G'morning all!

Haha! That sloth has been talking to me forever, but he suggests to eat cookies because he knows I hate Mac and cheese. I have learned that exercise needs to be considered a chore, you have to do it whether you like it or not. I will never be one of those people who look forward to working out but I love the afterwards, when I'm done and I feel satisfied that I did my job.

QOTD: plenty of those friends. Period of time when you could hang out but then life interferes and you get busy with work, school, kids, etc. But the sign of a real friend is that you can pick it up any time and there is no resentment.

My meals yesterday:

  • B: protein coffee
  • L: 2 hb eggs + Costco chicken skewer
  • S: L&F pumpkin pie yogurt
  • D: taco Tuesday, no shells
  • E: 4.5 miles jog

Happy hump day!

I didn't know it was possible to be formerly overweight and "hate" Mac & Cheese! I love the good stuff from restaurants, but damn if I wouldn't eat a box (or 2) of the $1 stuff made with powdered cheese right now!

Girl, you must have been busy that day when we had the discussion about mac & cheese and Kelly putting ketchup on it. I can't stand that stuff, especially the boxed ones. I admit DD made a very scrumptious (read:tons of real cheese and butter) one for thanksgiving and it wasn't bad. But on a normal basis I wouldn't touch that thing with a 10 foot pole.

I will eat a few bites of traditional southern Mac and cheese but the blue box - yucko...and don't get me started on the weird velveta version. Noodles with butter and fresh grated cheese - yum!!!

Julia, your memes are on point! Always!

Good morning (it's still morning, right?!). I got up at 6:45 and did a zoom workout with my trainer from 7-7:40 and then since I was already dressed and sweaty, did another 25 minutes on my Sweat app. Then showered and started my day with a ton of energy. Although I am dragging in the morning, I forget how much better it is to start my day with energy AND, most importantly, with no excuse about being tired or working too late to avoid evening exercise. I think I am going to commit to doing this 4x a week. My trainer just does a class on zoom for friends, and it's $5 a class.

QOTD: I am so fortunate, I have collected some of the best people in my life over the years! I am usually pretty good at staying in touch and I have to say, the pandemic has somehow made it easier. I think because life has become so strange and I am not traveling or going out anywhere, so I find myself doing more texts and zooms with friends. It's funny because I always start the conversation with "well nothing new here" but we can still while away hours and hours talking. Kris doesn't know this, but I see myself living in a commune with a group of amazing women when I am old and ancient LOL.

Next week marks my 6th or 7th surgiversary. I should know this but I can't quite remember! I have some regain to tackle. 'Nuff said.

B: Iced coffee with half and half, leftover poke bowl from yesterday

L: Z'atar spiced chicken thigh with homemade hummus and taztiki and half a pita bread

D: Leftover vegetarian panang curry. The curry is a small can of paste mixed into coconut milk. I used an asian vegetable medley and added water chestnuts and baked hard tofu. Kris keeps talking about doing more vegetarian meals - I think he watched a Tom Brady special on ESPN or something!

E: Done! An hour in the bag.

Have a wonderful day, everyone!

That curry sounds good!!! And good on you guys for more vegetarian meals! My hubs has been open to it too, after he watched the Game Changers. Not every meal, but he's tried (and really liked) some of the stuff that I make and it's been nice not eating alone!

Let it begin with me.

So far, he likes Beyond Burgers (with cheese and mayo and ketchup lol), firm tofu and veggies in curry, gardein fish filets, and Trader Joe's high protein veggie burgers. I haven't branched out into serving him tempeh or lentils yet, but those are next! Turkish lentil soup is my FAVORITE, they eat it for breakfast there and it's so warm and lemony! I have to find a menu.

we love Beyond Burgers!

I've made that soup - and I had a lot of it when i was in Turkey. It's called mercimek there, so try googling it using that name and see what you come up with...
