Mornin' All!

well I am now five lbs heavier than when I started this stupid drug nine days ago. I KNOW it is almost all water. I've kicked around the idea of going to Walgreens to get a diuretic - not because of the number on the scale (because i know it's jus****er), but because it's making me feel like absolute crap. I feel really bloated and my fingers are all swollen up - UGH! Although I know that (diuretic) is probably a bad idea. I may just have to live with this. Hopefully she'll let me get off this damn thing after one month (so three more weeks!) rather than two. I just hope it goes away as quickly as it came on!

I have my film discussion group today at 12:30, and then we're going to a driveway birthday celebration at 5:00. Too bad it's so freaking cold out today - I can't imagine I'll be at the celebration for more than 10 or 15 minutes! (which is fine - I won't be tempted to eat more cake!). Otherwise, nothing. Although I'll exercise for sure. I'm trying to ward off any more weight gain (not sure it will help since it's water retention - but at least it might help me avoid any REAL weight gain!)

I went over my calorie range by 150 kcal yesterday, but I got in an hour of biking and 45 minutes of Zumba, so I'm guessing I worked that off. Still, I need to focus on not overdoing it today.

QOTD: yes - with the help of my hand

TSS: 5y5m

B: cottage cheese with blueberry compote, coffee with half & half

MS: Fit Frappe

L: 2 oz ham with a small sweet potato (topped with 1/2 T of butter and brown "sugar" Swerve)

AS: yogurt pie

D: 4 oz chicken with a tomato/herb sauce

small piece of cake at that birthday celebration

have a great day, everyone!

whoops - forgot to add these. We couldn't find our elderly cat the other day (age 15). Looked EVERYWHERE, but he was nowhere to be found. Then I noticed the cupboard above the refrigerator was open. When he was younger, he used to somehow get that door open and from there get into the rest of the upper cabinets (they're the original cabinets, so they're all connected at the top). So I opened one of the other cabinet doors and.....ta da!...he was up there looking down at me! And he did it again the next day, too!

So funny about your cat! Have you asked your doctor about the possibility of a diuretic? Perhaps short-term it would be ok?

good idea - I think i will. This morning I'm slamming a bunch of black tea which may help a bit as well - but I'll ask her about a diuretic. Thanks!!

That tree is beautiful. When I was much younger, I used to take a diuretic for a few days before a doctor appointment. Because when your weight gets recorded by the doctor it is official and can never again be denied. So I always tried to lose about three pounds with the water pills. I know now how stupid that was.

The only time I will touch my heel to my butt now is in a swimming pool. I can do it, but would worry about losing my balance. I am at the point in life where I worry so much about falling. My cat likes me to lie on the floor and brush and pet her several times a day. She has a throw rug that she lies on when she wants to be brushed and lays there starring at me until I come and do my work.

I know this is a good thing because it keeps me in practice on getting up from the ground. Being able to get up from a fall is a good skill for a senior citizen to have. i practice getting up without using my hands. Some days that is almost impossible to do.

There are Youtube videos with different techniques. It can be a very useful skill as we get older. It is a good idea for everyone to practice it.

Good Morning JB and Menuers,

OK I cried yesterday. This is unusual for me and I puked 3 times because of the situation. I have had my own office here at work for 10 years + and I found out they are putting my arch nemesis in the other side of my office that houses the files cabinmates at this time. It didn't take me long to figure they were up to something and My anxiety had sky rocketed, I wasn't going to say anything but after lunch I was truly ready to quit a job I worked for 24 years. I just could not hold it in anymore and I went to the owner and asked what they were doing. Everything here is on the hush hush if your not one of the in the know people here and he said who told you. I said I am not stupid. He said well I am hiring someone and I need that other office, I said ok then put my desk in the f__king warehouse I will not NOT be in the same office as this Male chauvinists, racist, son of a ***** Blood was boiling. Well we cam to a compromise and he is going to put up a wall. That will now leave me basically in a closet with no windows. It is better than the latter. If I would not have spoke up I would never had slept last night and It would have gnawed at me to the point of being sicker to my stomach than I already was. So glad I did not let it linger I would have been a mess.

QOTD: Yes I have to use my hand to pull it up but I do it as a stretch every morning before and after running. Before surgery I couldn't grab my foot.

Accountability: I had some smokehouse almonds.
