Whats on your Thursday Menu?

Hi Everyone! Well, I am learning from my staycation that I am basically ready to retire :) I love this life!--I am relaxing, cooking, cleaning, reading, exercising, and (virtually) socializing, with no pressures about time. It's lovely! Yesterday, I wrapped about 3/4 of all of my Christmas presents and put up the tree! It's silly to have it up so early, I know....but it was nice to do it while I didn't feel stressed about it. And I feel so much better having the presents wrapped, under the tree, and out of the guest bedroom where they were starting to take over that room!
Today's plan was to spend the day with my mom, but we decided that with COVID numbers rising significantly in our areas recently, we really shouldn't see each other right now. So I suddenly have the day completely free and I have no idea what I am going to do. Its going to be rainy and yucky out, so I think today might be a crafty day!
QOTD: Do you use a wearable fitness tracker? Do you like it? I used to have a Fitbit but I moved to an Apple Watch a few years ago and I love it! The Apple Watch is less concerned about steps that the Fitbit which took some time to get used to, but I think it does a good job tracking active calories burned a lot better.
Well, my food & exercise were on point all day until Grim brought home a little pizza last night. My macros ended up completely okay, nonetheless. Phew! I have leftover pizza on the menu today (planned this time!).

Good morning everyone.
I'm up way to early yet again. Not much sleep so it promises to be a very very long day. I've got an appointment with my eye specialist doctor today. Will probably just have the testing and see him sometimes next week. This is the office that plays Fox News. So...yeah not excited for that. Lots of sitting so my back will be hurting more later too.
So far the prior authorization is still pending for the nerve block tomorrow. I'm hopeful it'll get approved but nothing would shock me.
I should get my supplies today for a big order and I'm excited! I got a slime green small snowflake done for my nephew and will do a pink and darker blue one for the nieces. I'm doing a loot box for them for Christmas. My nephew is even getting something he can wear...he'd be so upset if I didn't. It will be boyish colors(mostly green as that's his favorite color) and I don't really care if my brother doesn't like it! He's only 5!
May get the tree up today so the kitties get used to it.
qotd: I used to have a Fitbit but kept having issues with it...got a replacement and it still messed up. I would love an Apple Watch but I don't even have a cell phone! I do hope to get one some day
b: gf bread, egg and plant based butter...coffee!
l: rest of the Sonoma gf and df pizza.
d: chili, daiya cheese and tofutti sour cream
s: no idea at this point

Melody - If you want a tracker, please send me a personal message with your address and I will mail you the Garmin tracker I bought in April and will not be using anymore. You will just need to create a Garmin ID and add the Garmin app to your PC. It is a Garmin Forerunner 35. I will ask Garmin to transfer the ownership to you.

Well they denied the nerve block. I'm miserable but my eyes are in great shape so that's good.
I really don't know how to handle this pain.

I have used Garmin trackers since they came out around 2012. I used Garmin because they were the only water resistant tracker back then and I did a lot of water exercise.
This week I got my first Apple Watch. I am confused and lost with it. I am used to counting steps and then having the data go by Bluetooth to my computer. I have used it to answer phone calls and feel like Dick Tracy doing that. I will set it for a walk and then forget to turn it off. I am not used to having to recharge it all the time.
I am glad I am not working this month, because it is going to take time to learn how to use this thing. Is there any quick start course for this thing?

Ya for your new Apple Watch! I think once you get used to it, you will love it. My mom has had hers for about 3 years and she uses it more than her phone. She even pays for her coffee on her watch and impresses all of the senior citizens in her group, haha.
Not sure about a specific good tutorial but I bet if you google it, you will find some YouTube videos to show you best ways to set everything up. Do you have an iPhone? That's where the data will sync to so that you can get really thorough reports online about everything.

I upgraded the iPhone to a 12. That came on Sunday. I spent most of the day trying to get a real person at AT&T because they needed to make a change in their system for calls to go to the new phone. I finally got someone in their Chat who fixed that for me. Then I told her that my phone did not come with a wall charger. She said they are doing that to save packing costs.
The iPhone 12 does not work with a regular USB charger. It has to have one called USB-C
So I went to bed on Sunday with a cell phone that was almost dead and no way to charge it. I had a doctor appointment Monday morning. COVID is bad here so you can't just walk into the office. You call from your car and then they call you when they are ready for you. My appointment was at 11:00. I drove to three different stores trying to find the right charger. I wanted to get a charger, take it home and have at least a partly charged phone for my appointment.
None of the stores had the new charger and they all tried to sell me a regular USB one. So I went to my appointment and had enough power to call them and tell them that my phone was almost dead and they might have to come out to the parking lot and get me if it died before they called me.
After my appointment I went to AT&T store and they had the charger I needed. I also ordered a wireless charger from Amazon that charges my phone and watch together.
I did see that feature where you pay with your iPhone and that is actually much better security than a credit card. I also found out that if you are in a public place and need to use your iPhone that facial recognition does not work when you are wearing a mask.
I wanted the Apple watch for the emergency call feature. It looks a lot nicer than the Life Alert and the watch has detection if you take a hard fall. I need that senior citizen protection feature but hated wearing the big clumsy Life Alert. If you have a hard fall and don't respond within one minute, it calls an ambulance. Because I live alone, this is a big plus for me.

I got my iPhone 12 today and I had to come ask you - did you have an iPhone previous to the 12? I bought a power brick and USB-C to USB-A adaptors on Amazon. It was most of the day before I realized I could just use my regular USB lightening cables to charge and you don't have to use the new cable. I felt so damn dumb. I work in IT, too! DUH ERIN.
