Damn girl, that is awesome.
If you think you are too short for your weight... try being 4'10"!
G'morning everybody!
Hooray for the offer on the house and above asking price. Your pics are the cutest, as usual.
Well I resisted all day and I thought I was home free, but at 7:30 pm those darn candied pecans called my name. I am so pissed at myself. I even asked DH how important those pecans are to his beet salad, and he said very important. So I thought I just gotta get tougher and tune them out next time they call me. At least it wasn't like last time (a fistful) but about 4-5 of them. DH caught me while I was sneaking the pecans and did the ultimate sacrifice. Put the whole container in a ziploc bag and poured water over it. It's the little things in marriage that makes you realize again and again you married the right person.
QOTD: Trevor Noah, hands down. When John Stewart left I never thought anybody could fill his shoes. But Trevor made the show his and I adore him.
So I had to make my care package fit the Fri theme, because I really wanted to share it.

Shelia, will you be my Mom. That is so cool that you do this for your children. I did not have a warm and sensitive Mom. She was not terrible and I love her to death but she was just never that nurturing. She taught us to fend for ourselves very early on. We were all potty trained a week after our first steps. We all did our own laundry by the age of 10. Lots of great life lessons that made me strong today but not a lot of coddling I would say.

Isn't it funny that we want what we didn't have?
If you asked my kids, they couldn't care less about these packages. They might have preferred a mom like yours than me. I actually got into a huge argument with DD the first year she was in college. First kid away in college and I missed her terribly, so in order to feel closer to her kept sending her packages. Usually they are 2nd day delivery and trackable. She would let them sit in the college mail room FOR DAYS!!! I would keep asking her did you get it? Did you get it? And she would say not yet. But it says it's there. Mom, leave me alone. I was so hurt and I was worried about all the food sitting in a hot mail room. So every year I sent less and less packages and now she appreciates them better. Not that she looks forward to them, but at least I get a thank you text. DS while he was home and could see my hurt when DD didn't care about the packages told me he would always love getting packages when he is in college. Well, now that he is in college he just sends me a text "got it"...that's all.
In short, although it was long, I do these care packages more for me to feel close to them, because I'm not sure they care about them that much.

True words. My mom once told me you never know how much I love you until you have your own kids. I guess gotta wait for these kids to have kids to know how much we love them.
Check my answer to Erin below, DD came through!
