Oh, I need to move somewhere I can have a favorite Persian place - that would be awesome!

It's not Persian, Sheila, but Oren's Hummus (a few locations) has amazing middle eastern! Their hummus, chicken, falafel...amazing. I have been to one in Palo Alto and another one too. Yum!
One of the best things about growing up outside of Detroit is that Michigan has the largest number of Middle Eastern people outside of the Middle East! (Ford Motor Company employed some many many years ago and they kept coming). Detroit has the BEST middle eastern food!!!
I literally googled chicken kabobs near me after reading Nikki?s post. The closest to me is about 30-45 minutes away in San Jose. Same as Oren in Palo Alto. We have a couple of middle eastern restaurants near us but nothing to write home about it. I'll just drool thinking about them.

Good morning, everybody!
I have a blue gym bag just for my lifting stuff (knee pads, wrist wraps, etc.). It's never been what you would call a nice smelling bag. But usually, it just sits in my garage, or in my car, so its not really a big deal.
Last month, I put it in my suitcase and brought it to Florida because I needed it down there. Which was fine until Hurricane Eta hit. I got caught in a downpour heading from the gym to my car and got drenched from head to toe. As did the blue gym bag.
At this point, the gym bag went from merely smelling bad to smelling otherworldly. Marilyn and my son got in the car, while it was in the trunk and had to pull over and search the car for a dead animal. They found the bag, drove back home, put it in the garage and drove with the windows open. Afterwards, I was forbidden from storing the bag in the car, or having it in the car while she was in it.
Well, as we got towards the end of the trip, I knew that I would need to do something before I packed the gym bag. So, the Saturday night before we left, I put everything that wasn't paper into the wash. Bag, wraps, pads, gloves, etc. It actually worked pretty good. One wouldn't snuggle with it but it wouldn't cause a security issue either.
The next morning, I got up to lift before we headed home. Knowing that using the bag would start the cycle over again, I left everything at home and just headed to the gym in my clothes.
In a fit of inspiration, I did this workout called DT (5 rounds: 12 deadlifts 155 pounds, 9 Hang cleans 155 pounds, 6 push jerks 155 pounds). Although it took awhile, I was able to complete it for the first time and was super excited. Except my hands.
With no gloves or tape, the knurling on the bars ripped up my thumbs. So I sit here, with bloody, oozing, crusted thumbs, pecking away at the keyboard using one finger from each hand. But I was able to get the blue bag onto the plane without being detained by the TSA.
QOTD: I am more excited for self-driving because they seem more realistic. If we actually could have flying cars like the Jetsons, that would be so cool.
Picture is Star Wars squish mallows.
Breakfast: Protein bar
Lunch: Chili
Snack: nuts
Dinner: Pate and cheeses
Have a great day, all!
