What's on your (PHOTO) Friday Menu?

Morning folks, I'm late logging in, but I had acupuncture this morning. I've always had some mixed feelings about some alternative medicine, but over the years I've had some real relief whether or not it's the placebo effect. Fortunately her office is only about 4 blocks from us so I don't have to drive and I feel completely safe with her.
My appointment with my neurologist yesterday (telehealth) was not very hopeful. He gave me 4 days of high dosage muscle relaxants for the weekend and if that doesn't magically fix everything, it looks like there will be one more cycle of neck injections followed by a consultation with the neurosurgeon for surgery. My cervical vertebra at 4-5 is shot and it may mean either shaving down the bone & spurs or fusion. I'm super anxious about it, but it sounds like that's the only next option.
Still really struggling with making good food choices when I don't feel well, but I'm trying to stay steady for the moment. In good news, I had the short walk to the appointment this morning and then a longer loop on the way home. It was so wonderful to be out and in the sunshine and air! A little over a mile total.
My weekend goals are to go some crocheting and hopefully make some Halloween cookies for a local women's shelter. I love to bake but I can't take them to work this year to share.
Food: includes an Unjury Mighty Bite protein bar, protein shake, veg-bean soup, EverRoast chicken and Carbmaster yogurt with berries & slivered almonds.

Afternoon! TGIF! This has been a super long, super busy week. I originally only had 2 meetings today, but I'm up to 5 and just want to be done.
I feel like that committee member being on live mic and showing their racist side is just a little bit of Karma that I wish a lot more people would get. You're a bad person, no job for you!
QOTD: I'm honestly not sure what has made me laugh hard recently. Thinking about this makes me realize how blah our days have been!
My Food:
- Coffee w/ Cream x3
- Turkey, Cheese, Avocado Roll ups and Cottage Cheese
- Leftover Broccoli Cheddar Soup
Aurora's side walk art from this week. There is also a giant Biden Harris one. I did chuckle a little because our brand new neighbors (haven't even closed on their house) knocked on our door yesterday to talk about fencing and I'm sure they got either a good or bad impression of us based on our political views!
We've had a mini house guest the last couple of days. This is Aurora's BFF's dog. Her Mom is gone to see family in MD and we're pet sitting. Her name is Pig. Yes, her tail is dyed pink. You also can't take a non-blurry picture of her and actually see her tail because if she's standing she's moving!
I got a Keratin treatment on my hair and it's been a game changer! My normally frizzy curls come together nicely even on day 5 or 6 post wash!

THAT TAIL! So cute.
Your hair looks great! I have gone without Keratin since lockdown and I miss it so much. But it seems too ridiculous to spend $200 on a hard treatment for working from home and not seeing anyone. I just throw it in a bun and don't care, 99.9% of the time now anyway. But I miss my hair being effortlessly pretty.
How long does the treatment last for you? The one I got was only $95. She stressed it was a treatment and not a process so it didn't straighten my hair at all, just made it smoother. She said it would last 6-8 weeks and maybe more given I only wash once per week.

Mine lasts about 3 months before I need a new treatment. If you use keratin shampoos it really helps it last longer! I like the Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger Keratin shampoo & conditioner.
Omg, I would petsit that little thing any time any day! What a cute idea with that pink tail.
Love your hair, looks so nice. I tried a couple of times the keratin treatment but did NOTHING to my hair. I had to use the Japanese conditioning in order to get it straight and frizz free.

QOTD: I have been trying to watch funny things on facebook and keep coming across AFV gender reveals those have given me a good laugh.
I've been doing well with my diet and have fluctuated between 169 and 172 this week. Hoping to knock that down here this weekend. Just need to stay focused.
I kept my protein up and my carbs typically low. but some days I indulged and I wasn't mad. I am a bit stressed and haven't slept well and going to try and apply to places for some holiday work. Wish me luck!
