Morning everyone! I am back after a harrowing day of going into the office for the first time in many months. I hope I never have to do that again... I give leaving the house 0/10 stars and that feels generous. Traffic was crappy, the tech I was there to use didn't work, and the person in the cubicle next to me was maskless, and spent the day on the phone talking about how she was exposed to someone who she spent time with at a party. Plus the big boss was there and he came over and excitedly told me about plans to bring us back full time, soon. UGH.

QOTD: Do you have any old family mysteries you'd like to answer? The big family mystery we have is what happened to my grandfather's younger brother. He was a cool kid in Brooklyn in the 1930s, and the story I was told was that he got himself in some trouble after hanging with a bad crew. He disappeared when he was in his 20s and no one knows what happened to him. I'm super curious about what he was actually into, and would love to find out what happened to him... then start my own mystery podcast to reveal the story, lol.

Yesterday's meal plan was just weird. I ended up under 750 calories and I was pretty much exactly on plan with macros but I did it by not eating all day, and just eating snacks when I came home, instead of a real dinner. I seriously have no idea how I came out with the right macros because it was not a model day of eating.

OMG JB why the hell didn't the big boss tell that asshole to go home? At my company if someone was caught bragging about being exposed to someone they would be fired on the spot and people have been. I pray you don't sick due that ignorant, piece of crap. It is because of people like them that this virus will continue to get worse even with approved vaccinations.

Sorry you had to deal with that hugs.

Thanks, I was masked and wore a face shield all day, as well as doused myself in sanitizer all day, so I feel confident that I will be okay. But yeah--she's an idiot and frankly, I was not shocked to hear that she went to an indoor party.

JB, I am sorry about that day...what an awful situation you had to deal with. Hopefully there will be some way you don't have to go back in again. I keep hearing about the big east coast snowstorm, are you ready?

QOTD - it's not a family mystery but the biggest one of the day is HOW IS THIS ONLY WEDNESDAY!!

to seriously answer the Q, I just found out that I have a new half sister! I saw the alert online and figured it was someone from when my dad was single and in the Army so probably quite a bit younger than me or even younger than my brother (who is 10 years younger than me). Well, she is younger -- 3 months younger!! How does that happen??! So that has been interesting. My dad and her mom have both passed; it doesn't seem like my dad knew anything about it and her mom never gave his name/told anyone anything so the mystery will never be solved but she seems nice and we've had a few conversations in the few weeks since this came about.

I was supposed to go and hang out at my sister's (not the new one) this afternoon, outdoors in a socially distant and cold fashion but my nephew isn't feeling great and so we canceled. He got his first covid test which was negative but my sister did some research and said that many of the other countries require two covid tests, 5 days apart, to confirm something isn't covid because the error rates are so high. I'm not super interested in getting any kind of bug and really not interested in possibly getting covid so I"m ok with cancelling...I was ready to embrace the Icelandic motto that there's no such thing as two cold there's only bad clothing choices and visit though, lol.

At one of my work Zoom's yesterday, we played a fun online game called drawasourous, it's virtual Pictionary and fun if you need a zoom idea.

I am with you on the first answer to the QOTD. And unless there is actual proof on the Second answer I would be a little hesitant. People are crazy. And I am going to adopt this motto when it comes to me running in the morning at 26° there's no such thing as two cold there's only bad clothing choices

THAT IS A WILD STORY! I can't even imagine the emotions surrounding this discovery. I hope she turns out to be a wonderful addition in your life :)

You'll have to send me more info on the zoom game. I need more staff icebreaker ideas!

that finding half-siblings thing - I'm on a couple of sites that find people's birth parents/birth children (as well as other mystery people) and that kind of thing (taking a DNA test and discovering half-siblings) happens ALL THE TIME!!! (it's also pretty common for people to discover that their father is not really their father - I think I'd much rather discover a half-sibling if given the choice!!)
