when I had my second plastic surgery, they fed me dinner at like 4:00 p.m. By 9:00 pm, I was starving. Food service had long since closed (who eats dinner at 4:00, anyway?). So DH went to the nursing station to see if they had anything, and they sent him to the vending machines in the basement. He came back up to my room to report that all they had in the vending machine were things like chips, candy bars, and gum. At a freaking hospital? So he went to the Walgreens down the street and got me a protein bar. When I did the evaluation of my hospital stay, I suggested they request to have at least a couple of healthy snacks stocked in their vending machines - like a thing of cashews - or even peanut butter crackers would be an improvement!) and/or have some healthy snacks at the nurses' station. Hopefully they did.

Glad you are home and that the half pain pill worked! It's funny how each surgery/event can be a different recovery. Hope you continue to get feeling better.

One of my exes used to soak venison in milk, I think it was actually buttermilk, for a day and then pan fry it -- it was so good.

feeling "off" today. Just not feeling good. Lots of pain and blah blah blah.

not much planned for the day. We have to deliver(a little late) some advent calendars to my nieces and nephew. They are so cute! Will share a picture tomorrow! One is a dinosaur and the other two is unicorns. We found them at the thrift stores months ago. I need to make some chainmaille stuff for the kids today...should be able to get some done.

qotd: I'm not sure...I like a lot of different things. They don't seem gross or weird to me. I like pickle juice in scrambled eggs....I guess that's weird! LOL. My mom likes BBQ sauce on her popcorn and syrup on peanut butter. BTW I like plain pancakes with butter too!

I do love dill...fresh or in pickles. I also like putting dill mustard in my scrambled eggs before cooking and is sooo good!

Pickle juice in anything is weird to me. I read somewhere people eat frozen pickle juice, like an icecream!

Seriously? Have you had it before? I can't even picture it. And it gives me goosebumps thinking about eating pickle juice frozen.
