Hi there! I'm new to posting on here but could not quite find anything on this question. I am getting a very slight cold and my surgery is scheduled for 7 days away. My pre-op is in 2. Has anyone recently experienced this and have been able to have surgery?

If it's just a cold, it will go ahead. I suspect they'll want you to have a covid test anyway

Thank you! I'm just freaked out. Work so hard to get the approval and scheduled surgery date and then wham. Hello cold. Lol

I had a cold the week before my RNY. My surgeon had me see my family doctor the day before surgery to be sure he approved me for the surgery. There were no issues, but I would let the surgeon's office know about the cold.

Thanks! I called and they said it shouldn't be an issue unless I had a fever and luckily I see him tomorrow. Fingers crossed I don't have to reschedule:)

I didn't have a cold prior to my surgery but I have heard others mention that they did and the surgery went on as scheduled. Hope you have a speedy recovery!
