Nope I've never heard of it, but I love a good sour pickle! I don't think a pickle slushy sounds good, but straight up frozen pickle juice like a popsicle? Yum!

They have pickle pops here...they are like those otter popsicles but pickle juice! I haven't had them but I have some pickled green beans that are sooo good.

My sister keeps all the pickle juice and drinks it like I drink ginger tea when not feeling well and one of my besties since childhood does the dill slushy, dill vodka, dill everything...hmm her youngest son is DYLan...I think she might have a problem.

I do love dill! As I mentioned just above I even add dill mustard to scrambled eggs before cooking.
My family has always had pickled stuff. I love sweet pickled jalapeños that have tons of onion in it. They are seriously like crack and the brand we like is made here in Texas. Sooooo good!

Morning, morning all. I woke up feeling cheerful this morning and I plan to enjoy that emotion as long as it lasts!! It's cold but sunny here and the cats and I are soaking up the sun while it lasts!
I'm still really struggling to eat much, and the real bummer is that the Unjury meal replacements that I bought to help my nutrition are making me very sick. No idea why, but my tum was NOT happy! I did get my bariatric chewable vitamins, so fingers crossed that helps! The other problem is that with little nutrition, I get very tired very quickly, very similar to what we experienced in the first while after bariatric surgery.
QOTD: I LOVE Brussels sprouts, especially roasted! Unfortunately they have way too much fiber to be part of my diet any more. JB, I LOVE pancakes and waffles with peanut/almond butter and I hate French toast with syrup. I mean it's eggs and who in the world would want syrup on eggs?! In the privacy of my own home, I actually eat French toast with ketchup...don't tell though!
My QOTD: for those of you a few years post-surgery, do you still have regular appointments with a surgeon? Do you find it helpful? I am grateful for my surgeon and how the surgery changed my life, but the surgeon was horrible and his follow-up program was full of misinformation. After the first year, I only went for my 2 year anniversary. Now with my diagnosis of gastroparesis, I would like to have a follow-up appointment but certainly not with my original surgeon. Unfortunately, I find that way too many weight loss surgeons just want to do the cutting and not the long term care. Your experience?
Food plan: LF yogurt w/ unsweetened applesauce; SF Jello (?); pureed turkey w/ orzo soup (thanks to a wonderful friend!) plus maybe a few ounces of canned chicken; a popsicle; maybe some egg whites
Exercise: I need to do my PT exercises twice today.
Wishing you all a safe, healthy and happy day!
Janet

I adore my surgeon and their follow up program is excellent, so I definitely wouldn't miss an opportunity to go to my follow up. When I moved, though, I wanted to see if there was a surgeon closer to me who would take over my follow up care and no one would... Apparently, unless you move really far, surgeons will not take over someone else's post-op care--so you are probably stuck with your original guy.
I liked my surgeon till the day of my surgery when he postponed it because he was at a Steeler game the night before. He gave me a sleeve which was the plan but something went wrong post op and I threw up every hour on the hour for the next 8 days while remaining in the hospital. My family did not know I was having the surgery. He bailed on me and sent his partner to cover his ass. After 8 days of misery and them not trying to control my nausea with the correct meds they took me back in and gave me RNY. OK I stopped puking but I wanted the sleeve(I am glad I got RNY now) The partner only stayed with the practice for about a year and he quit and moved out of town. I sure was not following up with the idiot that screwed it up. I found another practice that friends had there surgery through and I do my follow ups there. I still go once a year for a follow up, however up till pandemic days the original practice had a great support group that met every month that I was able to meet many knowledgeable and helpful people. There were people 10 years out that were still faithful to help the newbies out. So I continued with their support. They do zoom now and I'm not a fan but hopefully someday It will go back to in person.
I would defiantly look for another practice to follow up with. They do more detailed blood work than you PCP and can help make sure your not deficient in your vitamins.
HW 299 SW 290 CW 139 GW 140 2/08/2019 OPERATION: Surgical Hernia with excision of total surface area of 55 x 29 cm of abdominal skin.
I received a call just this week from my surgeon's office for a follow up. Missed the appt during summer because I thought they wouldn't see anybody during COVID. They said they are running behind but have started seeing patients again. I love my surgeon and his whole team.
