Mornin' All!

UGH - I was up half the night with my "redundant colon" issue (also called "torturous colon" - and with good reason!). It usually just happens when I eat a ton of fiber. I almost always eat 20-30 grams of fiber a day - but there wasn't a day this week when I ate more than that - or ate something really fibrous like bran cereal. Hmm. I did have some popcorn yesterday afternoon, but it takes way longer than 12 hours for something to move through my pokey system (and on top of that, I don't think I ate enough of it to set it off). Hmmm. Well, at least it's over. I'm really dragging this morning, though. I wish I could just sleep, but the Mah Jongg gang has a game scheduled for 9:30 this morning that's already been re-scheduled a couple of times, so I'll just make the best of it... other than that, not much on tap for today. It's so sunny and beautiful out, though, that I'll go for a walk if it's not too cold..

QOTD: I usually weigh daily but just record it in my tracker on Wednesdays (I had my surgery on a Wednesday) - and I post it in a Excel spreadsheet once a month on the 3rd (I had my surgery on the 3rd)

TSS: 5y6m

B: either plain Greek yogurt with cherry/cranberry compote, or a Jimmy Dean's D-Light breakfast sandwich (with egg whites and turkey sausage). Coffee with half & half

MS: probably nothing since I'm having a late breakfast - which is why I may go with the breakfast sandwich (it'll hold me over longer than the yogurt will)

L: whatever I don't have for breakfast, I'll have for lunch

AS: pumpkin Fit Frappe, probably a L&F yogurt with raspberries and a light English muffin with pumpkin cream cheese (still haven't had this, although I've planned for it for at least a couple of days now....)

D: apple/coconut/red lentil dal

these two pictures always seem to pop up on Facebook around this time of year, and I love them both. I keep thinking I look so much thinner in these than I do now, but I'm averaging only 2-3 lbs more now than I did four years ago when these were taken. I don't know that this thinking-I'm-heavier-than-I-actually-am feeling will ever end! One is of me and Cynthia (NYMom) from here on OH during a meet up in the Chicago suburbs, the other is me and my mother in the community room of her apartment complex.

I love your Christmas window JB !

Had an interesting conversation last nite with my AA sponsor grand sponsor and a bunch of friends in the same sponsor family.

The consensus was that excess food addiction recovery IS kind of the same as in it requires Honesty Open-mindedness and Willingness to recover but that the step stuff may be sort of different.

I've done( started never finished ) workbooks in probably five or six different fellowships depending on what the issue I was focusing on was at the time.

I think they all helped get me to where I am today - which is remarkably peaceful about overeating ( and drinking) despite the fact that I am frustrated with myself for doing less than I'd like each day especially recently.

The pool was way too cold to swim today - I hope my Dad talks with management regarding the sitch because this constantly happened last winter too. They're simply not adjusting the pool heater I suspect from winter to summer and to get it to 82 ( it was 76 this morning at 8) they need to jack the heat up the night before as they leave as it takes a long time to raise the temperature especially when nights are cool.

I also figured out why I'm choosing to sleep in the easy chair - lying down has given me GERD again ! Probably the result of eating " real" cheese, commercial cookies and my own not that low-fat meatloaf ... eating fat is what's causing excess stomach acid.

I HATE and fear feeling this because it caused me such vexation in the past and I truly hoped I was permanently over it post op but I guess not . I'll have to be MUCH more careful to eat very low-fat at dinner from now on.

B- everything bagel puffs made with expanded pizza dough

L- probably cabbage/ meatloaf mix, rice / ff sour cream casserole

D- TBD maybe seafood salad low-fat

Solved the algae issue 1/2 way using 2 UV pond filters . Hopefully the corals will recover. Getting second bid on painting the apartment in an hour ...

I don't weigh unless I happen to see a scale at the gym or the doctors but I do look at my stomach rolls sitting over sideways . Those ALWAYS show the evidence of misfeeds!

These are insta-phone snaps - they let me see my waist is still too wide and posture is sagging...thats another indicator for me ...good posture instantly removes ten lbs ... and I have SUCH a tendency to slouch when I Imagine I'm standing straight grrr...

Good Morning JB and Menuers,

Ha Ha I made it to Friday and managed not to get fired. Been hiding in the closet office that they made for me . Figuring out of site out of mind.

JB those photo's are great. I love your decorations in your bay window. And Fez Being Fez is adorable.

I got nothing really this weekend. Is it sad my 83 year old mother got more going on than I do. I will go tomorrow to wipe up her kitchen do her laundry and cut and color her hair. I can't have her going to bowling with her hair a mess. I been looking for a fun graphic Sweatshirt that talks about old people on it as a gift for Christmas but nothing is jumping out at me if anyone knows of something fun give me a heads up. She is a feisty lady and I know she would like to wear some fun shirt to bowling.

QOTD: I think I have weighed myself every day for most of my life starting in high school. I can tell you what I weighed on most big occasions in my life. I know my weight when I met my DH, when I got married , the day my dad passed away, what I weighed the day I started this job 24 years ago(I am less now). Pretty much a habit and when dieticians say that is so bad you should only weigh once a week I say Bull**** The only way to keep it in check is to know the number.

Accountability: I thought I did good but it did not show on the scale. When I eat RGF Pizza it really feels me and I do not snack if I have it for dinner. Maybe the loss is just delayed. I'll see tomorrow.

TSS: 2 years 11 Months and 22 day 131.2 (Lowest 129.4)

MS: Premier Blueberry oat Protein shake and berries

L: turkey meatballs and snack select

D: BBQ chicken casserole and cauliflower ravioli.

Exercise: 3 mile run (done)

Water and vitamins: On track. I take a Bariatric Advantage Ultra multi w/iron I use bariatric advantage Calcium chews and my blood work has been great. My B12 has been High so I cut my sublingual to every 3rd or 4th day. And I have now added 500mg of Magnesium

Everybody have a Great weekend.

Brightest Blessing

Chrissy

That mug is too funny!

Look at the bright side, you have a job. A lot of people don't have that opportunity. Office space is just space, who cares? Make it yours, decorate the heck out of it. But be grateful you have a job.

OK that is what I was looking for. But the spoiled brat in me just wants to kick scream and cry. I had my moment. I am over it. And your right I am grateful for all the years at this Job. The boss passed me today and said something nice so I think he is over it too. Fingers crossed.
