What's on your Wednesday Menu?
Morning! I can't believe it's only Wednesday. It feels like it's been 3 weeks all wrapped up into one. For no real reason other than I'm ready for Christmas break and I'm so sick of being on crutches and not being able to do the holiday things I normally do (I will live, and should suck it up).
I can't believe your boss allowed the maskless woman! I was really happy because our governor mandated that state employees wear a mask anytime they were in a space without a solid closed door. Previous, the state said if you were in a cubicle and 6' from someone you could take it off. My group that needs to be on campus has taken over all the offices and conference rooms and they all stay behind a closed door. But, we have a new group moving into the space early next year and now they'll have to mask in their cubicle farm too.
QOTD: My family is supremely boring I think. I also know very little about certain portions of it. There are questions I wish I had asked of people who have passed through. My grandmother lost her twin sister when she was 8 years old and I have no idea how/why. Oh, and my uncle cut off two of his fingers with a butcher knife! I should ask him more about that.
My Food:
- Coffee w/ Cream x3
- Eggs, Bacon, Sweet Potatoes, Sour Cream
- Chili, gonna put that in the crockpot in the next little bit

Yesterday was a rough day. I'm not really sure what happened. I started my day the regular way - wake up, weigh in, yoga, breakfast, work. Slow start at work (as usual with this dr) .. midway through setting up the first case I got some intense nausea.. thought nothing of it as since surgery I have nausea at least once a day - time, gravol (nausea med)or puking are the only things that relieve it.. I thought I'd be okay except then I broke out in a cold sweat (like right through my shirt).. little to say I went home and took some gravol and proceeded to sleep the entire day. My eating/hydration were crap as a result.
hoping for a better day today.

Sorry to hear about the nausea. Did you have higher than usual sugar or carbs an hour or 2 before it happened? The nausea and cold sweats are common with Reactive Hypoglycemia (RH), which is very common with us, post-op.

Nope - I had my usual breakfast. I checked my blood sugar as well.. I am t2 diabetic.. but I've been off all meds since surgery & my sugar was 5.7 (mmol/L) which is within the normal range.. I did make note of it along with my food journal incase it happens again I can hopefully pin point a reason!
Not sure what happened.. but today was a way better day that's for sure!

Maskless woman = dumb MFer. Not feeling benevolent this morning.
So I am officially in Hudson, Florida! West Coast just north of Tampa. I lived out of a suitcase for about 6-7 weeks between everything being packed in NY, couch surfing and travel, and stuff not being unpacked in FL. My waistline has suffered not having regular routine and kitchen.
Furniture didn't get here until a week later and I went to ER the same night. Yay me! Seems I aggravated my meniscus tears from my car accident a few years ago. I am in a brace, it is getting better. They wanted me to use crutches but honestly I never have used them and was afraid I would screw things up worse. So 2 canes it is, although it's much better and do not use them at home now.
trying to get in some Christmas spirit- So I brought in a decorative palm tree with lights from my lanai and am decorating as my tree this year.
I have been in a huge transition- so an just trying to tread water with diet and exercise. I was still exercising 3-5X a week, doing a lot of online zoom stuff with my NY gym but obviously not as intense as I was. Doing what I can as I rehab.
Food:
- protein drink
- steak, broccoli, potato
- turkey, Swiss, veg
- salad w/chicken
- S: more protein, fruit, yogurt
ex: yoga
