Happy Hump Day, Gang! It was nice to see so many old and new posters here yesterday :)

That sloth has been whispering in my ear for a few days now :/ I had been so compliant and had small pouch days for a few glorious weeks... but after I had all those BLTs (bites, licks and tastes) of the gingerbread & frosting on Sunday, I think it reactivated my sugar and carb cravings. I have been feeling super head-hungry and unsatisfied for the last few days and I've had a hard time sticking to my menu. Plus I have taken a break from exercise while my joints heal, so it's just been a mess for a few days. I need to get my act together.

But... I have a virtual check in with the nutritionist today at lunch time! I feel pretty confident that I know the right things to do, but I think that when I have regular check ins with the surgical team it keeps me motivated! I'll share if she has any great words of wisdom :)

QOTD: Do you have a friend who you don't talk to often, who you still consider a very close friend? I was texting with a friend last night who used to be my very best friend for about 10 years in my 20s. We never had a falling out or anything, we just sort of grew apart... I still love her and think of her as one of my closest friends even though we can go a year without talking. Texting last night--it was like no time had passed! I hope that when the pandemic ends we can get together more often :)

Good Morning!

half way through the week! Whoop whoop!
QOTD: I have many friends that I don?t talk to on the regular - since college my bestie and I have lived so far apart.. I got married, and then divorced, she had a set of twins.. we both work in the same field and know that life is busy.. but when we do talk it?s exactly as you said - like no time has passed. I love her dearly and I also hope that we can catch up face to face soon. The last time I saw her was in 2018 when we spent a glorious 5 days in Vegas and the Grand Canyon.

Oh how I miss travel!

hi all- really not much to report here, trying to work on the GA house and there are some rooms that are a disaster area. my sweet DH rearranged all the cabinets in the kitchen and now I have no idea where anything is. I have to ask him lol. Last night I didn't leave and go to the gym even though I had planned it- so will do that today. Part of 2 work projects end today so I'm looking forward to spending quality time on other important things.

QOTD: Yes I think so. there are a couple friends like no time has passed sine you have spoken.

Food plan: more of focusing on not overfilling the pouch. I did have a large tuna salad last night with dried edamame and that caused excess gas which made me not sleep as well and also paranoid to clear the room with the fumes.

b: protein waffle

coffee with premier

b2: probably the rest of b or an iced coffee

l: turkey and veggies

d: probably either turkey dog or more turkey

s: yogurt or 35 cal bread with pb fit

excess gas This is daily for me. I just thought it was part of WLS? Can this be minimalized?

I only have it when I really restrict to low-carb/high protein foods. Now that I'm 4 years out I eat a pretty varied diet and don't have issues with gas/bloating anymore. I'm still "low carb" but not "keto" low, for sure. Maybe 100g/day.

it depends on foods. I.e. - she had edamame - soy beans - they are very poorly digestible so it would cause gas.

Beans of any type, high fiber veggies, almost any type of of sugar alcohols, etc etc. Identify what food is causing the excessive gas.

Good morning! I can easily get attracted by the carb monsters too. It is a good thing there wasn't much to do damage with in the house for my quarantine time. Which is over thank goodness!! I need to take a long outdoor walk today!

QOTD: I see my best friend from growing up a couple of times a year at most even though she lives within 15 miles. I still consider her a close friend and at minimum we keep track of each other via FB in between.

TSS: 4 years, 8 months

B: Coffee!!! Eggs and cottage cheese

L: Deli turkey and laughing cow cheese

D: Not sure - maybe something at an outside restaurant since we can go out again

S: blueberry cheesecake yogurt pie and/or nut thins with cottage cheese and/or SF brownie
