What's on your Thursday Menu?
Good Morning JB and Menuers,
I am so glad I do not have to Zoom to work. I don't know how I would handle it. I do have a family zoom this Sunday with the hopes of seeing all the kids and cousins around the US. We usually get together for a family bowling party and it is so nice to see the kids. Everyone brings a snack and we bowl three rounds and sing Christmas Carols. We been doing this for years. So a zoom family Christmas should be nice because will get to see all the out of towners as well. Hopefully they want to see us as much as we want to se them so there will be many participants
Interesting outlook from your Nut Julia. I always think I am doing right but then the scale says otherwise. Next time I see the Surgeon I am going to ask to see her nut since I no longer see the nut at the old bariatric center. The Nut at the old center is a bit over weight so I found it hard to listen to her. Plus she never exercises. It was do as I say not as I do kind of situation.

My work is very meetings based, and I would rather be in zooms for 24 hours a day than ever sit in a small meeting/conference room with humans again, so I am good!
G'morning all!
So much excitement today (insert sarcasm)! I'm going to check out a couple of hearing aids today. If you recall, last month I was told that my hearing for the super high sounds is not good. To which I said so what? But the more I read about it the more I realize I better take care of it. They have those in the ear ones that are almost invisible and have blue tooth, so I can use it as an AirPod with my phone. We shall see.
QOTD: you mean money left over after paying for college tuitions? Lots of clothes for going nowhere! For practical purchases I love my Garmin watch that I purchased kicking and screaming, because I thought I was OK with my cheapo tracking watch, but once I had it for a week I changed my mind and love it.
My meals yesterday:
- B: coffee + scrambled eggs
- L: Costco turkey meatballs + hb egg
- S: TJ toffee chip (face palm)
- D: shrimp stir fry
- E: 30 minutes cardio + 50 minutes strength training
Happy jr Fri-yay!

Sheila,
My daughter and I have very high pitched, squeaky voices. My youngest granddaughter was identified as hearing impaired in the high pitch range last year. No change this year, so they consider it a birth defect, and not a progressive loss issue. Which was the best news in the situation. So she can't hear like high bird tweets and certain aspects of letters. But -- the reason for telling you this is, My son in law says it's not a birth defect, but an evolutionary modification she developed because of our high pitched, squeaky voices! LOL.
That is too funny! Love his humor!
I was told that with time I might start not to hear certain letters, and not understand the words. I might have thought because English is not my first language I might have not understood a certain word but the tech told me it will happen more often if I don't take care of it. Not to toot my own horn, but I speak 4 languages and can't afford to lose words here and there. Hence the decision to get the hearing aid...what's next? AARP?

Yeah. AARP. Those rotten B**&&^^%%!!
The reverse is true for her. Not hearing while learning language can cause her to lose sounds and enunciation. Man, I wish I could speak languages! Italian and Spanish at the top of my list. But I don't seem to have that switch in my head. I was thinking of trying Babbel...

I'm having a lot of fun with DuoLingo to learn Spani****'s a good program. I have been doing it for 7ish months every day. I can definitely read better than I can speak or understand spoken language, but I feel pretty confident. And prior to that I knew a sum total of about 5 words--I was definitely brand new to it!
Yes, I can totally understand that. It almost becomes like a speech impediment.
Julia is using a program to learn Spanish. For me the best thing was full immersion, one year in Madrid did it for me. But if you don't use it you lose it, that's the problem.
