What's on your Tuesday Menu?

Good morning!

Holy crap, not only is it Taco Tuesday, but December 1st as well. Just nuts!

QOTD - I am not a fan of moving things around, this way and that way "just to see". I like finding a way that works, gives open space and then sticking with it. I think the dogs prefer to have things a certain way too.

Breakfast - fasting, so hot green tea and water

Lunch - tofu/polenta/soyrizo scramble with vegan chao cheese, toast with avocado butter

Snack - fruit smoothie

Snack - apple with peanut butter

Dinner - oh no clue. I have nothing planned

I hope you all have a great day, be well and be safe.

Christina

Mornin' All!

I have to do some work for a couple of my organizations today, plus finish securely wrapping up some of my mother's art work to send to my cousin in DC (she wants to give it as Christmas gifts), plus I signed up for some Zoom presentation at 10:00, and I have my classes, and then I'm planning to do a kickboxing Zoom thing at 5:00 (I'd like to do the cardio dance one right after - but we'll see how worn out I am after kickboxing). Oh - and a friend needs a new laptop and wants me to recommend one. I already have to buy a new laptop for one of my organizations, so I'll just research them for her as well.

accountability has been good the last few days, but I was up 2 lbs this morning. I had some chicken soup at lunch (yesterday) and 2 oz of ham at dinner, so I blame one/both of those (that ham was very salty - I may let DH finish the rest of it. The chicken soup didn't taste too salty, but broth always has a lot more salt than you'd think...)

QOTD: I used to love to do this when I was a kid, but I've never done it here. Our living room and main family room were done by interior designers, so I've kept everything as they planned it. Plus we have built-in cabinetry and shelving in both of those rooms, and a fireplace in the living room, so there aren't many options on where to put furniture. I did switch things around in one of the guest bedrooms once (to create more space). The master bedroom has a big window on one wall and a walk-in closet and bathroom on another - and a smaller (but pretty wide) closet on a third, so with this room, too, there just aren't a lot of options other than what we already have going on in there...

TSS: 5y5m

B: protein yogurt pumpkin pie with cinnamon whipped cream, coffee with half & half

MS: pumpkin Fit Frappe (love these...)

L: well, I'd planned on chicken salad, but DH just told me he polished it off last night, so not sure. Maybe a salad with that salty ham on it? And light dressing?

AS: L&F with raspberries. Or else pumpkin yogurt.

D: well, now I'm not sure about this, either. I did my menu last night and put the salty ham down for dinner (along with a sweet potato), but I don't know if I want all that sodium again. Maybe 1/2 a veggie burger and a sweet potato??

I just got a brand new MacBook Air and I cannot say enough good things about it! I love it so much that I am having a hard time transitioning over to my work computer every day and I find myself just working from my personal computer a lot.

Also, 'Salty Ham' should be Grim's stripper name.

I always did my own decorating, but think I will hire a designer when I redo the living room. One of my friends did that and the room is stunning.

I'm more of a slipcover /change the rugs ( just rotate them from top to the bottom of the stack) seasonally type of person.

I really like everything white, bright accents and cottons in the summer and velvets and silks, mohair and sheepskin accents and cozy fireplaces in the winter so it works either way with light colored walls and white trim and tons of mirrors to enlarge and lighten the space.

My latest thing in Florida is lots of light-up led furniture which is super fun and modern looking . One of these days when its finished I'll take pics :)

Finally not turned off by the idea of cooking after Thanksgiving. Making a low-fat egg and potato and fat free sour cream layered casserole for lunch , which meant eating " bacon " for breakfast :) I usually don't like it but my substitute ( smoked pork loin ) is a PERFECT taste substitute without the headache inducing nitrites or extra fat .. so its YUMMY .

B-Chai tea latte , 1/2 cup " bacon" bites

one ice milk bar

l- egg /potato , ff sour cream " bacon" casserole , Hungarian fresh cucumber salad

D- Homemade roasted pumpkin and mini carrot soup Spanish style ( finished w fresh cilantro)- perhaps toast n cheese n homemade SF cranberry/apricot jam w the 'rents ( we're enjoying binge watching the Silk Road and Marco Polo Amazon series'. together- like three episodes at a time :)

Fresh papaya and ice milk bar for dessert.

No swimming today 'cuz its FREEZING Literally had to heat last nite . Maybe a beach walk or ( more likely ) shopping today - it is WALKING and WORK in the grocery store, no ?

G'morning gang!

Another gorgeous crisp day in my neck of the woods. Average temp in the high 50s low 60s, blue skies and sunny. This is our winter. I have finally pulled out the light coats and thin sweaters. So excited to wear them with booties.

Yup, December is here and I can't wait for this year to be over. Hoping for good news by the end of spring 2021.

QOTD: nope. Once we got it the way we like it we don't move it any more. I think DH is more committed to keeping it the way it is than I am. I would love to get rid of a huge entertainment center and have floating shelves on the wall around a big tv screen but he is in love with that furniture because it was custom made and our first big purchase. I think it has outlived its purpose.

Accountability: Back on the wagon. I feel so much better and in control when I'm not eating all the junk. But my pantry nowadays is a dangerous place to walk into.

My meals yesterday:

  • B: protein coffee
  • L: hb eggs + tuna
  • S: 2 oz of unexpected cheddar (Jen, I'm addicted to this cheese)
  • D: home made ragù on top of cauliflower rice
  • E:30 minutes cardio+ 50 minutes strength training

Happy taco Tuesday!

I saw on TJs flyer that they have two new cheeses - a lemon ricotta and a cheddar that has cumin and cloves. I think I will have to make a run this weekend!

Please report back your findings. I trust your taste. I don't like the texture of ricotta, never eat it solo. But I'm interested in the cumin clove cheddar.

I know people who still have their first stereo system because it was their first big purchase. I am currently replacing a bedroom set that I bought in 1969. It has plenty of wear and tear, but it is going to be an adjustment to get used to the drawers being a bit different.

It is so neat that the new furniture will have USB ports built in for charging electronics. Also the dresser, chest, and nightstands have a very narrow top drawer that is like a pull out tray for jewelry. I will no longer need the charging stand or the jewelry boxes and love having less things to take up space and to dust.
