What's on your Thursday Menu?
Who buys clothes in a pandemic?
Me, I'm an optimist! At least that's what I tell myself to justify all the buying and going nowhere.

Happy Friday-Eve! Thank you for all the birthday wishes for Em, she appreciated them. JB- Kudos to you for jumping in and partnering with your NUT, I think it's awesome.
Accountability: I had too many extra snacks since I was up late (out socially distance talking with some of the moms that brought their girls by for the parade) and then it took a bit to unwind when the evening was over.
QOTD: I'll go with Em's car. The smile it brought her was priceless.

Good morning! JB, your goals are pretty much in line with my self made ones. I realized my Dr. doesn't have a NUT on staff. May need to look into getting one in the future. I swear I have questions everyday! Anyway, I'm a bit taller than you, and still early in the process, but it is really reassuring to see that I'm sort of getting this right in developing long term habits. One thing is I still don't eat fruit. My doctor is not a fan. But I've been craving a little apple and peanut butter. I'm always scared to add back a new food. I worry it will open the flood gates and I'll end up neck deep in a bag of Doritos. We had chinese take out last night for the first time in over 16 months. I had a bit of everything, loved it and didn't over do it by too much. (Just had to go back for one more sweet and sour shrimp piece. Had to.)
QOTD: No question, the RV. We are enjoying the heck out of it. At the end of this current little lake side trip we are on, we will have used it 39 nights this year. We are determined to use it as much as possible for local outings until we can take it and hit the road for several weeks at a time starting in 2022. Which hopefully will be here in a hot minute and not bring any Covid restrictions with it!
Menu:
B: one slice bacon, 1 deli turkey slice, 1 provolone slice as a roll up. Must eat today. MUST.
L: beef taco. Probably will eat half the shell. 1/4 C restaurant (meaning tons of lard) refried beans
D: El Pollo Loco chicken and side salad. Grandkids are coming for a bike ride at the campground. I'll still be at work, but I'm bringing dinner home with me.
Exercise. Again, not gonna lie. Probably none. I'm in early at work to complete an unexpected contract bid, and my team mate is on vacation til next Wednesday. So I will be chained to this desk all day.
Peace Everyone!

I didn't have any carbs from fruit, (most) veggies, or bread based products for over 2 years post op. My carbs were all from dairy and protein shakes. I was 2 years post op and maintaining well below goal weight when I started experimenting, and trying to eat more like a 'normie'. Problem is that wanting to eat normally again, coinciding with no more malnutrition, & normal hunger coming back, was a recipe for weight gain. I didn't think it would ever happen to me, but here we are...
A good reminder. I haven't eaten any fruit, hardly any starchy veggies (a bite here or there) no pasta, rice, etc since August 2019. Maybe "normie" is not for me either! I am really feeling hunger this week, and struggling to feed that with only high quality protein. Let me stay focused on that! Thank you.
Mornin' All!
I'm not sure if I could manage on 800 kcal/day. Yikes! Although I'm quite a bit taller than you, so that probably makes a big difference. Although I did it for several months during my weight loss phase, so...I obviously CAN do it. I sure wish I still had the same resolve I had that first year post-op!! Even keeping it down to 1500-ish is a struggle these days...
I have a lot of crap I have to do for one of my organizations by the end of the week. It's stressing me out even THINKING about it. Plus I have the lecture for one of my classes today (the one where he only keeps it up for six hours, and then you're SOL...), and try to get caught up with lectures for my other class, since I'm about a week behind. And watch a movie for my film discussion group that meets tomorrow. Plus go out for another bike ride sometime today, since it'll be 50 degrees again, and will turn much colder starting tomorrow. I guess I'd better get in the shower and get cracking!!
QOTD: definitely my bike. It's changed my life. It's an older, used Trek that I bought on Craigslist back in May, and it made me re-discover after many years how much I love biking. Plus it's gotten me back into the daily exercise habit. I don't bike much anymore now that it's turned colder, but I still exercise almost every day - Zumba, kickboxing, strength-training, etc.
TSS: 5y6m
B: plain Greek yogurt with cranberry/cherry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake of some sort (last night I was thinking about trying to make my eggnog protein shake into ice cream - so I may try that today....)
L: 1/2 C cottage cheese and 1/2 a protein pumpkin muffin
AS: Greek yogurt with raspberries
D: 2 oz turkey slices, small salad with light dressing, small sweet potato
have a great day, everyone!!
