What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?

Happy FriYAY to everyone except for me, who is already mourning the end of my staycation :( It's been such a nice week! Sorry I haven't had time to come back on and read most days, but it's great not to be tied to my computer!
On my last day, I am starting with a visit to my surgeon. She did my first surgery 12 years ago, and my revision 5 years ago, and has been with me step by step the whole way. I feel so lucky to be with such a caring and skilled team! Anyway, the office is right outside of Boston and Grim is going to come with me (waiting in the car, of course) and then we are going to have a nice walking day in Cambridge/Boston. No particular plans, but just looking to have a nice day of exploring in a socially distant way (no stores). I really miss Boston! Until this year, I had spent time in Boston every day since I was 19, and I really miss being in our beautiful city.
Pics are little moments from the week. Tree is up (and the cats are ignoring it!)! And a Fall walk by the ocean :)
QOTD: Can you touch your heel to your butt? I can do it! But Grim was telling me a funny story about how he knew an older, out of shape guy that he used to work with, who was on workers comp for a work injury and the criteria that the physical therapist gave for him to return was that he could touch his heel to his butt. Grim was laughing because under no cir****tances was this guy ever going to be able to do that!
I was not awesome about my eating plan yesterday. I did great with exercise, but I ate way off plan and nothing good. I can't help but think I was doing some self-sabotage before my meeting with the surgeon today... Sigh.
Not really sure what the full menu plan will be today since we'll be out for most of the day. I have a gift certificate to a favorite BBQ restaurant where I would love to go get take-out, but they don't open until 4pm so I am not sure if we'll be in town long enough.
B: Protein Coffee, Eggs & Vegetable Stirfry
Snacks: Chomps Meat Stick & Light Babybel Cheese (bringing this with me in case we are not able to grab food safely anywhere)
L: ??
D: ?? If we are home, I'll have steak tips and cauliflower, but I am sure hoping for BBQ!
Morning! I slept pretty well last night which is rare these days. I managed to take my final exam for one of two classes and I can't take the other exam until at least Sunday. So, I hope I can read some of my fun book this weekend - although I should also spend time preparing a study guide for my other exam. I'm truly so excited to have two months off from taking classes. This will be the first break of any duration in 3 years of continual classes. I think the rest of the weekend plans just include getting the house ready for a Christmas tree next week sometime and probably having a bon fire or two. We may go get flag stones for a path between our house and garage.
Oh! I wanted to update too that the fish pie Jon made was delicious. I never would have thought, but it was. It had salmon, onions, mushrooms, hard boiled egg, a dill crepe (!?), and rice in it. The pastry was perfectly flakey too. I am the baker in the house so that was a big win for him. (see picture below).
QOTD: Yeah, I can. Although I have to stay on top of stretching to make sure I don't lose flexibility. One of my PT exercises includes Quad stretching and touching my heel to my butt. It's become pretty easy recently, but hasn't always been!
Our newly constructed fence. We live in a really dense neighborhood (as you can see), so this has made our yard much more usable!
Jon's fish pie. The ? was fitting, but it did turn out great.

The fence & fish pie both look fantastic! Congrats on finishing your exams :)
Yay for a couple of months of free time to read at pleasure. That fish pie sounds and looks delicious.

Yummm on the pie and congrats on getting a break! I went to school at night for 8 years and I know how hard it is.

Good morning menu crew.
well my nerve block was denied during a peer to peer review yesterday. So there is really nothing I can do about it. I feel really really depressed at the moment. The pain is just eating away at me. I can't sleep well. I'm trying really hard to be positive. My eating has been a tepid ok which I'll take. I've not gone crazy but once. Last night I had a handful of potato chips that turned into 3.
qotd: I can kick myself in the butt...even at my highest weight I could. My left leg was easier but I can hold my right heel to my backside.
my pics are of my pups. Skippy-Lou (as I call her anyway) is the chihuahua and Frankie is...well scared of the camera so good photos are few and far between.
b: oatmeal with coffee
l: maybe a wrap of some fashion
d: chili or ???
s: popcorn, maybe some gf crackers.

Sorry to hear about the decision. Keep plugging away at advocating for yourself...
Love those pup pics!
Dog pics are always happy pics.
Hope you feel better. Hang in there.
