That was quite an exciting weekend. The house is beautiful and really shows all of the work and planning that went into it. Congratulations on the sale. The bidding war was exciting.

I spent a lot of time on planning my reorganization instead of actually doing it. I am not working so will spend this whole week doing what you probably accomplished on Sunday afternoon.
ho
I am setting up my keep, toss, store bags and planning my Goodwill runs. i used to do so many weekend closet and drawer cleaning/organizing marathons. Now that I have more time, it feels strange to not have a deadline. I am having fun deciding on containers and labels.

Our town's iconic food place is the Hot Dog Shoppe. It was started in the 1940's after the owner came back from World War II. It had a simple menu of hot dogs with chili sauce and chopped onions, fresh French fried potatoes, and bottomless orange and root beer drinks. The owner became very wealthy, but hung around the shop and was always making sure things were done well and customers were happy.

People who come back to Warren to visit always make sure to include a trip to the Hot Dog Shoppe. It is where we went after school, after ball games, after movies, and when we just wanted a hot dog. On a typical day at lunchtime, there would be a long line that usually included the mail carriers, the policemen, office workers, factory workers, kids with parents, and the local mayor. The true experience includes chili sauce and cheese on the fries. A real heart attack on plate.

OMG, I am as much of a fat girl at heart as you can get, but that pile of fries just looks so gross to me!

I get one hot dog and eat it with a fork and leave the bun on the plate. I just sit and watch the people with those plates of fries with sauce and cheese. I would never eat it, but it is entertaining. Even before surgery, I could not have eaten that, but what I posted is a typical meal there.

As a fat person (BTW I still am in my head and will never change) I ate my fries smothered in melted butter and salt. Oh I miss that combo.

It's Monday again folks just in case you've lost track of what day it is. Apparently it's a REAL diagnosis even though it's not yet in the DSM....

Well, I'm just short of 2 weeks post spinal procedure (#3). The first week actually wasn't bad but at 5:15pm last Monday, the pain hit and hasn't really stopped since. From the last procedure, I know that there is little that can be done in the short term to deal with it (over the last year I've developed allergies to almost all pain meds), and it looks like there is more to come. That's really tiring to even think of.

Most of my food choices this weekend were less than ideal although I kept pushing the fluids. We tried a gentle yoga video yesterday, and while it was lovely to move my body, even modified movements triggered hours of pain in my head and neck. Argh!! At 9, I'm going to check in with my neuro for an update.

That said, today is a new day and I'm up, at my desk working and I have a plan.

B1: 1 cup Double Bergamot Earl Grey tea w/ Miralax, Unjury Mighty Bite protein bar

B1a: 1 cup Puer'eh Dante tea

B2: Unjury protein shake

L: salad (bean sprouts, radishes, pickled carrots, Skinny Girl balsamic dressing), 4 oz can of chicken or EverRoast

S: berries

D: leftover sashimi & asparagus

E: I wish, wish, wish

G'morning everybody!

Hooray for bidding wars, especially when you are on the receiving end! Hopefully the escrow will have no hiccups.

Has anybody been watching Lovecraft Country on HBO? It's so stressful that I can't take more than one episode at a time. It's about segregation and Jim Crow with a science fiction/horror twist. DH knew about Lovecraft (the author) growing up and read his tales and incorporated them in their dungeons and dragon games - all nerdy stuff. So he was very excited about the show. He says a lot of the show refers back to those original tales and uses the same locales.

Food find : you guys might have noticed my habit of baking during the weekend. I found a Keto bread, single serving, that is actually good. The whole process from start to finish is 5 minutes, because it's done in the microwave! The result is a fluffy English muffin type that you can toast and have for breakfast. The cals are high (311) but the carb is 4.5 and protein is 10.5. Let me know if interested and I'll post the recipe. It hits the spot when you are dying for bread, or want something bread-y for breakfast.

QOTD: we call ourselves the capital of strawberries and artichokes. Don't know if it's true but that's what we are famous for.

My meals yesterday:

  • B: coffee + scrambled eggs
  • L: chicken wings, Cajun style
  • S:Fage yogurt + sf syrup
  • D:low carb keto bread, mixed in parm cheese and had it just plain. Very filling.
  • E: rest day

Happy start of the week, everybody.
