What's on your Saturday menu?

Good morning and a happy weekend to all of us!
I'm still dealing with the cortisone injection and my blood sugars got above 300 yesterday a few times. Thankfully this morning it was in a much better range(117). My leg is still numb but they did it for only my left side...my tailbone is still very pained and I'm coming to the realization that it'll probably always be that way.
QOTD: what makes you the most unique?
b: eggs, turkey sausage and daiya cheese...coffee!
l: stew we made yesterday
d:???
s: popcorn and maybe an apple.
hope we all have a great and relaxing weekend!
oh and this was one of my friend suggestions....

QOTD: I dunno. Someone asked me this yesterday and it got me to thinking. I'm not sure what makes me unique. I'm good at chainmaille but so are others. I'm stubborn but we all know most of us are...lol
As you can tell I'm still contemplating my answer!

Merry weekend.
Nothing much going on at Casa Tek today. I have to take the rats (chihuahuas) to grooming. Then a few hours later I have to pick up the rats. Exciting times!
QOTD: I'm an OCD Vulcan. I am rational, not emotional. I love learning things. It bugs me when someone is wrong on the internet ;)
B: Nothing planned, but may have a couple bites of chicken if I get hungry.
L: Remember the OCD thing above? Mongolian BBQ.
D: Mongolian BBQ.
S: No snacks.
Tek
Sending you sweetness, light and moments of peace

Are you involved in a LARP group? SCA?
My wife and I looked into SCA many years ago. We were very excited, I did all the research I could, and we were ready. We went to the local group and by time the night was done... my wife said NO WAY is she bowing to anyone. And that was it.
I had planned to make her a fine silver mail to wear but I never got to do it.
I envy your talent with chainmail. :)
Good luck,
Tek
Morning all,
I'm up drinking tea and sitting in my sunny "office." At our old house, I had an office with a door. It wasn't much bigger than a closet and was STUFFED full of my crap and collections, but it had a door. In our "new" condo the kitchen, living room, dining room and office are all one big open room with high ceilings and lots of air and light. Each has it's advantages. But all of the fresh air and light is really healing for my body, mind and spirit, so I hang out here alot!!
Yesterday was a very miserable day with almost constant overwhelming head and neck pain. Exhausting at so many levels, but I keep trying to remind myself of some positive things without requiring myself to become Miss Pollyanna Perky...argh!
In other funny things, the Golden Doodle puppy who lives above us just ran past my window chasing a bunny and pulling his Hooman after him. He is such a fuzzy bear and his happy antics give me just one more reason to smile.
We had a Whole Foods/Amazon grocery delivery yesterday and other one about noon today. The delivery services are more $$ and have less selection but I'm so grateful that we have options since I'm not always able to drive. Unfortunately our local Harris Teeter stores that carry the Carbmaster products don't deliver to our house so I have to be able to drive the 4-5 miles to the store to get my Carbmaster stuff. If it was non-perishable, I'd just stock up, but dairy, not so much so....
My To-Do options for today are: 1) do a bit of fall clean-up of my porch garden; 2) try out one of my new yoga videos; 3) take a short walk; 4) work on some crochet washcloths and hot mats. Usually my To-Do list is overflowing with cleaning tasks but DW finally agreed to let me get a cleaning service in and I am SOOOO relieved. Hopefully it means that I can rest and do some "wanna" activities rather than just "hafta" activities ;)
Food? Not sure, but it will definitely include Carbmaster yogurt w/berries & slivered almonds, a protein shake, and an Unjury mighty bites protein bar or 2. Probably will include a TJ's salmon patty, riced cauliflower, steamed broccoli and more of my homemade veg-bean soup.
E: some short walks if I can get out and a short yoga video. Thanks for the ideas many of you sent.
QOTD: unique, hmmmm. My first thought is an old joke: how do you catch a rabbit? Unique up on him and grab his tail. Groan! And yes, I'm telling a joke as a way of avoiding the question.
OK, probably that I believe in living my life with kindness, gentleness and humanity, and in sharing with others what has worked for me.
On that note, I'm going to put on a hat and some shoes and take tea #2 onto the porch.
Wishing you all a safe and beautiful day.
Janet

Good morning all! I've been putting it off long enough and am finally going to get my butt over to the eyeglass place today to pick out my new frames! Other than that I'm just going to work on cleaning my house and laundry. Maybe some more binge watching of designated survivor on Netflix....I'm so addicted to that show. May go visit with my mom since she's all by herself with dad out of town. Sitting on my porch now drinking my coffee....loving this cooler weather! It's in the 50's here this morning with only a high of 70. Now that's my kind of weather!
Accountability was ok yesterday....not gonna lie, it could have been better. Today will be though!
QOTD: hmmm....this is a tough one. Everything I come up with I feel it's not very unique. I used to think my red hair was unique because growing up people would always comment on my hair and say how lucky I was as not many people had that color hair, but now I feel like it's not as rare. I see more and more people who have it. I used to hate it as a kid! Lol
B: coffee w/Splenda & sf creamer x 2
B2: protein shake
L: maybe another protein shake ?
D: leftovers of some sort ? (Fridge is full of them at the moment)
S: Apple and maybe some L&F Greek yogurt
I'm sitting here wondering what that noise was coming from my dining room and it's my older cat Chester curled up in one of the chairs just snoring away. I swear he can snore louder than a grown man! Lol

Mornin' All!
Last night I decided I'd go to an outdoor Zumba class this morning (that is, if they hold it outdoors - it's supposed to be 46 degrees at 10:00, the time of the class), but I'm a bit sore from that bike ride yesterday, so maybe not. I feel like I need to do SOMETHING involving the gym, though, since I'm still paying my monthly fee. No good Zoom classes by them today, though. And I probably shouldn't do upper body weights, either (the only exercise I actually go to the gym to do - but only at weird times during the weekdays when pretty much no one else is there - so Saturdays would definitely NOT count). Anyway, if I'm too achy to do Zumba, I'm definitely too achy to do weights. So...???? Maybe I can walk or bike later on this afternoon (gym closes at 2:00 on weekends now, though, but at least I can get some exercise later...)
I went to an apple orchard yesterday and bought two bags of apples from their store (it was too cold to be out picking). Both types of apples were good, but the Honeycrisps were outstanding. I just wish they were a little cheaper!
QOTD: I can't think of any one thing that would qualify me as unique, although as with anyone, the combination of things makes me unique. Somewhat uncommon things that I've done: traveled to Cuba, quit smoking, lost over 200 lbs (with a little help from WLS, of course...), managed to save up enough money on two very modest salaries (librarian and counselor) that I was able to retire at age 58 (DH, who's 10 years younger, is on track to do the same, provided the economy isn't devastated after we're through this COVID crisis!!)
TSS: 5y4m
B: piece of cheesecake-flavored yogurt pie with strawberry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: I probably should have leftovers (turkey slices and eggplant curry) since we have so many of them, but I'm trying to get back on track with my eating - so maybe a microwavable dish (I'm thinking the southwest chicken with quinoa one) since it'll be more "exciting") (I'm less likely to go off plan if I have "interesting" things for meals)
AS: Greek yogurt and an apple
D: I'm making a spicy beef and sweet potato stew that's in my new IP cookbook (which of course means more leftovers tomorrow...ugh!)
have a great Saturday, everyone!

OH ate my first post ! ( not the first time and its happening a LOT lately ) on my end it looks like endless processing.....
Went out to exercise ( Rollerskate) for the first time since arriving in FL. Did about 6 miles .. then went to cross road and didn't see car coming so had to turn abruptly - bottom line is I did a split unintentionally ( a very advanced trick move on quads and cool but I wasn't stretched or prepared ) so I pulled the whole back of my left leg.
After a hot shower and slathering with athletic cream - I'm on enforced bed rest for the day - and bored out of my skull !
B= sugar free chai tea latte
L- seared scallops in fat free scampi sauce with butter buds and wine, fresh peas , angel food cake doused w sugar free strawberry jello w fresh strawberries n blueberries
D- probably more scallops or a cheeseburger made w fat free cheese and 93% fat free ground beef . I put the cheese in the burger to keep it juicy n tender n sear FAST :) salad no dressing ( cuz can't bend down to get it lol)
no tv in bedroom yet so no binge-watching either.
