Hello My Friends! Welcome back to a new week. Hope you all had a nice weekend! My was super duper low key. I spent more time lounging on the couch watching tv over the last two days than in the last month combined, I think! I also spent lots of time on the phone catching up with friends and family. It was nice!

In other news, remember when I said last week that I got my GERD under control and felt less hungry? All of a sudden my hunger seems to have just...stopped. It's super bizarre, but I have barely remembered to eat since Thursday morning--and we have bags of Halloween candy laying around that haven't called to me at all (crazy, right?). I'm definitely not complaining, but I am really curious if this is really related to controlling my GERD or something different?

QOTD: What two animals would be fun to combine and make a hybrid out of? My first thought was to combine a cat with a pea**** I think the catwalk strut would look awesome with pea**** feathers :) My next thought is to do something completely ridiculous and mix up a penguin and a kangaroo. I'd love to see bouncing penguins!

I wonder if the pandemic is really starting to affect grocery stores again? I heard from DCGirl that she witnessed some panic buying this weekend a the Costco where she lives, and I placed an Instacart order this weekend and they literally only brought 6 things--everything else was sold out! Yikes. Needless to say I don't have a great menu for this week, but I am not going to go to the store. Cases are way to high in the area for me to want to venture out. I'll just eat down the freezer if I need to. Luckily I have plenty of my staples - eggs, apples and coffee :)

Ha ha cat w pea**** ! I think we own one of those !

The half- grown Persian kitten I bred for my Mother constantly ? shakes a tail feather ? ... she is so proud of her long silky fur that she grooms for hours to perfection, her dainty paws , long graceful neck and bouncy gait and especially the plume tail that is wider than she is ... she just STRUTS ! ( God help us when she comes into heat a year from now )

The beach / pool party was great ... made up w ? rents just before ( Mom actually apologized and Dad finally came to the table ) so ate fat free homemade cheese n spinach lasagna right before the party.

A couple of cookies were all I ate there, then had a few slices rosemary/ Parmesan Costco bread w very thin truffle goat cheese n smoked gruyere on top for a late dinner , oh and 1/2 a bag Whole Foods grilled artichoke hearts , my latest vegetable addiction.

It was great seeing zoom friends in person finally and the outdoor sunny ( sterilizing ) setting and ( some ) distancing means no worries Covid wise ( though my parents greeted m with masks on when I brought them the leftover cookies lol

Thinking seriously of skating when the sun comes out , then swimming an hour .

B Chai tea latte sf ff

l- Lean trimmed pork chops w toasted onion / paprika / fresh mushroom sauce n fat free sour cream. ? porkolt? in Hungarian

this is traditionally served with homemade spaetzle - I think I have some dried though they?re very easy if time consuming to make fresh

homemade Hungarian cucumber salad ( thin slice peeled cukes in food processor , salt and let sit for a few hours to get out bitterness and excess juice -squeeze out juice and salt , discard - taste - add a cup of water , a bit vinegar and a spoonful of sugar to taste and sprinkle paprika over the top before serving.

Skinny cow ice cream sandwich for dessert or fresh plum crisp if I?m ambitious

D- leftover lasagna

S -more ice milk n kettle cooked oil free popcorn

I make sauerbraten with sweet and sour red cabbage. I have never made noodles and always wanted to make spaetzle. Do you have a pasta roller or do it all by hand?

Its done by hand just dropping little bits of dough off a spoon into boiling water. Super easy - the recipe is just flour, salt ( I use butter buds ) and a bit of yeast starter if you like them a little fluffier like gnocchi .

Thanks. There used to be a German store here, but it closed down. I love German foods, but have never made noodles. I remember trying potato gnocchi once and they were delicious but took me most of a day. I went back to buying them frozen. I am going to make the spaetzle next time I want a German meal.

Happy Monday and happy November!! I had a pretty self indulgent weekend of reading and doing very few productive things.

i has a virtual coffee date with my sister on Saturday, it was good to catch up with her! I have a friend coming to stay with me for a week starting Wednesday, she retired about 5 years ago and lives the RV lifestyle, loves it! She usually spends November here in Colorado visiting the family so she's alternating weeks across a group of friends rather than staying with her son/DL and the two grand kids that are 3 and newborn, lol. We are starting to see lots of spikes here and my county went up an alert level and the one next to me is one step above full lockdown.

I'm about to go for an early morning walk and then get started at work.

qotd - dog + ferret, then you could always have a puppy in your pocket. Ferrets are such funny animals and so smart and dogs are so love able.

menu today looks like

Gf PB toast

carbmaster yogurt and deli ham

Fat head pizza

L&F greek

coffee plus half and half X3

have a magnificent Monday and great start to the week and month!

Sign me up for a pocket puppy!

Interesting to hear that where you live, different counties have different lock down stages to align with the alert levels. Most towns in the eastern part of our state are in the red now, but no lockdown levels happen automatically when the alert level goes up, which seems really stupid to me.

Our governor has handled all this pretty well, including outlining where/when the brakes go on. He also pushed through some $ for people on unemployment from the state starting this month so I hope that helps.

We have so much variation - some of our less populated counties are green with very few cases overall and then we have some rural counties that are not trending well but won't do anything other than the statewide required restrictions.

I like the idea of a pocket puppy too, but am not overly fond of ferrets.

Good morning all! This weekend flew by for me. Now it's back to a long week of work. Mg accountability was so so yesterday. Wasn't great, but wasn't horrible either. Let's hope this week will be on track all the way.

QOTD: maybe a cat with an owl. I don't know why, I just think that would be cool and those are two of my favorite animals.

B: coffee w/ Splenda & sf creamer

B2: protein shake

L: 2 oz chicken breast & a hard boiled egg

D: 4 oz baked salmon and veggies

S: L&F Greek yogurt and an apple
