail mix - lots of it
  • S2: pear and cheese to counteract trail mix
  • D: skipped
  • E: 4.5 miles jog

Happy hump day!

Does someone else in the family have the ring now?

My grandma left it to my mom, but my mom didn't want it so gave it to my uncle, her brother. It's now with them sitting in my aunt's jewelry box or safe. Nobody but my grandma could wear that ring.

That is definitely a story that you need to hire a detective to solve. ...and make a podcast about... ;)

That is the kind of story I would tell, and whether it's true or not would be totally beside the point.

Happy Wednesday. So the car saga is over. They got back to me and will give me a whopping $210 for the $1,200 I spent for front and rear brakes 3 weeks before the accident. Brakes that were used probably 5 times total. Doesn't say much for my negotiating skills as a lawyer, but I was just tired of dealing with it. Give me my money so I can go buy a car and get on with my life. Food yesterday was basically non-existent. My puppy was an asshole and i literally couldn't eat a thing without him jumping and begging. I made lox eggs and onions for dinner, and even gave him some of the salmon. My dinner ended up in the trash. Today I'm going to try and make it through work, then run up to walgreens. I had a photo book of puppy pictures made for my brother and SIL and need to pick it up. I'm trying not to go out at all. Our hospitals are at capacity and Covid numbers are out of control. I feel ok at spin since it's outside and masked, but inside locations are starting to freak me out.

QOTD: Not a single one

My plan:

B: Fairlife latte (maybe x2)

L: Roast beef and cheese roll ups

D: tri tip on caesar salad

S: maybe a pear before parking lot spin

E: parking lot spin
