Happy FriYAAAAY!

Not sure what I am excited about...I have a TON of work to do this weekend. It's feast or famine with us--I had been bored at work for awhile but now now there aren't enough hours in the day! Plus I have to go in for two days next week. I am really not looking forward to adding a commute back into these long hours, but there are just a few things that can't be done from home, so it's time to get it done. I am hoping to get ahead of what I can this weekend so that my time in the office is as quick and efficient as possible.

No fun photos today!

QOTD: Which technology are you most excited for--flying cars or self-driving cars? I will be the very first person in line for a self-driving car. Take my money please! Especially after having this glorious year without my commute, I want those hours back, so even if I am just being chauffeured, it's still gotta be better than the stress of driving through Boston traffic.

My accountability was okay yesterday until an hour before bed when I decided I wanted have a glass of wine. Fun fact--if you are only allowed 800 calories a day, max, there is no wiggle room for a glass of wine, unless you skip a meal (which I didn't). I ended the day at 976 calories, blergh.

I agree - Friday's aren't the same when you know you're gonna be busy all weekend. I'm on call this weekend (10pm tonight till 7am Monday) .. Meaning I can be called into work for a case at any time and can expect to work for any length of time between these hours.. let's hope for an uneventful weekend! My goal is to prep some of my favs (turkey roll ups etc) so I can grab and go when I'm called, no matter what time of day so I have an easy meal option.. we shall see how this goes!

QOTD: I think flying cars. To be flying cars means faster cars? And if I can see my fam jam that much faster with the distance between us, that would make me a happy lady!

B: TBD.. I'm still thinking about it.

Good morning all!

Looks to be a LLLLOOOOOOOOOOONG day today. So much to do!

Something is definitely up with my neck now too. My hands are going numb at night and hurting badly. It's mostly on the left side but my right arm can really get to hurting. I need a new pillow :o(

Plans for the day is to make the cake and frosting...clean some. My mom and me talked it over last night. Turns out she offered the house as a place for the party. She just forgot to tell me. This pain has really made me grumpy and salty as heck. Not feeling good day in and day out is just exhausting. I am worried the cake will look bad but we'll see. I am a perfectionist to a fault.

Found out one of my favorite bands has a new album coming out in February...so excited! I'm going to listen to Taylor Swift's new album today. I liked folklore so we'll see if this one is good too.

my photos are some photoshopped things I did five years ago...a pic of earrings I sold earlier this week...and my bed head. Maybe I'm born with it or maybe it's laziness. Hahaha

qotd: self driving. I hate driving.

b: oatmeal, PB2 and coffee

l: making instant-pot stew today

d: probably stew again

s: popcorn, coffee and ???

As someone who deals with a chronic pain, I can understand how it is first thing am. I often have to take my meds, then wait 30 min to an hour, then I can start moving. I take a small dose of pain pill at night together with some herbal stuff for pain and to let me sleep better. What can you take for pain? I hate the idea oof pain meds, but they help me have semi-normal life.

As for pillows, we both have 3-4 pillows each on the bed with us to help us sleep. I have days that I wake up with a numb arm, and I know it is due to my position in the bed. I often wake up in the same position I went to sleep in. That's why my cat likes sleeping on me. I don't move, unless I wake up, move, position myself and the cat properly, then I can go back to sleep.

Best for me pillow for my head is a My Pillow brand king size, regular. Keith is 6 ft tall so he got the firm My Pillow king size and he likes it a lot. they are rather expensive, but they have a good return policy so maybe you can try? We have the pillows for a few years now, and since we got them, we no longer buying others to try. We don't need to. I run the pillows in the dry on steam sanitize cycle, but before I got this dryer, I just spray the pillow surfaces with water and run the drying on highest temp for 30 min. It refreshes them without chemicals and "puffs them up". I wash them every 3-6 months. Depends how hot it gets/I get at night. We use pillow protectors on them. BTW: I have a queen size regular pillow but I don't like it as much as my king size.

I never KNEW I had any pain WHATSOEVER while I was drinking ( because I was medicating it obviously ) .

Since stopping ... I have shin splints ( a kind of nagging but Persistent pain in my left leg which was broken as a child and pulled very severely recently as well ) ... and some kind of lumbar lower back pain I occasionally feel in twinges ..even just walking.( I had an old ice hockey overuse injury there ..very severe but very long ago )

Also my neck and shoulders which I'm always trying to relax and straighten further hurt when I try to manipulate them.

I recently tried that arthritis relief natural combination again- devils claw extract and boswelliana which I neglected because I was convinced its working was a placebo effect possibly.

Now im thinking .. if it IS a placebo effect - even better ... because I'm not taking poisons or NSAIDS that can hurt my RNY and I'm pain free . Whats not to love ?

I also drink a huge amount of ginger tea which is another arthritis pain reliever ... just because I love ginger .

And I eat vitamin C chewies like they were candy ...the bottle literally lives next to me while I watch TV .

Vitamin C relieves inflammation and seems to really reduce wrinkles and possible bleeding gum/tooth issues among other things .

My folks have ALL their teeth despite having been deprived of milk in their formative years through and after WW2 at 86 and 88 ... so I think vitamins ( which they've taken every day for fifty something years ) REALLY help .

They also swim ( fast !) for an hour or so every two days and have no aches or pains whatsoever .

I would KILL for a flying car lol!

But I DID have a " self driving " car for about a dozen years thanks to my business partner and it was a HUGE luxury I REALLY miss...

Last nite midnite snack- homemade oatmeal raisin Kodiak flour enhanced low sugar cookies and several ice milk sandwiches watching TV

B- so far coffee ( Starbux ) and ff milk , 75% FF cheddar cheese slices

L/D ( celebratory family birthday/Hannukah /Christmas dinner ) - Tom Ka coconut Vegetarian soup w mushrooms, green onion snipped green ends , frozen peas , lite coconut milk to enhance ff milk n butter buds n coconut extract ff substitute ,

FF Thai green curry lemongrass marinated large grilled prawns w water chestnuts, baby corn, sugar snap peas , fresh basil

Jasmine rice,

Low-fat Thai red curry chicken breast w wild and cultivated mushrooms, fresh carrots, fresh broccoli and bamboo shoots .

Fat free lemon ricotta/cottage cheese cheesecake w ( low sugar ) cherry/fresh strawberry /fresh blueberry topping n FF whipped cream

Getting Florida apartment ready 2 leave and draining NY pipes remotely so they don't freeze ... what fun!( NOT )

I think I'll drive if possible 2 days from now avoiding the Christmas/New Years traffic.

My bandleader tells m we're booked like a DOUBLE date on New Years and just about every nite till then so I guess I'll b performing and then returning to my solely wood-stove heated home brrrr .

But I'm getting paid for performing , selling the Christmas kittens ( OMG they're So Cute ... and already potty trained and following people around and eating canned food) ... so its all good

Since you are tryin to get your body n a better shape, ty Corydalis. Available on amazon, is a Chinese herb that is a very powerful pin relief herb, that can be also sedating. I often take one before bed (together with my magnesium) and as long as I have at least 6 hours I can sleep (it works too well for my sleep) I take it before bed.

Good morning all and happy Friday!! Very quick post as I am running behind yet again! No real plans for this weekend aside from Sunday I found out I will be dog sitting for my brother and his girlfriend. They have the sweetest dog! She will be coming to my place, but my older cat does not like her. Not too sure what the kitten will think as they have never met. Should be interesting! Lol

Accountability was excellent yesterday! I ended the day at exactly 800 calories and that hardly ever happens! I am also down another pound and a few ounces. 8 more pounds to go to reach goal! Never dreamed I would ever get this close! Hopefully I make it and can keep losing a bit more for some wiggle room! I am so ready to be in maintenance!!!

QOTD: self driving cars for sure!!! I hate driving! I also have a driving phobia when I have to drive to new places I'm not familiar with. My anxiety goes through the roof! My vision is also not good at night. Ever since I was diagnosed with MS back in 2012 and completely lost my vision in one eye, it has never been the same and I try to avoid driving at all costs at night because I just can't see.

B: coffee w/Splenda & sf creamer x 2

B2: protein shake

L: 2 oz low sodium turkey breast & a laughing cow cheese wedge

D: 4 oz baked salmon & broccoli

S: L&F Greek yogurt & an apple
