Mornin' All!

I have to take my mom to something in one of the ex-burbs sometime today, and I have my two classes. I'll also do one of the Zoom-delivered exercise classes that my gym is offering - maybe the cardio one at 5:00. I really need to take the bull by the horns and get back to strictly following my program. My weight is still up. I didn't do great yesterday, but it was an improvement over the last couple of days. But still - weight is up. I need to REALLY real this back in or I'm going to be sorry...

QOTD: it's probably a good idea since some people will love being able to see first-run movies right away again, and it might help keep the theaters afloat. And I may watch a couple since my sister gave me an AMC gift card last Christmas that I've yet to use. But ordinarily, I wait until new movies come to our second-run theater (a month or two after they've been released) since it's only $3 to see them there. In the rare event when a friend wants me to go to a movie with them, we usually go on Tuesdays (when most of the theaters around here were only charging $5) or early in the day when we can get the senior specials (also $5). I admit - I'm a tightwad...

AMC will allow you to rent out a theater for up to 20 people for $99. Maybe you could use your gift card towards bringing just your family so that you know it is safe!

Good morning from a warm and windy San Diego. We are having a hell of a Santa Ana and the wind is wicked. Super dangerous fire time right now. Late in our season for it. I'm praying to get through this wind storm with no new fires. Slight bummer that we cannot have the campfire going at our lake spot, but worth missing out on it to reduce risk. Already 72 outside. Last Friday when I left my campsite at 5 am it was 30. So a huge difference and my sinuses are not loving it. Today is work, work, work. No time for a bike ride and I'll probably turn into a slug when I get back to the RV. Not gonna lie. Don't see an ounce of exercise in my future today.

QOTD: I'm torn. I love going to the movies. The hubs does not. I've been saying for a few years now that when I retire, on his golf day, I'm going to the theater and watch a movie. This new development messes with my plans. I'm hopeful that the theaters will be able to survive and come back. That said, in the interim, yes, I'll happily pay to watch from home where I can stop the show for the inevitable potty break. I will get to see more of the shows in real time and may even achieve my dream of watching all of the Oscar nominated shows prior to awards season.

Menu:

B: 1 slice bacon, small deli turkey, provolone roll up

L: 3 oz ground beef patty with 1 oz english cheddar and caramelized onions

D: We had a propane issue last night, so we got take out Mexican. (my stomach did not approve and I was in bed by 7:45) so tonight, it's back to Huli-huli chicken and cauliflower "fried" rice.

Peace Everyone!

My retirement plan before WLS was to lay on the couch, eat potato chips, drink beer, and watch soap operas. Needless to say that plan has been changed. I now look forward to more exercise.

LOL. Man I wanted to be snacking on Sunday. Head hunger type snacking. I was missing the joy of just eating a bag of Doritos and reading a good book in the sunshine. But, you are right, I loved getting the miles in on my bike. More of that ahead.

Good Morning JB and Menuers,

OK I got one day under my belt only 4 more before the weekend. Last evening was crappy after the Steelers lost to Washington and broke there undefeated season. I knew it would happen at some point,11 and 1 is great but it is kinda a punch in the gut when things were going so good. OK I'm over it can we get some Hockey being played so I have something to be excited about?

I did some meal prep last night I made stuffed zucchini and turkey meatballs. I had turkey I wanted to get made into something because it was in the fridge for almost a week. I'll save the meatballs for late in the week. I plan to eat those with some Lentil pasta as a treat but the zucchini will be dinner tonight.

QOTD: I think it is great you can see new movies on TV. However for me it will always be that the good ones are on streaming services I do not own.

Accountability: I had some almonds, apples, and a protein pack of peanut butter cups The brand name is ONE I did not need.

TSS: 2 years 11 Months and 27 day 131.8 (Lowest 129.4)

MS: Premier Apple cinnamon oat Protein shake and berries

L: BBQ Chicken Casserole and snack select

D: Turkey stuffed zucchini with sauce and cheese.

Exercise: 3 mile run (done)

Water and vitamins: On track. I take a Bariatric Advantage Ultra multi w/iron I use bariatric advantage Calcium chews and my blood work has been great. My B12 has been High so I cut my sublingual to every 3rd or 4th day. And I have now added 500mg of Magnesium

Everybody have a Great Day.

Brightest Blessing

G'morning all!

Today I gotta take my car in for some sort of recall with the battery. It's not the battery per se but the software that regulates the battery. When I got the call I kinda laughed because just yesterday I was bragging to some friends about my electric car and how hassle free it is. I guess I jinxed it.

QOTD: I'm fine with the streaming but certain movies are much better on the huge screen and the surround sound system. I can't imagine watching Star Wars when they came out, on TV alone at home. Half of the excitement was being at the theatre with other people that are as excited as you. I honestly don't know how I feel about crowds after all this is over.

My meals yesterday:

  • B: protein coffee
  • L: left over Thai chicken satay
  • S: not one but TWO quest bars, when do I learn?
  • D: skipped due to too much snack
  • E: 30 minutes cardio + 50 minutes strength training

Happy taco Tuesday!

Somewhere I read that there is much less flu this year, due to social distancing and masks. I wonder if we will ever get back to like before COVID-19.

I read that there is less flu because there is less travel from the Southern Hemisphere as that?s where it usually starts, because they are in winter while we are in summer.

of course the 1918 influenza started in Kansas and went east with the troop transports.
