What's on your Monday Menu?
Good morning, everybody!
I'm with Christina - where did the weekend go? It seems like it was just Friday evening, and now I'm 9 minutes from first Monday conference call.
Today is my middle's last day of his first semester of college. Marilyn is headed out to pick him up. I am proud of him, he has done well through a very difficult first semester because of the COVID concerns. Based on his sister, I am sure that he will sleep for about 5 days when he gets home.
QOTD:
We didn't get any out this year. It's unfortunate, because I love receiving the cards and seeing how people are doing.
Breakfast: Egg sandwich
Snack: protein bar
Lunch: Meatloaf
Dinner: Hello Fresh
Have a great day, all!

This weekend was filled with lack of sleep, rushed food choices (mind you I still Stuck to plan), limited water.. but that's a typical call weekend! It was nice to get it out of the way and know what to plan for better success next time.
QOTD: I send out cards every year. I keep it to family and friends only. This year we sent out two cards, one as a joke to our friends, and then one that was grandma- appropriate to the family. I enjoy sending cards.. and felt this year especially people could use a little bit more joy in their lives.
I found this new yoga app (was recommended to me by a coworker..) it's called Down Dog and it's an app for yoga. So far, highly recommend. If you're a healthcare worker it's free until July 2021. I did my first yoga workout this morning with it and had a decent time. I do find I lack stamina and my muscles are so shaky in some of the poses - which is so weird for me as I was super active pre-op (like 55min HIIT classes 5 days a week + hiking, walking, exploring etc) and post op I have a really hard time with energy levels. It's getting better - so I'm trying not to push too hard.
B: protein waffles

Learning my new normal, one day at a time.
Morning! It was a nice weekend at home (again). My kids both saw their "person" for the last time this year, as we'll be hunkering down in full quarantine and then getting a covid test before Christmas so that we can relax and enjoy Christmas with our one guest, my brother. The day after Christmas we leave for the beach for a week, which we do every year. This year, we have a giant house because the plan was for much more family to join us but only my brother was able to meet the qualifications to come. I guess that's what happens when you book beach houses a year in advance.
QOTD: I haven't sent them in years, except to targeted family members with pictures of the kids. We do distribute cookies/sweets to a few families with a card. This year was the first year we got a Hanukkah basket of goodies from someone and my older daughter got to celebrate the 4th day of Hanukkah with her boyfriend last night.
My Food:
- Coffee w/ Cream x3
- Eggs, Sweet Potato, Bacon, Sour Cream
- Some kind of chicken pasta. Jon smoked chicken quarters last night and we have 2.5 left over. I'm going to pick them apart and make a pasta dish with broccoli and fettucine.

Mornin' All!
I have a Mah Jongg game this morning and need to make an Aldi's run at some point, but...that's it! I've watched all the lectures from one of my classes and am still a week behind in my other one, so I'll probably watch those today before he takes them down (it's exam week here...). I also really should do some reading before all these library books are due. And online Zumba at 5:00.
accountability has been OK the last few days but sucked yesterday. I knew yesterday was going to be tough to navigate because we picked up take out from a Chinese place and took it over to MIL's, but actually, I did fine with the Chinese food. It was when we got home that disaster struck. I ate an entire pint of Halo Top (or rather, the Aldi's equivalent). Three-hundred calories that I did NOT need. Luckily, the scale was kind this morning - but I don't want to start going down this road. I need to REALLY be careful the next few days...
QOTD: Years ago I used to send out around 50 cards, but with so many people being on Facebook now I haven't sent many at all the last 10 years or so - maybe around ten cards a year - almost all of them going to elderly relatives who aren't online (although at this point, almost all of them have died), or people with whom I always exchange Christmas cards (and will likely continue doing until one of us decides to stop (although I'll probably keep doing it for those in this category who aren't on Facebook, since I don't want to lose touch with them!!). It's really fun to get them, though.
TSS: 5y6m
B: plain Greek yogurt with cranberry/cherry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: some kind of protein shake (or Fit Frappe)
L: either a piece of yogurt pie or turkey slices with a small sweet potato
AS: pumpkin yogurt topped with 1/4 C high fiber cereal
D: if I don't have the turkey slices and sweet potato for lunch, then I'll have it for dinner. Otherwise, some microwavable meal since my freezer seems to be stuffed with them these days...
have a great day, everyone!
Good morning! We enjoyed our last day at the lake yesterday. We got 5 miles in on the bikes and that was almost literally all I did. I am sure my steps tracker is ashamed of me for yesterday's performance. Today will be banging here at work as I count down the days until my teammate comes back on Wednesday. Lot's to do already. Haircuts tonight. Our stylist comes to our home and masks up, so we feel pretty good about it. She's got lots of elderly clients, so she is very careful where she goes.
I need to organize my calendar for sure. I've got lots of work, a large craft project to finish, wrapping for the grandgirls, grocery lists to get ready for my husband to go get and stricter enforcement of quarantine starts tomorrow to give me a full 7 day window before my dad gets here. This is a real challenge for me, as I must, and I do mean for me personally it's a must, go to the military services on Friday for my dear friend that passed. It is outdoors, and limited to 10 people. But I would triple mask and wear a haz mat suit if needed to be present for this service. The family is doing only this, until April, if Covid will allow then. We'll celebrate him and his life on his birthday. Come on vaccine. Do your thing! My daughter's family is joining the stricter quarantine with us, as they will be with my Dad too. So at least I have them in my "bubble". We've moved to mandatory masks at work, and I am trying to keep everyone out of my office.
QOTD: No, no cards from us, for many years. Part of my bah humbug holiday spirit I'm afraid.
Menu: SIDE BAR!! Has anyone else tried Sonoma Creamery Bacon Cheddar Crisps? Holy lordy, these were a game changer for me! Chewy, crispy, crunchy, high protein, reasonable carbs. My tummy was so happy yesterday! https://www.amazon.com/Sonoma-Creamery-Cheese-Crisps-Cheddar /dp/B075H37SYM
B: chicken and 1/4 C cottage cheese
L: mini turkey meat loaf and veggie torte (anybody want this recipe, hit me up! It not only is yummy, it's a beautiful presentation and super easy)
D: protein noodles, 3 chicken meatballs, 1/4 C marinara, 1 tbsp parm
Peace Everyone!

Sonoma Crisps were my go to vessel for tuna pouches year 2. But I just grab the Aldi ones now just for convenience and price but those are nicer because they are like toast and you can get a bunch of tuna on them.

I don't think we have Aldi in CA.
I find those Sonoma ones at World's Market. An equivalent one is cheese whisps, that they even sell at Costco.
